  1. Honestly this was a just a bad individual match-up for Wisconsin and was easy to see coming.
  2. Probably more than one thing, but a big thing that Askren has mentioned was a dispute over practice facility usage during the covid shutdown when he was doing the Wisconsin RTC gig.
  3. Yeah, everything is fine. Leave it alone.
  4. ESPN+
  5. The Iowa gambling commission wouldn't even come after you for making this bet. They'd feel too bad for you to prosecute.
  6. Right, It's the medias' fault for not asking the right questions! Not my fault at all as the coach. Hard to feel sorry for the coach of a program that has enough wealthy donors to just buy replacements for the suspended athletes.
  7. Cael and Cole were about the same weight in high school and were very well known on the freestyle circuit at the time. I think Cael was considered only slightly better than Cole. Cael, along with Joe Heskett and David Kjellgard (sp) were probably among the top high school prospects from that class, but I don't think Cael was considered ahead of those others, and in fact lost to Kjellgard at Jr. Natls. Destin McCauley seems like ancient history, but he was actually on an Apple Valley team with Mark Hall (Sr. and 7th grader). These were the days when Apple Valley had state title contenders at almost every weight (many move-ins) and as poorwrestler mentioned above, were absolutely hated by high school wrestling fans from other schools.
  8. He did wrestle at Fargo between his 10th and 11th grade (120 FS 16U) beating people like Zan Fugitt, Daniel Zepeda, Dalton Perry, and Kael Lauridsen to take 3rd. Won U-15 World Gold prior to 9th grade year.
  9. Pretty low turnout in Fargo. Mostly just NDSU, Minnesota, and mostly nonstarters from SDSU. Minnesota was without McKee, Salazar, Gliva, but had 7 champs and 12 in the finals. 10. His brother Roman Rogotzke also got a pin tonight in his debut for Indiana.
  11. D2 in Minnesota. Loved it.
  12. Blame it on the trauma of them both looking directly into the laser mat sanitizer thingy.
  13. A lot of good high school juniors and seniors will soon move into the college ranks at 125/133.
  14. And he beat the #1 ranked high school kid at his weight (Forrest) earlier. Quite the performance.
  15. Good match. Kilkeary (trailing 2-0) had his leg up in the air in a tree top position for around 30 seconds at the end of the 3rd but didn't have the height to finish it, and Ramos scrambled behind for a closing seconds takedown.
  16. He has an interesting style that can be tough to wrestle against. The Gophers could have up to 5 redshirt sophomores that would be first year starters and have a chance to be pretty solid...Vom Baur 141, Roberts 149, Brenner 165, Nagel 197, Tabor Hwt. Also redshirt freshman Lyden 165. I think all true freshmen will redshirt, but Movari 125, Wells 133, Riddle 174, McEnelly 184, Nelson 197 should see some action with the 5 contest rule, and give the starter a rest.
  17. Agree, but Riddle shows glimpses, like his 1 pt loss to Josh Barr on an overturned call, and wins over AJ Heeg, Noah Mulvaney twice, Han-Lindemyer, Burkett, Marco Christianson, etc. Most his losses in the past year were up at 182 to pretty good people (Arnold, Naakteboren, Mirasola, Picklo).
  18. I was talking mainly high school when he won a hwt. state title weighing around 210. I believe cutting to 197 his first year set him back and then missing the whole season last year to injury. He did have a freestyle win over Hayden Copass shortly after moving to Hwt, who's no world beater, but very big.
  19. Tabor will go Hwt. He just hasn't put on the weight yet that they expected, but still wrestles the big guys well.
  20. He's a big kid who has to watch his weight to make Hwt. I'd bet he will be playing football at around 320 once he gets on a weight program.
  21. Alan Gelogaev has a medical redshirt covid year available?
  22. At this point it looks like Brenner has the advantage but who knows down the road. Lyden has seemed like someone who wrestles up to the level of competition. He is also coming off missing pretty much all last year due to injury, so I'm not counting him out.
  23. Blaine Brenner is also looking good up at 165. He was 132 as a high school senior if I'm remembering correctly.
  24. I thought they looked really good as did Ethan Riddle at 174, but don't put all that much stock in short goes with teammates. The Bison and Dak Opens should really show where they're at.
