  1. I think Ruth at his peak beats 184 version of Brooks' peak. Brooks was better at 197. If you remember, Marcus Coleman beat a 184 Brooks. 141 I'm not sure Zain could go here. Yes, he beat Stieber, but he only wrestled one NCAA tournament here and finished 5th. I think a junior year, 157, JB beats Nolf. But I won't fight you on it. I won't argue with you about Starocci over Askren. I could see the argument for both (Askren 2 Hodges vs Starr 4 titles). Also, not to nitpick, but you reference a couple times that you're prioritizing college careers, which I did as well. But then you also mentioned that Vito got the nod from you in part because he won a WT.
  2. Oversight on my part. I overlooked Cael since he started his career in the 90s. Slide Cael in at 197 and remove Nickal.
  3. The problem is some people look at this as "who the had the best career" and others look at it as "who was the best in their prime or at their peak". And Flo did not really clarify which way they're defining it. I'll do prime. 125: Spencer 133: JO 141: Stieber 149: Dake 157: JB 165: DT 174: Askren 184: Ruth 197: Nickal 285: Gable Yes, I did some jockeying around to get Dake, DT, and JB in the lineup. But I think it's fair. Dake's domination of Molinaro in the finals was impressive. 157 JB dominated a returning finalist in Poeta. And senior year DT was ultra dominant all year. I also considered Cole Konrad over Gable, but peak Gable (before the WWE etc.) was unreal.
  4. Where does that leave Haines?
  5. I'd imagine this will be Hunter Mason.
  6. Wow. Not sure how I missed this. Terrible.
  7. Normally I'd agree with this, but he's done this most of his college career which makes me wonder if he does this for some kind of grip advantage. See below pic from his freshman year NCAAs.
  8. I'd move Wask into tier 4. He has split matches with Norman in his career, lost to Singleton by 2 at NCAAs, and finished 8th. I'd also see the argument of moving Pinto down into tier 4, but I wouldn't die on that hill.
  9. Don't forget Angelo. If I had to pick right now, I'd go: Angelo McEnelly Welsh Ryder Sinclair But, regardless of how it plays out, that group of 5 is insane.
  10. He's huge for the weight. But I've always been high on him.
  11. I know for certain he wasn't their first choice (I.e. Rob Koll). I also have 0 intel, but seemed to me like once they lost out on the top candidates, they went after a guy they felt they could control.
  12. Sorry, I was looking at @flyingcement's lineup when I typed it. But yes, 1 or 2 is a lot better than the 0 they had this year.
  13. So, I was correct. Caliendo is not on the U23 world team @Jimmy Cinnabon.
  14. Decatur still has eligibility? And if they go with the lineup you suggested, it will consist of 1 AA. Not sure I'd call that salty.
  15. I agree with most of this. Dropping to a knee, stalling. But, hand on the mat, not stalling.
  16. This part of this statement if factually inaccurate, yes.
  17. And even if MM makes the senior world team and opts to not do the U23 team, the next in line would be J. Blaze (if he wins his true 3rd match at FX).
  18. Sorry to burst your bubble Mr. Pastry, but it's MM's spot by way of making the senior national team.
  19. Committed to OU under the old regime. Kish never gave him the time of day when he got the job. So Zan reopened his recruiting process. Came down to Mizzou and Wisco, and we know how the story ended.
  20. He brought in a guy that went 1-2 at NCAAs...
  21. Weren't there reports he was leaving VT to get back closer to home (I.e. Maryland)?
