  1. Yeah, I heard that as well... That's literally part of his job. To crosscheck everything with USADA. Adderall I don't care about. Roids or some...a testosterone booster is blatant cheating. Too bad, don't think he needs to... but that's a stain that won't go away.
  2. He failed the Adderall test because of a paperwork issue. Adderall is used as a legal PED. The list of athletes who have a TUE for Adderall is incredibly long. I'm fairly sure that was Dake's issue when he lost at the Olympics and spoke about his issue with a medication and then looked night and day different after he got it sorted out with the Japanese Doctor. Baseball, Football... pretty much every Olympic Gymnast in the last 30 years, all had TUEs for Adderall, like 20% of MLB has a TUE despite the fact ADHD, one of the most overdiagnoses conditions is only diagnosed in 4-5% of people. If it's a suspension for not getting a TUE again, he's an idiot. If it's for... steroids or HGH, he's just a cheat.
  3. No matter what OTHER people do... you're a POS Pat. You're SO obsessed with yourself that you've stolen JB's handle and you use it, but...there's no shot anyone else cares about Pat Downey...who was just bragging in a picture about "checking Starocci's oli," and you were about a foot into the lower intestines.... which you bragged about. Pat Downey has nothing to with any of this. He couldn't even make it to the point where he was relevant for his Wrestling, he was just relevant for being SUCH a clown. Chase Marstellar without the success before, after or the redemption story. Jesus... Starocci is accused of something heinous and you've got to babble about Pat Downey again.
  4. Yeah...but it still happened...even if it's stupid. To go down this road, Hendrickson's title over Stevenson doesn't count. And what do you do with Brooks or Nick Lee? Guys who were 1 or 2 seeds and had just 1 loss each(which they'd avenged). How would you have done it? If you lost the ability to compete in the tournament in '20, you get an extra year, but no more than 4? So Brooks still gets the 4 and Starocci and he are done the same year...conversely, Lugo, Pletcher, Moore...Lee, they get another year?
  5. No, your logic was SO stupid. It was after the Iowa duel and you thought because Ferrari ran from him for 7 minutes that you were justified in "pre-emptively," keeping him off Mt Rushmore and saying he stalled...when up until that point, he had bonus points in every match but one.
  6. Couldn't care less about the TUE nonsense. So many athletes use Adderall or something similar for ADHD and it's almost always BS. Simone Biles did as well. If he took something that's banned, that's different.
  7. Of what? 3 Weeks ago Bartlett accusing Starocci of being a rapist?
  8. I think that's insane. Your star Wrestler being accused of rape and then you're OTHER star Wrestler being juiced? That's a LOT different than Gillman being a no-show for really stringent testing rules mostly while at Okie St and...then Snyder is bad, but he was an OSU guy so that's less related to the University. I mean, technically Brooks is as well, but he represented the University for a while. Morally, it's Starocci, Snyder, Brooks and then I don't know if Gillman was even immoral, but again, I don't even include him. As far as PSU should be upset, it's Starocci and Brooks. Even then it's MOSTLY Starocci as it was while he was a student.
  9. Yeah...I NEVER heard anything from Bartlett about Starocci being a rapist. The bullying, I still haven't heard about that, but I don't spend much time on Wrestling Twitter. I don't know what you want from me here, I feel like the only reasonable thing to do at this point is reserving judgement because I hadn't heard anything about the sexual assault(though more likely believing the girls). I don't believe Bartlett said anything about sexual assault and if he did, I missed it. I was defending "them" when you were talking about Gillman. What are you looking for here from me?
  10. Of course not. Maybe OSU, Okie State, ASU...PERHAPS, the Cali Talent. Michigan, Illinios, Minnesota and MAYBE Wisconsin... they'd all have to really have some big money donors get invested in the program. Basically a B1G school or a few others. NC State, Va Tech are a couple others. But "replicate it?" MAYBE Ohio State.
  11. If there's any evidence that the staff knew about it, I want them to be ineligible from the post-season for at least 1 year and I want all wins as a team vacated and... I don't know if you can vacate Starocci's Indvidual title, but IF it's true, he should go to jail. I just read about it. The "Grooming," I think that's tossed around way too easily. 23, 18... But rape is rape. If Starocci raped a girl, there are others and there's ANY evidence the staff knew, that's what I want done. And maybe PART of that is because I do respect PSU, because Cael is Cael and because they represent the Wrestling community so much, but...this is a BIG deal, especially if more victims come forward. There is no indication the staff DID know(beyond the theft and they couldn't prove that)...but if there anything there, that's what I want.
