  1. Oh...this is just sad. FROM-YOUR-OWN-LINK... You just can't fix stoopid. His actual words...verbatim. YOUR OWN link...and you're like a child with fingers in your ears yelling, "nanananananana....CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
  2. I'll post as long as I choose to and address each point. It's generally not as simple as Nailbender's "nuh-uh," level arguments or posting links that he hasn't bothered reading. If it's too long for people to read, oh well. And I've got no time for complaints about personal attacks on THIS forum. I had less than ~10 posts when there was an abortion thread that was exclusively emotional and every posts involved personal attacks unless you exhibited complete and absolute capitulation. By the way, this is how this thread started; So...again, please spare me the righteous indignation about the posts being too mean.
  3. LOL...you provided 3 links. They ALL quoted the video that I provided. "Step out on the balcony." Not "shoot through your door." You're clearly posting links that you don't read or understand.
  4. You don't even read the shit you post, do you? IT' LITERALLY THE SAME QUOTE!!! From YOUR post; It's like you're not smart enough to understand they're taking the VIDEO of his ACTUAL words and then breaking them down. He didn't say shoot blindly through a door. Every one WALK OUT ONTO THE BALCONY!!! LOL...you really don't know what you're talking about AT ALL, do you? I posted his ACTUAL WORDS. You posted News articles picking apart his words because like I said, it's the intellectually lazy argument. Though, to be fair, I may be giving you too much credit. Maybe it's not intellectually dishonest. Maybe you're just...not capable of understanding what you're attempting to quote.
  5. I'll never understand this logic. Because there are OTHER dangerous things that you CAN'T do anything about(drowning/accidental death) then...why bother trying to do anything about Guns? We put lifeguard at pools. We mandated that. We force kids to take boaters safety classes because there were accidents on the lakes. We just overturned Roe V Wade and made a 10 year old girl from Ohio travel to another state while Jordan called her a liar or a hoax(without ever apologizing). We generally do BASIC shit. This is so silly. My good friend blew his 6 year old brothers head off when he was 9 years old because his Father was a moron who left his guns out. So I DO have fear of irresponsible gun owners. People who have NEVER taken a class and can't be bothered to lock it. How about this...explain to me WHY the NRA fought SOOO hard against SMART GUNS!?! Now tell me it's not all about money and profits. Smith and Wesson, the company who first started and tried to create the smart gun KNEW it'd hurt their sales and still moved forward. But a gun that only the owner can use is SO objectionable, we needed to legislate against THAT? C'mon...
  6. Ok...that's not NEARLY the same as; It seems like you made a VERY poorly worded argument as these two...they don't mesh AT ALL. You said you can't pick and choose and the ONE fundamental truth of the constitution...is that you CAN in fact pick and choose. We wouldn't have a free nation today if you couldn't. The United States was ONE ballot printing error(when they put Pat Buchannan's vote right next to Gore's in the HEAVILY leaning Miami Dade where BUCHANNAN was the one who said the votes were "obviously meant for Gore," or just all the nonsense that went on with the Bush-Gore election. THAT is how close we were to having the Heller care fundamentally change Gun ownership and literally require you to be a member of a militia to be able to own any type of gun you wanted. It would have been a great thing. Not because it would have taken all guns away, but because then, it would have forced a LOGICAL discussion on Gun ownership, extended mags, bump stocks, private sales or the gun show loophole, open carry, conceal carry. It should be a bit tougher to buy a handgun than it is to go on Facebook market place and buy a used Refrigerators(by the way, just got an incredible deal...old guy, moving, sold me a 3 year old monster top bottom and an LG Washer and Dryer set that was less than a year old...all he wanted was for me to take them out of his house! Gave him 100 bucks because...C'mon, 3,000 dollars worth of shit!...really is the greatest Country in the world!) My awesome little story aside, it should be harder to buy that Gun. I'm absolutely NOT against having guns. In fact, as I said, I own 36 myself. I also grew up with Cops(two different Uncles who were firearm instructors) one who was in the