WrestlingRasta Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Donalds try to talk something to some ladies on the left, their body language is pretty funny.
Wrestleknownothing Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Only 427 members present. 214 votes to Speakership. Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge
VakAttack Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 My understanding is he actually can only lose three.
WrestlingRasta Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Pay no attention to the 'time remaining' Roll call always extends 15-20 minutes past 00:00. They will be at 220 and 212 for the vote.

Wrestleknownothing Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 The call is alphabetical. I started listening in the D's. We are in the F's and there are already 5 no Jordan I have heard. Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

WrestlingRasta Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Jordan lost more votes, but maybe more intriguing is that 2 D's went against Jeffries.

Plasmodium Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Went about as expected. Seemed like McCarthy was trying in vain to win over Democrats. A stellar example of gross mischaracterization with a straight face.

Ah, yes, "Christian"nationalism at its best. Jesus now stands with criminals and serial violators of the Ten Commandments. Owner of over two decades of the most dangerous words on the internet! In fact, during the short life of this forum, me's culture has been cancelled three times on this very site!
mspart Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I'm thinking Jordan needs to stop. When McCarthy did this, he had just a few holdouts and he was the hands on heir apparent. Jordan isn't. There is no heir apparent. It is a unique time in House history that the majority doesn't have a clear leader. mspart
BobDole Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 McCarthy won't leave the Speaker's office and gets upset when Gaetz comes and takes a dump in his private bathroom. That's the Republicans in a nutshell.
Wrestleknownothing Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Republicans are now taking a secret ballot vote on whether Jordan should remain the speaker designate. The options are yes, no, and present. I am assuming that he will have many, many fewer yes votes than what he got on the floor in public. But it is unlikely the results will be released. Leaked perhaps, but not officially released. Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge
