  1. I did, but it's a cipher. HUGE news. Just need to decode it.
  2. Fair enough(though...it's not really theory, I take your point). It's just when I see a special brand of stupid, I feel compelled to address it. Anyway...Ohio State, Chittum is good. I'd Wrestle him at '65, make he and Paddy figure it out and Cannon at '74. I don't know if there's a kid I'm pulling for more. All the stuff he's gone through and he was still a stud as a Freshmen. Steep curve with this kid it'd seem. How a kid like that misses 22 months of HS, then comes back and this horribly aggressive and exceedingly rare form of cancer comes back and you miss more time...and then you get on the Mat and are in the B1G Finals as a Freshmen, it's beyond me.
  3. Holy Christ is this moronic! You know...you don't have to watch the news, you can just look at CPI and the GDP. The ACTUAL numbers...which is not surprisingly why Trump is dismantling the CBO. He doesn't want a 3rd party to provide the numbers. He wants to tell us what the unemployment is. Remember in 2016 when he was running and he was "hearing," the "real number" was "as high as 10%, 15%, 20%, I've even heard 40%." Just makes things up. Here are the facts; 1-Inflation is a lagging indicator. When a President takes over an economy that just had 15T dollars wiped out, supply chains decimated and then they ADDED another 6T to the deficit, THAT causes inflation. So Biden inherited that. 2-GDP WAS GROWING AT OVER 3%. It's not CONTRACTING. Do you really need help understanding why that's bad? Smaller Economy=bad. Bigger economy=Good. 3-Inflation-Again, dropping. Down to 2.7%. ~2 months into office, it's going back up and nobody seems to care. So GDP growth going down, inflation going back up, the Stock Market NEARING a crash and....we have people dumb enough to say this is on BIDEN? What a special brand of stupid that takes! We tried Smoot-Hawley. The effects? Anyone? Anyone? It led to the great depression. The great depression was good or bad for Americans? Anyone? Anyone? It was bad. Should we do the thing that caused the great depression and just pretend we don't live in a global economy? Everyone who understands economics-No. MAGA-Urr...Trump say say good, Musk give money! Yay! (Just imagine oversized foreheads, tongues and lots of wrist clapping. Oh, and LOTS of John Cena fans among the groups of people who thinks bringing back Herbert Hoover economics is a GOOD move). I'd also ask how the corporate tax rate gets pushed "100% onto the consumer," but you think THIS type of tax...doesn't. Just...blissful ignorance. ALL of this ignoring you don't put tariffs on your allies and IT'S NOT THE PRESIDENT'S PLACE TO PUT TARIFFS ON COUNTRIES. That is SUPPOSED to be an act of Congress. But since we have a guy who is openly talking about running for a 3rd term, the laws seem to be of little consequence. Oh, and AGAIN, Trump JUST a few years ago negotiated the "greatest trade deal ever, a perfect trade deal, a much better deal than NAFTA...which was terrible." They were the same agreements, but as part of his LAST agreement with Canada and Mexico is that you CANNOT IMPOSE TARIFFS. That was TRUMP who wanted that. There's a reason our allies can no longer trust us. Because we lie to them...with Trump, it's a constant. Anyone who thinks doing a good job...that sucks for you...because everyone else sees it when they look at the market and how he's decimating 401Ks and people's Retirements.
  4. LOL...it's so cute you think THAT'S what he's trying to do. First, look at who created the MAJORITY of that debt. Second, look at what his plan is. To then cut taxes AGAIN. So ANY money saved(and DOGE is the biggest scam there is, it's "cancelling" contracts that have already been executed so they can pretend it's more than it is and counting the same expenditure 3X). If you want to look at America's MOST prosperous Decade and when we had a similar debt, look at the 1950s. Look at the taxes rates. Ya know what the DUMBEST possible thing you can do for the debt is though? It's take a GDP that's GROWING and through Policies that have PROVEN to be disastrous, implement them so GDP actually contracts. Growing GDP-GOOD for paying down debt. Contracting GDP-BAD for paying down debt. We want to go back to the 1950s in every way EXCEPT the way that actually got us out of debt. Higher marginal tax rates for the wealthy under...Eisenhower. But that's the part of the 1950s we DON'T want to go back to apparently.
  5. Oh C'mon...there's no slams in Freestyle, the higher amplitude the throw, the more points. I don't know how you can possibly even argue it's not more dangerous? It's common sense. And there's no "studies" to back up Freestyle Wrestling is more dangerous compared to Folkstyle(or Football) because WE DON'T WRESTLE FREESTYLE. Askren's camps, nothing would change there. Do you think if we specialized in Freestyle, people wouldn't still go to AWA? Of course they would. The Granby Camp? Yeah, I'm sure that'd just be replaced by more Freestyle camps. I agree on the first part. Folkstyle will never change, it will be what we Wrestle in High School and College. Our National team is competitive, but here again, 6 spots for the Olympics, 10 for the World Championships. You think that's worth changing the style of Wrestling that hundreds of thousands of kids participate in?