FBI...basically, a whole family that was law Enforcement teaching me how to be smart and careful with guns. The class I took for my Conceal Carry...was a JOKE. The very fact that Nailbender thought it SOOO outrageous that you be required to take classes before you're allowed to own a gun as you would to own a Car(he's the one who brought up driving for the record) it shows how...careless we are on this issue. Sure. I'd hope there wouldn't require much conversation. They're ridiculous. They incentivize incarceration, abuse and the lack of oversight is...appalling. If it was just child molesters, fine, but it's not. So any reasonable person who's pro-private prison, I probably wouldn't respect. So I need to assume you find them to be abhorrent as I do. I was waiting for a point and...I don't think I ever found one. Nailbender I believe(or maybe it was you, but I believe it was Nailbender)...made a statement of FACT that there is ZERO empirical evidence that ANY type of Gun Control has EVER had an impact on the number of shootings. I used an example. NOW in the NEVER-ENDING moving goalposts, it's "Australia is different." Well no shit. The United States is about the size of Europe and almost as diverse in it's politics and culture. San Fran is about as different as Rural Texas or NYC and Montana. The POINT remains he argued there's ZERO evidence that gun laws have ever impacted gun deaths. He was wrong. He was far more wrong than just using Australia as an example, but that was the most obvious. I'm also no longer entertaining people who complain about embryo's being aborted when they see a classroom of 20 kids massacred and then don't think there's a SINGLE reasonable gun law that should be enacted to try and MAYBE see if we can stop that. You said nothing here. "If I thought it would change, I'd support it." What 99.99 pct of the time? And please, if ANYONE doesn't get to take the "parroting talking points," line, it's you. The ONLY thing you missed was "a good guy with a gun." AGAIN, I'll cite this sentence that I just didn't understand! Not that it was vague! My point is you can't pick and choose what works and what doesn't work (constitution) when it ALL worked together in order to make us the best country and most free country in the world. Oh, and the gun laws "only stop the good guys with the guns," nonsense. Yes...but you WOULDN'T be. You're not even open to ANY gun laws...because, after all you can't "pick and choose," what works and what doesn't because...the Constitution! It's comical that one SIDE finds it so comical that you should require handguns and semi-auto' be registered, that you should be required to take classes so you know how to operate them. I mean, forget cars, YOU HAVE TO DO IT WITH BOATS! That you can't just sell a gun to anyone with cash. Again, can't do that with Cars either...UNLESS you register them. And yeah, I think you should also be required to have a ballistics tests on record for every gun ever sold...JUST like Law Enforcement does...so you can trade each murder back to a gun. To who originally purchased that gun, to who they sold it to.
  7. Well...as distraught as I am, here are the facts. 1 year left in office for Reagan; Dems approve Kennedy ~1 year left in office for Obama -Republicans say Obama will NEVER nominate a moderate and LITERALLY cite Merrick Garland an example. -Republicans say the voters should pick the next Supreme Court nominee and that if the situation was reversed, the Republicans would NOT fill a seat and you can use those words and call him on it in the future. McConnel also makes the false claim that they haven't seated a SCOTUS nominee in an election year for 130 years. Again, bullshit, they did it for Reagan. -WHILE VOTES are being cast...McConnel shows his ass and does the thing he says you don't do. So to recap, Obama nominates a moderate, one the Republicans had LITERALLY campaigned for and suggested. --Republicans say "no, it's an election year," despite Obama having nearly a full year left in his term and they say; Then ~40 days before the election while people are voting Ginsberg dies and the Republicans nominate Barrett. Sorry, just using his words against him. He's the one who asked me to do it. If you're disappointed...well, again, I'll find a way to pick up the pieces and move on. Now, this wouldn't all have impacted the Heller case, but partisan nominations did. A 5-4 ruling(see Gore v Bush). Where Gore CLEARLY got more votes in Florida, but they made a one time ruling that someone wasn't precedent setting because it was too late to count all the votes in an election Gore SOOO clearly won.
