Hope we see vinatage Woods. If so, he wins. Smart, tactical and can mix it up with anyone.

Disagree I think Bassett smokes him … maybe get a bronze this year he’s a dog but I don’t think he’s ready for the amouzad level .. but I think he wrecks woods

Boy that’s a strong opinion…this all comes down to health. If Woods is 100% it’s going to be a close one

this series is probably my own most anticipated domestic leg grabbing match that has taken place in a minute...

made more so since earlier this year i decided to quit being a curmudgeon towards Bo and just come to terms and fully accept that i am now a fan...

personally, i have always liked Real... never met the kid... only know him through is matches since shoe gate, but, for some reason i have gravitated towards him... then i had dinner with his dad at Pan Ams and it became clear why i like Real...

Bo has always had trouble with anyone who he can not just bully on the mat and Real is a grown ass man...

i expect Bo to snap Real right into his legs as per usual when he can not get someone just running backwards from the pressure...

i pulling for Real, but, if Bo goes out and smokes him i would not be even a little surprised...

I have often gone back to the "snapping guys into his own legs" as a detractor for Bo when picking guys to potentially give him issues but what I generally fail to account for is the fact that he scrambles very very well. I have always thought the Japanese style where guys are pushing a lot more than pulling and timing your steps would be one of the bigger issues for him similarly to Kota vs Mitchell at u23's a few years ago and I do see some of that in reals game. Ultimately I do not expect this series to be close but I do not know who I think wins. I feel like Real is either going to be able to hold up in the handfight and his takedowns will either be 4's or he turns Bo and the matches are largely one sided outside of bo chipping away late or Real gets overwhelmed and frustrated and Bo kind of puts it on him. I do want to caveat that I wish we knew how long Real was off the mat with the staph infection and how long he has had to train leading into this. Gun to my head I would go with Real because I generally like to assume the best version of guys relative to recent showings and I think while Sujeet is better now than he was last year that is a very similar style to what Bo is going to bring.

If we are getting a worlds ready Real vs Bo, who seems to always be ready, I’m going to take Bo 2-1. Real will take match one with an early flurry of points in period 1 and is able to fend Bo off long enough in period 2 to take the dub. After getting his feel Bo will take match 2 and 3 comfortably. But this series can certainly go in many directions

I got Bo in two, I think both can be close. Without getting too much into it because we got so deep when we thought it would happen in June, real has very prolific offense from his feet and in par tare, if he can get on top early and get a couple, turns, it creates a hole that Bo Bassett make sure to get out of. I think it’s safe to say Bo Bassett has a better gas tank. And that the longer the match goes on the better it looks for him so it’s a battle of attrition, and how long Real can hold on if he get up early. Real is also very good in the hand fight, and we’ve seen that if you can match bow in the hand fight, you can slow him down. Real is uniquely equipped to do so so that’s a fun element as well. Ultimately I think Bo wins in two close ones

65kg is far and away the most competitive weight in leg grabbing...

i think blaze is the future of this weight domestically and the sooner he makes that decision the better for the US in  LA...

The 65kg bracket for LA trials will probably be the deepest bracket we have ever seen to make a team.

If Bo beats Woods we got to be really happy about our 65. Because really Woods has done great things lately.

I would generally  agree, but Woods has had a rough year since his great Worlds.  Two losses to retired, out of shape JO.  Close wins over Ashnault and Caldwell.  Staph.  Not a banner year.

Everyone was super hyped about Crooham, Jax, and Ono; partially because of what they did to Vito.  Rightfully so, but at least a LITTLE shine has come off these wins because people now realize Viro was greatly physically diminished after his World Gold.  I thought that maybe I was one of the only ones to feel this way- but even the Flo bros brought it up.

There will be at most two previous medalists: Woods, and Bassett if he wins the spot and a medal. It may be deep for a post-NCAA bracket, but far from the deepest bracket ever.

Going back just two years ago, 86 featured world champ and previous p4p Taylor, world champ Zahid, world champ Hidlay, olympic medalist and hot pisser Brooks, world team members Marstellar and Downey, 2x (3x??) world team alternate Dieringer, and 5x champ Starocci. And that is just off the top of my head, I'm sure that there have been tougher OTT brackets.

i would just add JO did not make weight for those matches and the RAF rules are such that internationally at least one of those results would have been reversed (maybe both- my memory fails me currently)...

Vito has looked really good recently...