  12. It may be a "fact," but... I don't think Gillman belongs in this group. I don't care at all about the Gillman story. Snyder was dirty and a hypocrite. Starocci... sounds like he could be a felon who has to talk to his neighbors before moving in. Brooks is just a cheat and will forever be known as a cheat...which is a shame and weird as he's like 5'7 and seemed perfectly suited for 86KG.
  13. Yeah... he's still a 5X Champ. OJ Simpson is still one of the greatest RBs I've ever seen. Shockingly you can be a POS and a great athlete. I don't believe the girls... because it's silly to blindly believe(and I just heard about it)... but I sure as hell don't DISbelieve them. I mean...all things being equal, I would absolutely lean toward believing them, but as I've said, I've got literally no details and heard about this ~3 hours ago and then had to leave to take my Nephew "vroom-vroom."(4-wheeler). I do wonder what Cael and company are going to do here. You HAVE to...at the very least keep him away until this plays out.
  14. Did Brooks do something new? I JUST saw there was some VERY ugly allegations against Starocci, but...don't know what Brooks has done(unless we're back to the Religious call-out thing).
  15. Yes... you're absolutely right. When you'rve got little time and you're wating for a transplant, you want to litigate the issue with a lawyer... you moron. What you'd actually do is demand an expidited external review...which the Hospital Social Worker could do as they're also invested in this and a LAWYER would be the last case and would still cost normal people a lot of money. I'm not sure what you're arguing other than just to be a clown. You came in with the 'err...I don't know what world you live in where they don't deny claims,' right after I said they denied claims and everything after is just you needlessly babbling about nothing. Now...this is about a legend of the sport fighting for his life, so... it's stupid to have engaged you this far, but stop. Go to Non-Wrestling topics to complain about insurance companies.
  16. Really? You'd know how to go about getting a 3rd party arbiter and the medical experts necessary? Because in this case MOST people would need the Hopsital to help facilitate that or a lawyer, but sure, only a moron wouldn't know how to deal with the health insurance company denying without knowing why. But fine. Any moron would know. Then WTF is your point with this stupid slack jawed "err....they deny legitimate claims all the time," after that's been...abundantly clear and mentioned several times in this thread? I'm not sensitive, I'm tired of stupid posts. Go fight the power Luigi, I don't care. I'm asking why in THIS case they'd deny it as you can call them a lot of things, they're not stupid and they KNOW there is going to be massive backlash if they deny a lung transplant to an Olympian for an illigitimate reason. It also seems to be upsetting everyone BUT Amy and the actual people involved, so maybe in your infinite wisdom on the insurance process you could explain why they denied and how exactly that worked?
  17. Yes. Give Ryan at OSU at a Bob Nicholls and I'd bet they compete with PSU...or are more competitive at least. Okie State... we already know. They went from a legend...one of the few coaches and athletes who was more decorated than either TnT. Great recruiting and great coaching is... what wins titles. Iowa had a group that maybe could have silenced the doubters with Keuter, Arnold, Ferrari, Deluca, Bassett, Miller, Mocco. They were gonna be STACKED from '49 up and they always find lightweight studs. '25 Deluca '33 Hernandez '41??? They'd find someone like Bailey '49 Bassett '57 Estrada(Or better, but I think HE is type of guy who needs the work on scrambling that Iowa doesn't provide. '65 Miller - We remember he NEARLY BEAT PJ DUKE '74 Arnold If he figures it out, he should contend for titles. '84 I'd say 3-4X NC potential(and he does have that potential) but I'd say it with my chest more, but this is the toughest weight moving forwrad. Sinclair, McEnelly, Ryder, Welsh and Ferrari? '97- Ludington? He's a stud HWT- Kueter NC This could have been their team for 2028 But...they can replace Bassett and Miler, they have good recruits, but I just see really good Wrestlers coming in and they can brawl or they're good at whatever they're good a and I don't see them really developing anything than what they came in with and it's usually brawling. I think Melvin Miller may have been a great fit...I don't know if Basett would have seen nearly as much improvement. But...who knows. And Iowa seems content to MOSTLY be 2nd best.