  8. Yeah...again, IT'S RIGHT IN THE VIDEO. Intellectual dishonesty. It's about 40 seconds in. If you don't have 40 seconds, I can't be bothered with you. Biden never said fired blindly through a door if you hear something...you're full of shit. Screw it, I took away the first 40 seconds because I don't know that your attention span can handle it. ----Now...if you believe THIS is him saying "shoot blindly through the door," you're not acting, you really are just not very bright.
  9. Yup! I'm wrong. I only POSTED THE F'CKN VIDEO OF HIM!!! Literally...I posted the VIDEO of what he said, pointed out the intellectual dishonesty and you STILL come back with "you're wrong." I'm sorry, sometimes you come across a particular brand of stoopid that cannot be fixed.
  10. How the hell did I forget that name? I could picture him...I knew exactly who he was, but I couldn't cough it up. I think they make room for him on that team. '65 was a weak spot. I think Becker was big enough to Wrestle it...especially if they're bringing back a kid who's running through College kids as a Redshirt. Becker could have beaten Heskett. Probably not going up, but it's well within the realm of possibility. I mean...Snyder was two coins flips away from being a 2X champ(very good move getting rid of that nonsense). Anyway, I don't think that's why he left. The way I heard it, he just didn't want to go through the grind of D1 AND...he really wanted to play QB...though I was certainly never "in the know" with him and that was 3rd person and you know how that goes. LeVesseur DID break some records playing QB. Being able to play both vs just burned out and getting back into the year 'round grind? I can't fault anyone for that. And he was still 159-0 and a 4X Champ.
  11. I mean, it's a lot just in general. You have just under 10 to give at a time. Using one full scholarship up on one Wrestler, it's just not super common. You'll do that for one of the top P4P Wrestlers in the Country, but generally, you're not going to do it for other kids. There are VERY few guys on full rides and you seldom give a bunch out in a single year. OSU did it last year...I believe they were at ~5.5 and then went all in on this class, but that's a pretty good bet. I don't remember where Askren ranked that year, but he'd just been majored in the State Quarterfinals(and yes, he was injured, but the kid that beat him also pounded the hell outta him on the mat and it was a bad look). He might have been top ~40-50? Crass has produced a lot of good kids from up in that Northern Part of the State, but who's Wisconsin missed out on that they should have gone after? Was Scholes a Crass kid? Not arguing, just...genuinely don't know. Pinnacle has a Minnesota pipeline and UW need to crack through there. At least Hopke. That kid is just different. #1 2024 Wrestler...IMO.
  12. Well...that's a whole other things. Gable used to have his stars who were eating up big chunks of scholarships work camps...and they were paid very well(and VERY legally). So for instance, Mcllravy and Ironside weren't on Scholarship the last two years so they could recruit...whoever was next. Can't speak to other individuals as those were the two I heard about....and Gable was before my time, but that's basically the same thing. JR went to Minnesota and did the same thing. When you're that successful, your camps are in demand and you generate a LOT of revenue. That revenue should go to guys who are NCs and bring the kids in, right? I don't like Iowa, I just want to be clear, I'm not accusing them of cheating. It was explicitly legal(though...apparently a lot of coaches disagreed...including ONE of mine).
  13. I remember talking to Jackson and I asked him, "how the hell does a kid like McCauley lose?" And his answer was...rough. This was a Soph who lost a match vs a stud. You gotta know when to pull back. Again, had a cousin who was a 4X and top 5 P4P recruit(kinda made it so winning 1 or 2 was no big deal in our family...little prick) but he took off most of 6th grade. Went to state, lost to a good Wrestler...spent the next two summers begging to go to camps. He went to camps for 10 weeks each summer, came in as a Freshmen a different Wrestler, won Fargo. Now...this may sound like bragging...which would be weird, because it wasn't me, but it comes off that way. But he was ALLOWED to take that year off when it got boring. And then his Dad was...lucky and in a position to send him to the JR Robinson 28 day camp(I went to that one, but that's where I checked out)...and then just all these different camps. Out to Navy to a camp, wherever. But McCauley was just...push-push-push. No time off. I had a HS coach who made a good point. He said a lot of kids who go year round, they're never really peaking. They're maintaining and then when they get to College, they were so much better, they start to lose and people start to talk about them(when they're a big deal, I was lucky enough nobody talked about me). So it's relatively common for a McCauley type to take time off, move down and have success there where it's more fun. Drawing a blank, but the best kid I'd seen from Minnesota who went to UM...IIRC was like 17-0 and then transferred to Augsburg and won 4 Titles, undefeated AND he played QB and set some records. WE get caught up in "will Levi Haines contend as a Freshmen," and it's because he's that good. But we should probably have more patience or understanding for the Chris Phillips types. Sometimes kids get to the top of that mountain and they don't want to start to climb the next one. (All of this to say, I agree and could have left it there).
