  1. I can't imagine they would be. There's not many AA's floating around out there, even if it was two tournaments ago.
  2. Where did I say significant? But yes, I think cutting weight, when don't the right way, is a good part of our sport. And my opinion won't change on that. And I know majority of college coaches feel similarly.
  3. I agree cutting weight builds character. Leave the system as is. It's not broken.
  4. Added to staff at UNI or OSU?
  5. Back to portal news, because if I don't stick to the topic I'll be a hypocrite. Do we think any UNI guys follow Roper to OSU? I know he's well liked. Keckeisen loved him. Does he make the move to Stillwater to train RTC?
  6. A 'tough cut' doesn't have to mean suffering and starving. For the college men, it means 'the dedication and self-discipline it took was tough.' WHICH IS GOOD FOR THE SPORT!! Wrestling is hard. Life is hard. Taking a hard part out of our sport will do more harm than good. Yes, to give the athletes time to recover after weigh-ins. Many have injuries that will require tape, heat/stimulant, braces, etc. Making them weigh-in mat side will not allow this. And if the counter argument to that is "Well weigh-in with your brace/tape/etc. on" then the athlete who is not hurt will have an even bigger advantage (on top of the advantage of not being injured).
  7. Which I have not. I am not on twitter, or any social media for that matter. Obviously I don't actually think people should be calling the words mentioned before. I don't think anyone should be called those for that matter. But I don't think she was looking for problems by making the comment. So yes, I was wrong to say 'Rightfully so'. Man enough to admit that mistake and move forward. Apologies.
  8. Like lumping a group of people (that you have never met) together based on one experience?
  9. Don't make controversial comments if you can't take the backlash associated with it. Snowflake behavior tbh.
  10. At most colleges. Iowa, Penn State, tOSU, OKST, ISU, UNI, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Rutgers, Navy, Army, etc. So yes, she's making an issue where there is not one.
  11. And Zo (who is French) is a coach in some capacity and Zahid is a Mexican-American.
  12. I never once said anything about suffering to make weight. The college men (and high level HS kids) are not suffering and starving themselves to make weight. Cutting weight, when done the right way, is not suffering. It's self-discipline and dedication. Period. Won't change my stance on that.
  13. Who said anything about comparing him to one of the greatest HS wrestlers of all time. Lmao. But seriously, anyone with eyeballs and could read a bracket knew he was freaking good!!
  14. Where did I say anything about suffering? Lmao. I'm sure in your 1 year of following the sport, you've got it all figured out. If I was you I would try to start the trend. Just don't let your son cut any weight. I'm sure everyone else who has been in the sport much longer than 1 year will follow.
  15. Who's bumping up for the biggest events? Yes some bump up when the level of competition is low. But I don't see many bumping for S32, Fargo, Ironman, etc.
  16. Sounded like DT wrestled with Hendrickson a lot.
  17. Best thing I've read all day. You win.
  18. Sorry, I should have rephrased. I meant high level HS wrestling. The top HS wrestlers are cutting weight the same way the college men do.
  19. Cutting weight is part of the deal. I like it being a part of our sport to be honest (at the high school and college levels only, I'm against it in age groups below that). It teaches self-disciple, dedication, determination, etc. No one is making you cut weight (or at least they shouldn't be). So if you don't like it, go up a weight. But I think it's a great part of our sport. Now that doesn't mean the process is fun, we all know it sucks. But, the cutting weight strategy has changed a great deal. It's no longer about starving yourself etc. If you do it the right way you can still perform at a high level.
  20. Qualified in 2019 as well. Had multiple career wins over AA's: Hunter Willits (who eventually beat David Carr), Christian Pagdilao, Matt Kolodzik (2x), Max Thomsen, and Ronnie Perry (finalist). Yea I'd say considering the injuries Ke-Shawn had a hell of a career.
  21. I'm sure he's much happier with 2nd than DNP.
  22. He made the round of 12 in 2018. Not sure if I'd call that 'flaming out'.
  23. Frenchie Thompson sounds like a 1980's rockstar...and I like it.