  18. That is my concern. Ben Askren isn't a normal schmuck like us who go to the Hospital, get home, get a bill and we say, 'well gee, this should have been covered.' It's one of the bigger news in sports. So if the insurance company is going to contest it...EVEN if he were a normal schmuck, you'd appeal it and then you'd have Hospital social workers who could help you navigate this, but a guy with money and a massive following? I won't entertain anymore of the stupid 'wow.... you don't know insurance companies suck,' posts, but for them to do this-this brazenly...it at LEAST makes you wonder if it's NOT an illegitimate denial. And I hope I'm wrong.
  19. You must be reading a different thread than me if you took my postS to come to such a stupid conclusion. I gave you the mechanism to challenge the Insurance companies decisions. I said they deny legitimate claims... I'm well aware of how they work. For a sleezy year out of College or two I worked in Insurance. Please read the rest of my posts before "informing" me of what world I live in or how it actually works.
  20. Dude... C'mon... I don't care what they're "legally" separated from, they CAN legally communicate with each other Which ...AGAIN is why Matt Rhule, the Nebraska HC and former coach of the Panthers came and said, "you want a good QB, it's going to cost US 2M in the portal, that's just the reality." These coaches are talking to the heads of the NIL collectives, they're coordinating. The school can't push you to pay one player, the Collectives can... and MANY of those Collectives...such as the one at Miami that is giving Carson Beck a massive amount of money. Right...so now we're back to the positions and frankly, what year you want to look at. Look at least year, it was Sanders, Hunter...a CBB player I hadn't heard of who were at the top...ALONG with Arch Manning who comes from maybe the most famous Football family(or possibly sports family) in the league's history. Are you off the opinion that the large revenue sports have NIL collectives that make money? LOL...no, they DEFINITELY do not. They basically work as Charities but for...the least charitable reasons. They may end a year with more money than they had going into the year... that money doesn't get spread back over the collective. You just end up rolling it over. I'm dying to know where my money went! I put 10K in just at the start of the year the last several years(not...exactly a high roller). I got back...0 dollars. Any money they make, that just goes into their war chest. You're not making money from it. Non-Revenue... I don't think it changes. Non-revenue is more often just a couple larger donors who are more invested in the programs. I don't think we are on most issues, but on this, I think it's almost 100% race neutral. There may be some nepotism that goes into it...you have teammates who are often given money to entire other teammates. This could in theory happen with the Bassett Family(though they're Brothers). With schools like IMG pumping out 30-40 D1 Athletes a year, the only way I see it not being based on merit at this point is... who has the bigger name or connections and I still think that's in service of winning, not race.
  21. You go on and on about anecdotal evidence and then "studies" and you are using a 2015 study(from 2017...strange they'd not use the 2017 starters) but half the starting QBs are black going into this year(actually...more than half, but it's less than white). The first two picks of the 2022 and 2023 draft...black. The first pick of this years draft class...black. So if you want to argue there's a "racial element to which positions are most valued," then...please account for that?" I mean... it's also Football. They didn't just devalue RB because due to race, they did it because it's an EASIER position to replace. QB is the most important position in Football. Who was the ROY last year? The MVP the last several years? Are you a Football fan? Because...if not, I get it, but if you are, I have to question how honest some of these questions are... this is SUCH basic stuff. The top young QBs, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Wiliams The top QBs in the NFL overall, Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, Burrows. Who's the top paid QB in the NFL? Mahomes. Top paid in GTD money? Dak. You're really muddying this conversation by oscillating back and forth between NFL QB play(which is 10-years old and even a casual NFL fan would know is antiquated)...why QB is valued more than RB and asking if there's a racial component to it(that doesn't even seem serious frankly). Lets go to the 2nd most valuable position. WR. Just like NIL and CFB, the highest paid non-QBs are ALMOST all WRs. Tyreke Hill, Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Ceedee Lamb, DK Metcalf... Terry McClaurin... The correlation is NOT with QBs becoming more highly valued as RBs became LESS valued, the correlation is WRs becoming more highly valued as RBs became devalued. All really moving off the College NFL deals where... you're using a year that fits your narrative but then ignoring the one that doesn't.