  14. Ok, so you're saying that the right wingers LIKE the Bump stocks? Or at least don't hate them? Otherwise, no need to qualify it by saying "you lefties" hate. 2nd, and how much aim to you need when you're shooting into a crowd of 15000 from an elevated position? The point should be clear...this dude got off ~300 rounds in 31 seconds before ANYONE knew what was happening. ~1100 in total and he killed 60 and shot ~500 people. I'm SO glad it'd be preferable for YOU to defend against one with a assault rifle(which...I thought didn't mean anything, but it sounds like you know exactly what it means). How would you have defended against this? Were you the one with your scope...at a concert who spots the shooter before anyone else? 24 ain't real and you're not Jack Bauer buddy. You're not picking out the window he's firing from, picking up your long rifle(or in your case, I guess just an assault rifle) and shooting Paddock. You have no idea how people ACTUALLY react when they're put in that situation...and it's seldom well. I've seen a cop, a instructor who had ~20 years on the job get attacked during a traffic stop and he got off 8 rounds from 10 feet away as the guy jumped back in the car...and not only didn't hit the guy, he didn't hit the car once. There are always people like you who think they'd be the hero and if they were just there when there was a mass shooting, they'd be the one to stop it. Not only is that not likely to happen, you're MORE likely to cause collateral damage...in a crowd.
  15. And he shot nearly 500 people you moron. A women died...fairly recently(well after the shooting) after being paralyzed and as a direct result. You say some stupid shit, but when you just throw out all the people who WEREN'T actually killed...just shot like it's not as "impressive," that takes it to a whole other level. Also, you ever see someone shot? You ever seen brain matter on your clothes and them gurgling as they die...not really there? THAT also messes with an AVERAGE-HEALTHY-WELL ADJUSTED human being as well. So it may only be 60 "kills" for you, that may be the only metric by which you're using, but it was a pretty significant event that caused a whole helluva lot of trauma.
  16. This is an example of intellectual dishonesty at it's finest. This was Biden's comments on the Shotgun...which he'd later repeat. He never said just blindly shoot through a door and you...frankly have to be an idiot to come away with that;
  17. Australia- DEFINITELY not "ZERO evidence, logic, data and/or facts that support banning any gun will stop the shootings from happening." Of course as bump stocks are still legal in this country...meaning, you CAN effectively get the same gun the US Military uses is pretty telling. They're not gonna do anything. It took a mass shooting in which nearly 500 people were shot and ~60 were killed before we even tried to ban them...but of course you had the Gun Lobby funding an appeal claiming that was unconstitutional...and they were successful. But here's your evidence that...it absolutely does work. And yet, I don't think anyone's suggesting going THIS far. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/what-can-australias-reaction-to-a-mass-shooting-teach-us-about-guns-and-gun-control/ -Registration, just like drivers Ed, Gun Education. Hunter's safety, but you could simply add some self defense components. -No extended magazines. You can go hunting for deer with 10 rounds(or you really shouldn't be hunting). -No private sales as I previously suggested. -Ballistics tests on all guns. Do you think people who sell guns may be a BIT more selective about who they sell guns to. I'm not advocating for an Australian like ban, but you can't say there's your long winded way of saying there's no evidence that banning guns will lead to a reduction in mass shooting events. I own 36 guns. I've accumulated them from Grandparents, my Father...I even got my CC. The class was laughable. I also learned how to shoot when I was young. But the suggestion that NOBODY knows what an assault weapon is or that if a gun can kill someone, then it throws the whole, "a gun ban will work," argument out of the window...just like the silly list of guns that have been used in War, literally going back to the gun Custer used. -Oh, and hollow point are not really necessary in handguns. I carry it with me when I go up to my Cabin because there are wolves and Cougars and things like that...but mainly because they were passed down when my Grandpa died. People have fetishized guns and it's strange. None of these things will ever happen because of my prior statement, and because of the NRA which has gotten so extreme and out of control, Bush Sr wrote a letter condemning them in a public way of cancelling his membership.
