Hey, that's great!   Congrats.   I'm not planning to go, but would like to see the wrestling live.   How do you go about getting tickets?

Register for the ticket draw with the link below. I was not picked for today's draw - congrats to @flyingcement on scoring his tickets.

I am planning to go.  I was selected for a spot in drop 1, but my time slot isn't until next week.  How much are tickets?

The quarter final matches were about 160 a piece.  We only got two for my daughter and me.

In Paris the quarterfinals weren't one specific session.  I think there were three sessions covering quarterfinals for men's freestyle one session each day for three days with different weights each day.  Are you going to the quarterfinals for all styles or just subset?

The email I received said being selected in the draw would allow me to buy up to 12 tickets.  This would allow one person to attend 12 sessions or two people to attend 6.

@flyingcement nice. Which section/zone are your seats? Some friends in LA got early access to the presale ticket drop but said prices were insanely high once you add in service fees. But they were looking at like baseball, soccer, archery, track, and I forget what else. Opening ceremony was sold out (for their drop) but they said closing ceremony tickets were running at like $5k apiece. One friend spent over $7k, which sounded insane to me, but he said it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and that he could probably resell the tickets if he needed to.

I heard that wrestling tix are supposed to start at $28 for corner nosebleed non-semi/non-medal  tickets, on up to close to $700. They said there's a 24% service fee! Wtf

The email I received said "Tickets are sold by seat category, not specific seat numbers. Your exact seat assignments will come closer to the Games."  Not sure how precise each category will be.

I just looked it up and found this ticket chart for wrestling:

It looks like that's the face value price before taxes and fees. I still think it's crazy that there's a 24% service charge rather than a flat one-time fee. Did the IOC do that so they can re-charge the 24% every time the tickets are resold on their system? Seems like they're gouging fans.

I think the schedule is the same as in Paris.  The preliminaries through QF and repechage matches will be in the morning session which is uses the lower price schedule.  In the evening session there will be semifinals for the weights that started competition that day and the medal matches for the weights that started competition the previous day. There are a total of 13 sessions for wrestling.  The last day of competition there is a single session with the medal matches from the previous day.

The pre-sale code is a game...:classic_dry: We run into the same thing for concerts tiks (seems very much like Ticketbastard).

Yes the B tickets are what we got but for the morning session (quarter finals).  I'm excited even if its more than two years away.  The prices for gymnastics and track & field were just too much to even consider.

My drop is next week. I only get one session so I must choose very, very wisely.

I want MFS. Need to decide morning prelims or evening medal session, and which day. Too much pressure.

Other tix going to a women's swimming event and rugby event. Marathons the last two days can be anywhere along the course don't need tix for those. The rest will all be $$$$ aftermarket

Thank you brother.  I am pumped.  We live in LA so we were on a pre-sale list.  We  bought at cost which was still pretty expensive to me!  I think the Olympics are supposed to be for the people, but the financial opportunities are too much for these people to resist.  Its a shame to me that a poor person in LA where the event is being hosted, would need to be hundreds at a minimum for a single event 😞

Soccer World Cup is even worse though

I was lucky enough to get into drop 1 for next week.  Now I have to convince my wife that she doesn’t want to go to anything and just snag a bunch of wrestling tickets!

I didn't get drawn yet either. I went to London in 2012 and attended wrestling and track and field. How much are the track and field tickets? I guess I hadn't seen any prices for those and if possible would like to attend that again if drawn in.

Thanks

My name was not pulled from the hat for ticket purchase abilities yet.

Be sure to check your Spam folder. I just noticed this morning that my notification got filtered into my junk email folder. Same thing happened to my wife. My timeslot is 4/10-12 and hers is a little  later.

That's pretty early.  Of my friends that entered 10/12 were selecting in the first ticket drop.  The earliest time slot any of received was tomorrow with the latest about 10 days out.  All notices either notifying you of your time or that you weren't selected should have gone out yesterday.  You would have received an email either way.

Wow! I didn't know there was a time tomorrow. My email said congrats, I've been assigned a time slot to purchase LA28 Olumpics tickets during Drop 1 starting on 4/10 through 4/12. Hopefully there are good seating options if there's an earlier drop! Actually, it sounds like each drop has an allocation of all seating options available on a FCFS basis, though I may be wrong.