  6. Yeah, he JUST said he was coming back. Spring Practices haven't started. You can't BE back with something that hasn't started yet. And of course it's a real challenge. That...is obvious and it all kinda proves my point. The Wrestling side is the one that's going to hurt from this. I doubt they're telling one of their top recruits he can't come back and join the team. Being able to Wrestle AND play Football was always part of the deal when he went to Iowa. Kerentz already signed off on this. You make exceptions for special talents. Keuter is one of the better FB prospects to come out of Iowa in a while. For context, Tristan Wirfs was a 3 star recruit. The prospect that Keuter was most closely compared to? Jack Campbell. So the fact that within a day or so of Keuter saying he's going back to Football, Ferentz saying he hadn't yet rejoined the team within days of the end of the NCAA tournament...I don't think it means anything. What's there to rejoin at this point? Strength and Conditioning? I'm pretty sure Keuter has been doing those...and he's gotta start to bulk up(that would help his Wrestling). But he goes into the Spring and is the best LBer they have...which is hardly a stretch given who they graduate, you think they're going to say, 'nah, we changed our mind because you Wrestled?'
  7. It's not even about how good he actually is, it's about the fact that HE said he's going back to Football. What I disagree with was your premise that if he was actually good at Football, he wouldn't have taken a year off to Wrestle. Well, does that logic not follow that if he was that good at Wrestling, he wouldn't sacrifice a big chunk of his Wrestling season to go back to Football? MOST importantly, you nailed it right here; I think it's easier on the Football side to go back to Football after the Wrestling training and have success. I think it hurts the Wrestling side a WHOLE lot more than the Football side, especially if he's going to be with the FB team for the whole season. Even if he's not an NFL caliber player...the fact that he's going to be with the team is all that really matters. I haven't seen the kid play other than a few clips(and he sure as hell looks like an NFL type talent with that size, frame and athleticism). But lets say he's not good enough to be drafted. If you start at Iowa, you'll catch on with an NFL team and at least get a shot, but...lets say he's not. It's still time away from Wrestling.
  8. And how douche bags stay douche bags. If you have some great insight or there has been some significant change in the past 6 days since Kueter said he was going back to Football full time, then share that. Don't direct me to a 'presser' by someone I've never heard of. If you have information...share it. Or don't...because that's always helpful.
  9. Oh...well, it is. And no, Football is not 10X more dangerous. I'm not going real far into this, but take this and then apply it to kids who don't have the body control or strength to even bring them back to this type of control and tell me you're "not sure it's any more dangerous." This is a big more dangerous.
  10. No...it's not. Our Freestyle team is...pretty competitive. To the last one...just...no. LOL...you think there's a big conspiracy because coaches are rolling in that sweet, sweet money teaching escapes? Strongly disagree. Look at the rules for Freestyle vs Folkstyle. You get a kid on a double on your shoulders in Folkstyle, what's the ref saying? "under control, under control." Not, "screw it, launch him, see where he lands." Yeah, I think you're wrong about not losing kids. But I agree with your last sentence. They are PRETTY similar. So lets stop whining about it and just...keep Wrestling.
  11. Yes, this is the point I'm making. When I was in School, you played 3-4 sports. You did that at a school with 450 kids in my grade(and mine was a small one). Not...they don't. It's not because of the size of schools. It's because kids specialize in the sports they're the best at. When I'm talking about athletes specializing, I'm talking about the type who would be able to play whatever sport they wanted in most cases. If you're talking about kids who are average or worse in sports, well...that's not exactly the demographic we're talking about here. We're talking about guys like Aedon Sinclair types. Guys who are great at one sport and that's what they focus on and they go and get the best training available and they compete all season because they think(or just as often, their parents think) it's the only way their kid is going to be able to compete. Did AJ Ferrari play Football? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me either way, but I doubt it.
  12. Respectfully, I don't care about raising the level of dominance for the tiny fraction of kids that will Wrestle it. I want to see kids going out for Wrestling. I don't think you'll see as many going out if it's Freestyle(and Greco...obviously we have to keep Greco since this is all about those 6 spots on the Olympic team and 10 spots on the world team)...and to be honest, I wouldn't let my kid Wrestle Freestyle when he was 7-8 years old. It's more dangerous. That's the "big picture" to me. Kids into HS then into College and then into the job market having competed and dealt with everything Wrestling teaches them. You say you're looking at the big picture, but you're not. You're looking at the smallest possible picture from which you could view American Wrestling.
  13. https://www.on3.com/college/iowa-hawkeyes/news/iowa-heavyweight-ben-kueter-announces-return-to-football-for-spring/ Now...I guess the kid could be a liar. You sure he's not...since the way you asked CLEARLY infers you don't believe he is?
  14. Ok...but you realize how tenuous this is? You're disputing his rankings and every report out of the Iowa Camp because he made the decision to spend one season dedicated fully to Wrestling before going back to Football at 20 years old? If Rivals has him as a 4Star and top ~140 in the Country and 247 has him in that same area9a bit higher I believe)...you're saying just...just don't believe it because he wrestled? This was likely his last chance...and he was a Freshmen AA. That's not a bad note to ride off on. EITHER WAY, he's going back to FB next year and I'm not sure what you're really arguing. But if it's he's not actually that good, take it up with all the recruiting sites.
