  1. Past hour
  2. Penn State only takes top wrestlers out of Utah.
  3. This single post clearly represents your level of "thought" used into this, and any other topic on this board, and why you are one of the most ridiculous posters on here that no one takes seriously.
  4. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Or so I've been told.
  5. Truzz said he may try to get a more detailed preview out there, but I will just be posting the matchups at each weight with small blurbs. 57- Lee vs Sakamoto This is a shockingly weak 57kg for Japan. It seems nobody can hold it/wants to come down for this weight class. Sakamoto is good, but his results (5th at Asians) show that he is far from the level of Higuchi and Ono. 61- Vito/Jax vs Suda This is one of Japan's best weight's and Suda is a monster. 65-Woods vs Kiyooka Reigning Olympic Champ who went through a very tough bracket to even make the Japanese world team. 70-Duke vs Aoyagi Returning World Silver. Took a loss at Meiji Cup to Yama*I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*a, who won Duke's u20 worlds bracket last year. Beat Green and Lewan earlier this year. 74-Carr vs Takahashi This match is super interesting for me. Carr beat returning Olympic Silver Takatani (not competing this year) and Takahashi beat Messenbrink at u23 worlds last season. He also took 5th at senior worlds up at 79kg. This should be a great matchup. 79-Haines vs Kamiya Kamiya lost 8-0 to Wick earlier this year and DNP at u20s last year. This is a weight where I would expect USA to win. 86-Zahid vs H. Ishiguro Ishiguro was teched by Brooks at the Olympics. He is not a slouch but another weight USA is favored. 92- Hidlay vs T. Ishiguro Ishiguro took 3rd at Senior Asians, went 0-1 at worlds last year losing to Ghasempour. He is real solid and there is little data to compare the two, I would lean Hidlay but not a sure thing at all. 97-Snyder vs Yoshida Yoshida beat Snyder earlier this year, but it is a result that can absolutely be reversed. This is another one of the matches that can really go either way 125- Hendrickson vs Yamamoto Wyatt all day.
  6. Oklahoma isn't one of the schools. Is it...
  7. Yes, there is lots of information to process.
  8. Assuming the Bible is accurate account. Monster assumption, given there are many other claims out there too.
  9. I don't know the exact nature but he did share a lot about himself to the extent our limited minds can comprehend. He also gave good instructions on how to operate a sustainable society and what his expectations are. Then knowing we would never be able to fulfill his will to perfection he gave us a simple remedy.
  10. I'm NOT Christian. I believe in higher power(s) beyond our senses and science but think it's dumb to think you know the exact nature of God. So yah I think Christianity is dumb, and do are other dogmatic religions.
  11. 250 mile is a rule but there's a work around for wrestlers who attend private schools.
  12. OKLAHOMA STATE. DONE.
  13. Japan has a 2 step process. First stage is the Emperor's cup in December and second step is the Meiji cup in June. If you win both you are guaranteed a spot on the world team. If the winner of the Meiji cup is different to the Emperor's cup then they will wrestle off for the spot. The wrestle off is just a 1 off match, not best 2 of 3. The wrestle off is held on the same day as the gold medal match of that weight in the Meiji cup, probably about an hour or so after the gold medal match concludes. The winner of the Emperor's cup could even lose in the first round of the Meiji cup and still come back and get the world team spot as winning the Emperor's cup guarantees you the wrestle off opportunity no matter how poorly you do in the Meiji cup. They give no advantage at all to returning world medalists except for olympic years where if you win a medal at the last world championships prior the the Olympics(or maybe even just qualify the weight?) you are automatically on the Olympic team. As for the Iran process, yes, it is decided by the coaches and federation. If they don't trust a particular wrestler they can make it extremely difficult for them to make a team. The federation has written out a process for this year and last year to make the world team but it varies from weight to weight. They placed importance on the Takhti cup initially and said everyone has to compete at it but a bunch of guys ( Javan (61kg), Amouzad, a few guys at 70, Nokhodi, Ghasempour, Firouzpour, Azarpira) missed it for various reasons like injury or good performances in previous tournaments excusing them from the Takhti cup. All these wrestlers are either confirmed to be on the world team ( that probably won't even go to worlds) or still have a chance to be on the world team. Its usually a mix of past international performances and performance in foreign tournaments. Having won prior world medals, even if not directly from the previous year's worlds championships, gives you a big advantage in the process as coaches will go out of there way to make it easier for you to be on the team.
  14. You sound like one of those Christians who disagree with every aspect of Christianity.
  15. One would think. Seems like an easier solution would have been to hook Bill up with a job at Coe College (I kid, sorta). To @Coastal’s comments, isn’t there a thing about living within 250 miles of the RTC or something?
  16. I know he wrestles w the kids at AWA practices. That will put anybody at risk. The healthiest people can get severe staph. His age and cardio have little to do w this.
  17. I could see compliance telling them that recruits and potential recruits can't train with Iowa without knowing that all three brothers are RTC eligible.
  18. THATS FOR SURE. TONS OF WHACK JOBS. Look around you when you're there, especially if it's evangelical.
  19. The family (dad?) wanted to tell Tom how to train/run the program but also wanted paid flights to get their kids to the RTC to train whenever they wanted? Giving so much special treatment to one family is a quick way to ruin a team's culture so I don't blame Tom for taking a stand. However, I can easily imagine him being less than tactful with how he communicated all this to the family and that has been a persistent problem
  20. Couldn't he just use part of his $25M to hop on NetJets?
  21. Wouldn't be to OK State, no room at that inn with he and Dreshaun going for one spot.
  22. And the locks in the hammer and the silver nail Little D3 and the man in the moon "When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when We'll get together then, you know we'll have a good time then"
