LJB Posted June 4 Posted June 4 it would not bother me at all... regardless, athletes should be given the opportunity to wrestle for both teams and that was not the case this year in Greco... silliness...
happyvalet Posted June 5 Posted June 5 No, ideally you have 30 different guys wrestling at Senior/U23/U20 Worlds for the sake of the depth and development. To me, Senior Worlds matters 100x as much as all the age divisions combined, so I prefer a process that optimizes for the best Senior teams long-term. The U20 Open and Trials tournaments are very deep at most weights. The U23 challenge tournament is not. At all. The tournaments themselves are good for development and it would be a shame for the U20 tournaments to become basically meaningless like the U23 tournament.

LJB Posted July 12 Posted July 12 When I first heard about this I was fairly shocked Robideau declined the spot… I get why DT didn’t want the Raney’s to compete for a Greco spot on the off chance they made the senior team or U23 team… But free training isn’t going to impact the folk season and with U23 being in Vegas it just seems really odd to not want the spot…

LJB Posted July 12 Posted July 12 yeah... JW has had his issues, but, he is actually a pretty nice kid... just a little wild... pumped he is finally getting to rep the US this year... he was in a ton of finals but never made a team... 1