  18. Yeah, Jimmy thought "sexual assault" by the team Doc was a made up term as well... In fact, he also said the 10 year old girl who was raped and forced to leave the state in order to get an abortion was a hoax. What the hell happened to this guy? I knew him. I was a kid and he knew my Father/Uncle, but...he was a kinda, rationale, reasonable guy. Now it's just performative nonsense. I guess a Presidential Run when they get done with Trump finally is in order?
  19. This is a point they make on the right...and I think they're actually solving all the issues. 1-All Cars have to be registered and insured and you must take a class to be able to use it. Apply this with Guns. Ideally, you would have a National registry. Each gun that's manufactured has a ballistics test done. Then when there's a murder, you find the owner. 2-This would be part of 1, but you need to ban private sales, gun show loopholes. About 5 minutes away from where I live, a man beat the hell out of his wife...she was leaving him. He spent the weekend in jail. The Police confiscated his guns. He went online, purchased a gun, then drove to his ex-wifes place of work and shot her and 6 other people. Now...maybe he steals a gun, or he goes in there stabbing(not nearly as effective for the "if people really want to kill people, they'll find a way crowd") But this man went to jail on a Friday, was bailed out on a Monday Morning at ~8AM, went home...and by Noon, he'd purchased the gun and killed 7 while injuring several others. MAYBE banning that private sale would have made it a bit more difficult. 3-You don't solve the problem overnight, but these are two good places to start. Oh, and on the right, you don't fund groups to appeal the bump-stock ban that even Trump and Republicans thought was appropriate. I just read luchador argue that guns are not for killing people. A AR-15 with an extended mag and a bump stock is 100% for killing people. It's purely a weapon of mass murder, nothing more. There is literally no reason for any citizen to have it.
  20. Ahh...I knew this conversation would involve discussions of strawman....I just assumed they'd be strawman gun purchases. Instead they're strawman arguments. "You conservatives say Jan 6th was just a "glorified tour," therefore, I'm going to assign that absurd argument to YOU personally and use that as a way to undermine your argument!
  21. Yeah, McCauley started at Wisconsin and he was part of the #1 rated class they had back...I shouldn't have included him, I was just thinking about the recruits they'd have for a while and SO many elite recruits just didn't pan out. Beau Breske was another. He went the other way, from Nebraska to Wisconsin. Another kid who had NC type potential...but I think these kids get burned out.
