More boring offseason talk: the NCAA has approved sponsors on uniforms for all D1 sports starting this fall. Has anyone heard any logo sponsorship announcements for wrestling? Idk if we'll see any, but this new rule could help non-revenue sports a little bit with their budget and NIL.

Mostly, I'm hoping to see a CAEL'S COOKIE logo right over the belly of PSU singlets.

Here's the rule: beginning 8/1/2026, all D1 sports teams will be eligible to put up to 2 additional commercial sponsor patches on their uniforms, equipment, and apparel for any non-NCAA championship competition, including the regular season, and 1 additional sponsor patch during conference championships. Maximum size allowed is 4" square per logo patch. Placement restrictions tbd by the each sport's rules & oversight subcommittees.

Hate to burst your bubble but that cookie logo is going to be smack across the small of the back…

Is this just the gateway? First it is a 2" patch then what? We will look like NASCAR or worse, European soccer teams! UGH

The rules will stop this like it states.

These schools are a brand too, just like the brands that want to put sponsors on their uniforms. They don't want that to be overshadowed.

NASCAR race teams do not really have a brand to protect.

Placement will probably be similar to what the UWW allows, except D1 sponsors will also be allowed to slap their logo on headgear and I guess kneepads and other equipment if they really wanted to. I can't remember seeing wrestlers at UWW events with sponsor logos on their singlets, esp not the max # allowed.

They absolutely do.  More so than many sponsorship teams or RTC's in wrestling.
