oldschool

65kg bo vs magomedov and 97kg snyder vs sadulaev were both AMAZING matches bo stuck in there and wore him down. still gives up too many points haphazardly, but you can't fault his mentality or results really proud of snyder. i feel like this is the first win over sadulaev in a long while (discounting injury victories) where he was really just strategically and tactically so sound the whole way through amazing start for team USA, and both very winnable semis

man the dake vs kadi match and jason nolf's matches were both amazing nail-biters love this so much

yeah, we seem to systematically gas opponents which is confusing since it's one of the most obvious and seemingly straightforward things you can train for ahead of time any ideas why this seems to happen so frequently? is it having better depth / training partners that push our guys into deep waters more frequently? is it folkstyle impact? something in the water?

USA MFS killing it so far with every single wrestler still in medal contention: 57kg: in finals vs RUS 61kg: GOLD 65kg: in finals vs JPN 70kg: in semis vs IRI 74kg: in semis vs BLR 79kg: in bronze vs AZE 86kg: GOLD 92kg: in bronze vs KAZ 97kg: in semis vs BLR or AZE 125kg: in semis vs AZE

do we have a date set for this yet?

this post has all the hallmarks of being generated by an LLM. weird

agreed, but with uguev at 31, it would be a helluva changing of the guard

will be interesting to see how yazdani does up at 97kg against the field as well

even with russia back in full form and a competitive iran + japan, i think this squad has a really good chance at winning worlds this year. zain, hendrickson, and maybe bassett could all outperform green def deserves the spot and happy for him; hoping the extra kilos gives him a shot but 74 is always super competitive..

highlighting the guys who i think have a solid shot at gold: 57 kg: Spencer Lee 61 kg: Marcus Blaze 65 kg: TBD 70 kg: Zain Retherford 74 kg: James Green 79 kg: Levi Haines 86 kg: Kyle Dake 92 kg: Trent Hidlay 97 kg: Kyle Snyder 125 kg: Wyatt Hendrickson

snyder forced to postpone his customary bible sesh afterparty at the local titty bar for the first time since 2016

damn green makes his eighth world team at 33 well-deserved battle over carr maybe green not cutting as much he'll perform better at worlds? who knows

regardless of the outcome here, not feeling great about our chances of medalling at 74kg this year

green lost enough blood in that second match to drop back down to 70kg

he was warned multiple times in the first period and his grabbing of 1 finger seemed blatant enough that both the mat and side judges confirmed the violation gotta be subtle w/ that type of thing

this was such an awesome moment. it's not often you see refs calling out BS like this

and yeah, croatian prostitutes all around for team USA

SNYDER WINS GOLD 3-2 challenge from iran at the buzzer, but i don't think it'll change things

100% was just thinking those ears need to be drained

Captain America let's goooooooo

great disclaimer. really impressive match tho his post-match dance skills need work reminds me a bit of when yazdani beat david taylor at worlds the year after losing to him in the olympic finals