  22. Edit-Woah...went on a rant that. If this is TLTR, I hope Messenbrink shocks everyone and Wrestles between Hamiti and Gomez, but if he goes to Mizzou, he's the type of guy I believe will be a multi-time NC and have success at the next level. He reminds me of a Lincoln Mcllravy...not quite as physically gifted, but maybe with more of Brands mentality on the mat. Off the mat, apparently he's a super easy going kid, but again, he's EXTREMELY competitive...and you're going to lose some team points with him, but I suspect it'll be worth it. In fact, I REALLY hope he doesn't go to Mizzou as he's the type of kid to go up to 165 to try and stop O'Toole from winning 4(even if it's a Covid 4, it could be 4). Just that type of kid. So singularly focused. -------------- Oh, it's definitely Askren in their ear. He's VERY openly and publicly critical of Wisconsin and starts when they're young. He did the same shit with Barry as Bono. It's just Ego. He wanted the job at Wisconsin, didn't get it and now he's feuding over the pettiest shit. And of course Mizzou is a big beneficiary of this. Not sure about Minnesota. Northern Iowa got a Gem. Max, the Wagners, Messenbrink...AWA is mostly run by good, humble guys. Messenbrink...I genuinely believe if he took over as the HC at a B1G school, he'd make them competitive. I think most of the credit should go to him. Askren lends his name to it, but he's the backbone from what I can tell. And then you have Max running one club(Max is so different than Ben it's hilarious). Josh Wagner...the other Wagner(not sure why I can't remember his name). Nick Pell, another Mizzou guy. As for Ben pushing kids away from UW, I don't like it...I have a "problem" with it in that it bothers me, but...he's under no obligation to tell advocate for the In-state program. Even setting aside the fact that he's obviously going to try and push kids toward Mizzou because...that's HIS school. That's HIS coach, he takes it so many steps further than that. But honestly, just opening AWA and having those sites has been great for the State. Wisconsin was always a mediocre state because there weren't enough College Wrestlers coming back and coaching. Now you have Pinnacle(Koy Hopke's gym), AWA with a slew of studs and the Crass Brothers. That's about 9 clubs with really good coaches. That's what's taken Wisconsin from a State that occasionally produced a couple studs to a school that is churning out one after the other. They also have a problem with their admissions. One certain former 3X Champ couldn't get into Wisconsin and ended up Wrestling for Okie St...and he did not have bad grades. It was like a 25 ACT and a GPA around 3.0. But even in Football, Wisconsin has been VERY stringent with their standards. They've raised the number of "appeals" to the Football team gets to 8, but they've still lost a lot of very good recruits in Football as well because of their standards. And don't get me wrong, very proud of Wisconsin and my Degree and all that, but...we're not MIT. Yet only it's Wisc and Stanford with the highest admission standards FOR ATHLETES among FBS schools. With all the money they're putting into a new athletic facility, the NIL group they've got, the Luke Fickell hiring...you'd think they'd HAVE to east up here and get a bit more...lets say "reasonable."
  23. You can though. You LITERALLY can and we were literally given the power to do EXACTLY that. Scotus voted 5-4...so if the GOP hadn't kinda stolen SCOTUS, it could have easily gone the other way and LITERALLY interpreted the 2nd. "In order to maintain a WELL REGULATED MILITIA,".... But yes, you ABSOLUTELY can pick and choose. See how black people are no longer slaves and no longer 3/5th of a human being? That's because we pick and choose. See how we all get to vote for President instead of 68 people like in the first couple elections? That's because we get to pick and choose. We've got to pick and choose. That was kinda the ENTIRE point of the Constitution. Oh, and we're not the "most free" Country. Those pesky "socialist" Countries in Scandinavia are the most free...plus Canada, England, among others. We're the 23rd most free; https://www.cato.org/human-freedom-index/2022 If you didn't have private prisons and Judges who get kickbacks for sending kids to prison, we may be higher, but I think having the most people in prison in the world lowers our rankings in the "most free country" category.
  24. When they kiiled 20 kids and absolutely nothing changed...that's when I knew this was a lost issue. I figured...MAYBE after Vegas I was wrong, but...same end result effectively. Special interests going to bat for "bump stocks," using proxies to do it. It's almost funny. What's also funny is how "crime is up," because a guy had a story about someone laying under his truck to steal gas, but you point to these mass shootings(there have been a string of about 6 big ones in a ~3-4 day period) and that's statistically irrelevant if you add up ALL the days kids go to school and then you add all the schools... Jesus Christ...people think it's normal and healthy to have kids doing active shooter drills. Like that in and of itself won't have an impact on kids. Reading through this thread is just depressing and it explains how Joe Biden and the Ds have won the Oval and then basically won in the Mid Terms. Lying means NOTHING anymore. If it did...George Santos would NOT be a member of Congress(nor would Trump be worshiped with a literal Gold Statue people rub at Cpac, but that's another issue). MTG, Boebert, Jordan... So if lying to get elected to congress means nothing, why are people gonna care about lying or giving..."alternative facts," on message boards?
