  1. McEnelly 184 and Nelson 197, but I'm sure both will redshirt unless something changes. Gliva didn't wrestle at the open practice yesterday, so I've never seen him and Wells scrap. Wells had 4 takedowns to 0 against Jager Eisch, who is solid.
  2. No official score kept, limited room out of bounds, and running clock. Ref's were present this year but basically just practiced saying TD3 and talked about the rule changes and points of emphasis to the guys wrestling. The Gopher's coaches set the lineup based on early season open tournament results and past performance.
  3. Minnesota doesn't do wrestle-offs, but they had simulated matches last night in the wrestling room. At the contested weights, Blaine Brenner seems to be the favorite at 165, and Garret Joles and Gabe Nagel pretty even at 197. The true freshman class looked outstanding, and while I don't see any of them starting, I expect most of them to get close to the allowed five competitions in.
  4. Did Jake agree to this? He's the same age.
  5. Oklahoma Asst. Coaches, Marsden and Sykora, apart from being 100 pounds different in weight.
  6. or Frank?
  7. As much as J did for the program, everyone knows things were kind of a mess the last couple years and a tough situation for the current staff to inherit. They have turned the corner with the classes of '23, '24, and a good start to '25. Top 5 again very soon.
  8. Not in the least. Top 4 NCAA individual performers from '22 were all bit by the injury bug all year (+Gable gone) and were virtually nonfactors at '23 NCAAs, yet still finished 12-3 in duals last year. Plus, class of '23 and '24 recruiting classes are the best back-to-back classes in recent memory.
  9. Ahh, the age-old debate among wrestling fans. Who looks more "huuger", the heavily muscled, shorter, small framed guy vs. the taller, big framed, less muscle development guy.
  10. That's a problem that's 2 years away. Pretty much the same as every weight for PSU.
  11. I think Lilledahl has the most upside, but probably up a weight.
  12. Some good entertaining matches this year. I wanted to watch Forrest and Rainey go another match, wowza!
  13. He's good friends with Chad Red, so I could see that. Brayton is as classy a person as you will find, so I hope he can regain his form wherever he ends up.
  14. Maybe? I've heard him comment the cut was a tough one for him, but his first MMA fight was at 145, I think.
  15. Yes, graduated this spring.
  16. Brock Lesnar played preseason games for the Vikings. He made it until the last round of cuts I think.
  17. I see what you did there.
  18. One of the reasons he may be moving up is that his brother is almost as big as he is. Maybe both have trouble making 195.
  19. Looks like UNC has already removed Coleman Scott from their coaching staff roster.
  20. Is Kosak saying that Masoumi and Lu are only 2 inches different in height? Watching the video it looked like about half a foot difference.
