  1. No, Lightening...as in "lightening" Spencer Lee's Medal count.
  2. I hear Spencer's Mom wears contacts now...so...she could take out an eyeball in a hasty act, but...I suspect she'd stop at one.
  3. LOL...you took a guy who'd taken a few 3rds and he still barely beat a PSU Freshmen. Not really sure that's the flex YOU seem to think it is.
  4. Oh yeah...if Lightening Luke Takes a match someone with a lot of vowels in their name is gonna go after his knee!
  5. ...cool. LOL...he couldn't have made my point any better if he tried. The generic 'you all say,' comment and he doesn't see the hypocrisy. It's pretty clear he, "SpencerLee," and others are FAR more obsessed with PSU. I mean, look at SpencerLee? He's worried about their prized recruits beating a Penn State backup. LOL...I guess that is what comes with breaking the points record back....to back while Iowa spends on Teemer and Parco and it does not go well!
  6. I feel like we can be reasonably sure. 11-0 this year. Lets assume Mirasola improved more his first year in College than Barr did his 2nd...was it an 11 point improvement? On the flip side, are we sure Connor beats Cochran? IF he could cut to '84...which seems like a BIG cut...he's still likely to get beat. So maybe Missouri makes sense?
  7. Did @Le duke say it was BS that Grad Students were Wrestling at Iowa? I don't seem to really see him worrying about Iowa all that much. Or really saying anything that negative.
  8. Somehow this guy and Jimmy are just...the same person... One is just pretending to be a PSU fan and one isn't. But yeah, you'd have to think very little of Kueter to not take him by major over the 197 who...MAY go 184.
  9. Ok...here's what needs to happen. Crookham transfers to PSU. He Wrestle's Ono early in the year. Ono...not having Wrestled much Folkstyle, he gets a TD or 3 in the first period, he goes down or Crookham takes top(either one) and Crookham turns him...3-4 times. 16 points+the RT. He wins the spot. Ono Redshirts, transfers to Okie State so he can Wrestle for DT.... Behind the scenes, DT has been talking to Crookham, but he planting the PSU bug in his ear. 'We'd love to have ya...just wish we could offer what the NLWC and PSU could...oh well, Okie State is good enough.' All designed to get Ono to Okie State...and it works. Move aside Uetake, Ono is the first, 4X undefeated National Champ with an Olympic AND multiple World Championships! I'm pretty sure after hearing all the theories about how things played out behind the scenes, this makes perfect sense, right?
  10. Yeah...I don't think Wrestling lent itself to as many injuries back when Cael Wrestled. Not that it's even that long ago, but Wrestling was a lot simpler. Shoot, heavy hips. There were scrambles and re-shots, but you didn't put yourself in danger by twisting your knee the way MOST guys do. Just look at how Starocci hurt his his 4th year. It kinda just seemed dumb, but it's how guys do things. I think you're losing a lot more guys over 40 matches. I'll bet the knee injuries are up 200% or more and shoulder injuries are likely down.
  11. This...is a brilliant post! How'd we get this far into the conversation without someone pointing this out!
  12. No...it doesn't.
  13. I don't. I never came across anyone who did steroids in HS or College... I did know one guy who was a prison guard who inferred he did... but I'm pretty sure he just spent a lot on questionable supplements rather than actually using steroids. How? I'm genuinely curious...since people throw this around. If we're going to disgrace the titans of the sport, please have more than the nonsense this thread has been filled with about Penn State.
  14. I think this entire premise is just...stupid to be honest. Brooks is still subject to test. It's not like they only test when you Wrestle anyway. I don't know Mormon law's loopholes and I don't think you can just not eat Breakfast and taking your test(in fact, last time I had all my work done, including testosterone, you had to fast for at least 12 hours). Either way, you stay in the testing pool and if you retire and remove yourself, you have to do so 6 months before you come back. So the premise is entirely flawed. It seems more likely than PSU has this Russian type steroid program...they're just better because they have better Wrestlers.
  15. Well, if it's a scholarship, obviously you can't tax that, but they were talking about NIL money. There's zero chance PSU had all those guys on full Scholarships. I assumed he was talking about a Suriano type deal where they pay you what tuition and room and board is and then pay you on top of that. That said, this seemed pretty clear.
  16. ....and how do you feel about Iowa fans? Good for the sport! LOL...what a ridiculous take. The very region where the best Wrestlers in the Countries come from and have come for...how long, and they're now not "good for the sport?"
  17. The answer to that was 'the Mormons I know eat meat?' Ok, do they use steroids? That was more the issue here. Coffee, not even drinking caffeine is more applicable to the claim that there is some larger effort to avoid testing(when again, you can still get tested if you compete or not) to the open ended "time of cold and famine" meat guidelines?
  18. Yes. That is taxable income. If part of the deal is someone paying 40K for your education, that is considered taxable income. They don't have to declare "themselves as professional athletes," just...self-employed.
  19. Yes, as opposed to weight cutting. You muscle and bone density is loss with these weight loss drugs.
  20. Well...not Schultz...but sure. I would think if you're bulking up, you're probably going to try and get up to ~220-225 while lifting and just not cutting weight(it's about as big as I can imagine Brooks getting). So maybe he just doesn't want to cut at all, even a relatively easy cut. I'm like 99% sure you can still be tested even if you're not competing though, so I doubt that's the reason. Some bigger conspiracy. Like Cael, a guy who doesn't drink Coffee is running some big roid ring for his Wrestlers and scheduling competition around it? Seems...a bit silly.
  21. Yup. It was Taylor's first year. You DON'T think Oklahoma State is passing Iowa? You're either lying to me or yourself...I don't know who.
  22. Being 5'6 helps. Was he pretty big? Sure. 184 Big? No. Deakin one weight class higher and about 6 inches taller was...insane.
  23. Yeah...I think they would... but all three guys you mentioned are big pretty big. This also feels like an odd topic. There are plenty of dudes who are still big, but they seem smarter about their workouts. Spencer Lee...his was like 90% core. That's why he can turn pretty much anyone.
  24. I feel like you answered your own question...multiple times. When did Penn State become dominant? What has happened to Okie State in the past 12 months?
