There's a difference in "doing a run" vs racing a 5k.

BtW:  prefer the 2 sec gif to the 40 min talk show.

Sometimes, there really isn't.

One person's 5k jog is faster than many, many other peoples' 5k race.

Similarly, a high-level wrestler can beat a decent wrestler while barely breaking a sweat.

If folks here have learned nothing else - wrestling is, foremost, about technique and leverage.

does askren sitting around waiting to die do his transplant service or does him doing the coolest shit ever do justice to the sacrifice?

That's a slow pitch, right over home plate.

His transplant gave him life - no argument about that.

With life, again, in our hands, what would any of us do?

  • Hide at home?
  • Do the thing that we love most in life - and is family approved.

It's impossible to fault Askren for doing what he's always been best at.

Get a life dude. You’re like 40-50 years old acting like this on a forum.

Get over yourself, child. Learn to respect your elders. Believe it or not, they know more than you do.

Do raising a family and being the best wrestling coach/teacher in the country, for starters, constitute "sitting around waiting to die"?

I really think this is the ultimate stunt to grow wrestling, and I really do commend Ben for being so willing and committed to growing wrestling by doing this stunt. I don’t think he’s trying to prove anything, he made it clear it’s a one time thing. RAF is going to get a lot of clicks out of this. This does not change my concern about it though.

From what I've heard, you may well be right.

Any rumors on RAF 11 card? Only 3 bouts announced a month out

Chris Bono vs Nick Becker

I believe Askren said this was going to be his last match ever?

Seems like a kinda random opponent if so.  Should’ve got Pendleton…

or if RAF is really leaning into the sideshow reputation…Jake Paul

Guida vs Edgar makes 4

He asked for rumors… rumors have to start somewhere, whether they’re true or not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The confirmed matches for RAF 11 are:

Cassioppi vs Mostafa Elders

KOT vs Minto

Guida vs Edgar

Colby vs Arman

…RAF 12 (August 22)

Woodley vs Buckley

Wheels vs Holston

With KOT about a year out from knee repair, here's to hoping he is able to put in a few 6-8 week training plans and hit the ground running at some rankings tournies next year and decide on a weight class as he approaches the two year mark before (allegedly) OTT in December.

i am an idiot on the internet

Less than an hour. I'm ready for some wrestling!  Who ya got in the Main Event? I'll take Colby for the close victory.

I’d love to be wrong but I have a gut feeling Tsarukyan takes this one…

If RAF is going to list Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as Askren’s hometown, they better start calling Kenosha, Wisconsin, Zain Retherford’s hometown.
