Askren lost a competitive fight to Maia, one of the greatest MMA BJJ practitioners ever. Askren brutally KOed by Masvidal, who was coached up by Mike Thomas Brown, who is in charge of Team Nickal.

With regard to supporting wrestlers (former or college ), If Nickal isn't going to support wrestlers doing different ventures, like JB doing commentary for ESPN, then I don't know why he should expect the entire wrestling community to support him in his non wrestling ventures.