  22. Well, they're not the penultimate choice for most of the top Wrestlers now, they're the final choice. But seriously... with Lee, it was VERY publicly Iowa and PSU as his final two schools. So... in this case, that's exactly what PSU was. The penultimate school for him. I'm not at all surprised he identified more with the Brands than Cael. They did this interview with Lee a few years ago and with the PSU guys. Spencer Lee; "What's winning mean to you." A-"It's life or death. That's it, it's everything." Cael- A-"Well, it's a game and we're lucky to be able to go out there and play a game, the process doesn't change because of the tournament, we're blessed to be able to play a game and you just go out there and have fun and see what happens." So...that's a pretty big difference. It's also what I think makes PSU s damn good at winning on the front side of the bracket(prior to this years when they actually disappointed and still had 10 AAs and set a NEW record for the 2nd time in 2 years.
  23. There's a lot of... rose colored glasses here. Kueter needed hip surgery. He didn't CHOOSE Football over Wrestling this upcoming season, his body chose for him. Buchanan-The guy was a 3X AA who'd taken 3rd TWICE in a weight with Brooks and Dean. You also had Parco, Teemer a 4X AA and a 3X AA who took a 2nd and NEITHER placed. You talk about if Gillman didn't try a "merkle," which he may not have done had he stayed at HWC...but what did Gabe Arnold do in the Wrestlebacks last year vs Parker? That was the guy who was going to "shut up Starocci," and then didn't even Wrestle him. Also, saying they would have won 2020 is...silly. Winning the B10s(as Michigan has shown) doesn't equate to winning the team title 2 weeks later. 125-Lee PROBABLY wins it. 133-Both have AAs, maybe RBY wins his first title this year instead of the following year...most likely a ~3-5th for PSU, 5th-8th for Iowa 141-A likely finalist for PSU, Murin MAYBE places. Nick Lee #2 Seed, he'd been back and forth with Pletcher, he'd beaten McKenna the year before. Max Murin-Finished up taking a sixth. 149-Lugo-Favorite PSU-RD of 12-16 maybe 157-Maybe 1 AA here, Young from Iowa...in a loaded weight. Maybe 6-8. 165-Joseph PSU 3X Finalist 2X Champ Marinelli #1 Seed, but had lost to Joseph and he'd taken a 7th, Rd12 and then 6th surrounding that 2020 season. 174-Mark Hall-3X Finalist-3X Champ if nor for Valencia Kemerer Hall is the favorite here as well 184-Aaron Brooks -Good shot of winning the title. One loss to Ventz who he beat and it was a weak weight. Iowa-Freshmen Assad-likely DNP 197-IOWA -Warner-Likely AA-4-8 PSU- Rasheed Beat Warner and lost to Warner- Rd of 12 type HWT-Cass Top 5 The Tournament almost certainly comes down to how future NC's RBY, Lee and Brooks do as well as how big matchup's at 165 and 174 go. Iowa has claimed this "title" despite not actually having won it because they were seeded to do better? Ok...well, one of the two teams has traditionally won the big matches, one hasn't. Iowa is NOT "still Iowa." The Iowa Hawkeyes were the most feared program in the Country. Teams were AFRAID to Wrestle them. They did what PSU does now. They got Freshmen into the finals or beating multiple time AAs, they did it at a time when there were fewer scholarships by getting guys to give up scholarships(by working camps and paying their own tuition). Guys WANTED to go to Iowa. Guys transferred from Syracuse and elsewhere, the entire Midwest wanted to Wrestle for Gable. They had an aurora, a mystique to them. That's gone and it doesn't seem like there's any indication it's coming back. In fact...they mostly just look like the same program as they were in 1995, but what worked in 1995 does work now. The scrambling, the offense, it hasn't evolved with the rest of the sport. Iowa is important to the sport as a whole and...they're a team competing for 2nd place and I never imagined I'd see Iowa fans just saying, 'well....we're still good...we're usually the 2nd best team.'
  24. I think Jordan Burroughs would be a... good coach. I don't know that he'd be Cael or DT's level... but he'd attract a LOT of people. I don't particularly care about Iowa beyond what it means for the sport. And it's just good fro the sport to have a contender to PSU or beyond that, just a strong IOWA Program. People who don't follow Wrestling know of Iowa Wrestling. JB would bring in a LOT of recruits... but what's equally important is building out that staff. I'm sure JB could bring in some good assistants. I'd have said Snyder, but more time needs to pass. I now know what QV is with a prositute because of Snyder...
  25. LOL...yeah, we should be talking about 8th graders and the height of immorality because they... sit out a year! That...THAT'S the horse that needs more kicking!
