  1. New username, new year, new me boys.
  2. Just want it on the record. I am NOT Midwest Wrestle from YouTube. I am from Missouri and have never reffed a match in my life.
  3. I agree with you 100%. I think if you would wrestle the national tournament, then you should wrestle the dual/tournament. If you would sit out of nationals because of the injury, then I excuse it. I was just disputing BRF's statement about not everyone being hurt.
  4. EVERYONE is ALWAYS hurt/injured in some capacity. From the time your first preseason starts, for the rest of your life, you are never ever 100% again. Period.
  5. Gotta put Naval Academy on this list. Dual meet wins over Illinois and the aforementioned Pitt (who just beat tOSU). Oregon State also comes to mind also. What they did at 2021 NCAA's was something special.
  6. I would think 149/157 for Rath. O'Toole was much longer and rangier his senior year than Rath is currently. Rath has closer build to Brock Mauller than KOT.
  7. Do you have a list of his top 5 or anything? I'm curious who he's considering. Kid is nails, obviously.
  8. I'm sure this helps with Title 9.
  9. There are 4 active DI head coaches that have won team titles, with Tom Ryan being one. Calling him a "shitty coach" is one of the wilder takes I've heard in a long time.
  10. So you predicted Nico Provo beating Brett Ungar in the finals at 125? And you predicted Lorenzo Norman beating Shane Griffith? What about Izzak Olejnik over Julian Ramirez for the title and David Carr over Cam Amine for 3RD!!! Come on now. This is a bad take, even for Mr. Cinnabon.
  11. A lot of times the defensive guy puts himself in the position of "danger" in order to get the stoppage and avoid the takedown. I think there's a lot of grey area which is why you can't make it a penalty point rule.
  12. Not sure if you're trolling or not. But I wholeheartedly disagree. It lived up to every bit of hype it got.
  13. Being from the St. Louis area, and having coached a few athletes both on the team and committed to the program, this one hit home a little bit more for me than others. This weekend Lindenwood announced they will be dropping their men's program (along with a long list of other sports). This comes less than 2 years after the university announced they'll be moving to DI. Not sure what I'm looking for here, more so just wanting to complain about the people in positions of power at these smaller universities not being able to do their job adequately so they take the easy way and drop programs. It's a damn shame for the kids and coaches involved.
  14. Probably one of the most consistent guys in the country that's never won a title and people love to hate on the dude. 109-13 career record, outside of being pinned last year by Keckeisen (which most people would consider an outlier) and losing to Zahid 12-4 in Dec. of 2019 (RS Frosh year), the WORST loss of his career is 6-3 to Aaron Brooks. So yes, to back the Brain here, he's really freaking good and very underrated.
  15. Besides possibly Nahshon, I don't see any of the guys you named taking that job.
  16. Who would you have preferred replace Eslinger? Not saying he was coach of the year. But he was one of the best options there.
  17. They should have done whatever they had to do to keep Heath Eslinger. He did a phenomenal job there. He was able to identify, and get great results from, under the radar talent from kids from the south.
  18. We can agree to disagree.
  19. Hard to say he didn't do better at Cal Poly than he did at Wisconsin. He was 22-1 and took 3rd his senior year at CALP, with his one loss coming in semifinals to defending champ Griffith (who he beat twice that year). He redshirted in 2021. In 2020 he was the 8 seed at the NCAAs with a record of 23-4. In 2019 he finished 4th with a record of 32-6. In 2018 he finished 3rd with a record of 30-7.
  20. Lot of variables here. In terms of building a program, hard to argue that Dresser is one of the best. Look what he did at VT. They were historically bad, really bad. He made them relevant. Same with ISU.
  21. I know Sacred Heart has a very limited scholarship fund. Not sure about Hofstra's scholarship situation, but I know they have a very small roster limit and academic standards there are tough. Not making excuses for either school. But I don't think either situation is a 'breeze' to win with.
  22. I would imagine his main training partners are Reader & Bono.
  23. Side note from my original question regarding Bono's 'hot seat': Olejnik looked good. He's stingy. Hard to score on. Tricky in that whizzer position. Looks as if the transfer has paid off.
  24. Does the 'hot seat' on Bono get hotter after Hamiti's loss last night? I know it's just one loss for one wrestler. But it was an interesting result to me.
