Are you blind?  What he stated was accurate.  Nobody clamped on to the 'tech' portion.  Folks clamped on to and reacted to the World Champ portion.

Nothing was said about staffs.  You criticized the situation and Mesenbrink relying on freestyle positions.  Also said it was a fluke.  This was before they stepped foot in college, err I mean Haines was already in a college room, but Mesenbrink wasn't.

We all know you have an 80 VO2 max, is it a 90 VO2 max when you are backtracking?

ALL this said... I would take Mesenbrink as well.  There are a few signs pointing to not only him wrestling, but wrestling 157lbs if he does.

- Bartlett posted a video (picture maybe?) of them working out with the caption "Just two 160lbers"
- Ben has been trying to insert him in to the 157lb discussion on FRL as much as possible

So, to me... smart money is on him wrestling 157 if he wrestles this season.  Perhaps they start the season with both him and Haines under redshirt and Bearclaw with the nod?  The difference being is that MM would have to not be enrolled to Oly-shirt... so there is that.

I would suggest you use your own abilities to see that I, and other posters quoted your original foolish post.  Keep backtracking and being able-ist!

If you were, I would ask that you use another method to read a thread, completely, before responding.

We’re talking about Meyer Shapiro and Mitchell Messenbrink.

Do people discussing them NOT know that they are U20 world champions? Like versus like.

Also, given that I said “teched his way through”, it was pretty clear I wasn’t talking about Sidakov. Who had several close, non-technical superiority wins.

By all means, keep digging.

So, this is what Track shows for their Certifying Weights... for 'EXPECTED WEIGHT' I used what Wrestlestat has them listed at, as Penn State won't likely update their until mid-January (phuktarts!)... Keep in mind that these gents could have certified a month or more ago and that some of these guys could keep in phenomenal shape, whereas some could let their weight get out of control.

A few notes...
- A 174.1-184.0lb Stalrocci is lower than I expected.
- They have the grades very inaccurate in some instances (looking at the Lee brothers, Track!)
- Kurt McHenry probably has a massive beer belly
- I thought Kasak was Greyshirtting... appears not... he could be an option and let both Mesenbrink and Haines to Redshirt
- Chochran already being under 197lbs actually surprised me.

I said in a different thread and maybe I’m misremembering but I thought in 2020 someone pointed out that you can be enrolled while taking an ORS.  Maybe Fix, not sure.

…and I knew the “world champ” was talking about Messenbrink, the Sidakov comment was just an attempted joke…

Yeah but Le Duke is right.  U20 champs are far better than those Senior Champs.  Can't compare a 20 year old to a senior citizen

What happens if a U20 champ has to a wrestle a U23 champ? Is the tiebreaker whoever has a 40+ Veteran's champ on staff?

This is tricky.  Didn't consider this conundrum.  What I do know is that it's unfair to compare Messenbrink or Shapiro to say Sidakov who is 27 in Russian years which makes him 54 in American years

What about Dake who is 32 in American years but U17 in Dake years? How does he stack up? He is only a senior world champ but maybe he can right the wrongs of history and win those elusive U20 and U17 world titles to really cement his legacy. He might even be able to beat Messenbrink and Shapiro...

Didn't he state in a recent interview that was his goal after the 2028 Olympics?

Posters here should be less pedantic as a rule. nobody actually thought that OP was saying Shapiro was the Senior world champ. Even the first guy who invoked Sidakov has already admitted he was joking. Yet here we are, two pages in of chimps heaving crap around the cage trying win an argument over a non-ambiguous technical ambiguity because they are insecure about their intelligence which leads to a compulsion to point out inconsequential errors.

cut it out, dummies.