  15. No...no...no. Justify why him supporting Ryder means he's not a good sportsman? Tell me why HIM showing support for HIS teammate is "yet another reason," he shouldn't win the Hdge since THAT was the comment you made that I objected to...not the 20th time you've whined about a dildo being posted. Stay with THAT one. Tell me why him supporting the younger kid who is going to be under pressure and questioning himself now, why supporting HIM is somehow a negative for last seasons Hodge?
  16. The 'fruitcakes?' Yeah, they ALSO know that it's NEVER worked out well(at least not in a global economy) and that the tariffs have taken an economy that was once the "envy of the world," and it's gone from growth to contracting and that those tariffs, they get passed on to the consumer. Those "fruitcakes," also know that Trump has said he wants to cut the corporate tax rate. So...none of what you said makes sense, he's just blowing up the economy to try and bring the 10 year yield down, nothing more.
  17. Why? Why wouldn't he have taken what was likely his last chance to spend a full year focusing on Wrestling? Everyone is wrong because he Wrestled for a year when Iowa brought back all 4 starters in an antiquated system in which seniority gets starting jobs, OFTEN over less talented players? And why would these recruiting services get it wrong? To what end? https://247sports.com/college/iowa/Article/Iowa-linebacker-commit-Ben-Kueter-ranked-a-four-star-prospect-by-247Sports-190384202/ https://n.rivals.com/news/rivals-rankings-week-which-lb-is-best-fit-for-his-future-team- 4 star recruit by Rivals and by 247 and he's playing Football next year. He's long, he's tall, he's athletic and he was a Wrestler. That's LOT of checks in his column. And now he'll have a full year in the strength and conditioning of the FB program. But fine, he's not actually that good. He IS however going back to Football next year as this was always a one year thing. He wanted to be an AA. Check.
  18. No...kids are specializing before HS now. And that's still just flawed logic. 22 kids start on Football, plus you're rotating kids in constantly, kicker, returners. You think you have stud football players who can't be one of the best of those? It has nothing to do with the size of the High School, kids are doing it before then. Bo Bassett never played Football and even superstars like Micah Parsons did it for a year in HS. You're into Baseball, you go into Wood Bat season, you spend Football season getting private lessons and weight training your sport. Working your shoulder muscles for Baseball...etc...etc... Wrestling, you're traveling 3-4 days a week. 10,000. That's not just dawning on parents and kids when they see how big their HS Football team will be. Also, I had 450 kids in my class, we had 75 kids each class out for Football, I played every year. We had 50 kids show up for Baseball tryouts, played every year and 70 kids in the Wrestling Room. I didn't specialize because...my coaches encouraged other sports and I'm too old, it hadn't started yet. But now, they want you focusing on one sport all year round with AAU and...a million other things.
  19. Yeah...I don't even want to say how much I'm down. I was up about 300% the last two years. So I have a risky portfolio. I have time to make it up. My IRA is fine because...you can move in and out without the Capital Gains, but I wanted to keep NVDA, META, AMZN, AVGO and others in my portfolio without selling and eating a lot in taxes. Well...my Tax Bill should be a LOT smaller...unless things change. You literally Smoot-Hawley already create the Great Depression(and it did, it was passed before the market crashed)... I don't know what we're doing. He signed USMCA...which said no tariffs and it was basically NAFTA, but he said it was the best trade deal ever and...now he's going after them. GDP was growing at 3.2% and now it's on pace to contract to negative growth. New car prices set to go up 10-15K and Trump is talking about a 3rd term because, "you wouldn't believe how many people come up to me and say, you have to run again." This was...kinda what i figured, but I didn't think he'd blow it up so quickly. I'm trying to watch a lot of Tom Lee and...I think they call it "Copium." But man, the Economy was SO strong. Last two years, expected GDP growth was like .6 and 1% and real GPDP was 2.8 and 3.2. This year it was projected to be 3.6 which would have set us up for a BANGER of a year and a BOOMING market...but instead, we didn't want that. I'm hoping Trumps plan to tank the economy works soon enough to get a couple cuts, I guess they get the rate cuts and then if they extend the tax cuts and..I don't know, maybe we'll get a bounce back. Trillions wiped out and it's gonna be a blood bath tomorrow.
  20. Yeah...and if you have 300K at 40, you're still doing great. Aggressive and...before these stupid tariffs, you could count on doubling that every 7 years, 600K at 47, 1.2 at 54, 2.4 at 61, 4.8M at 68...though you're spending it by then. I took most everything out of the market as I said I would on here in January(a few days after the inauguration) but...I puti t back in last week. I thought we'd hit the bottom. That does not appear to be the case, but...oh well!
  21. Yeah, Hawks and Sinclair are...not the same. I wouldn't expect Hawks to go back down. He's quite a bit bigger than Sinclair. And I haven't seen where Sinclair said he doesn't like to cut weight(I've also never heard a kid say "I like cutting weight."). I do know his coach said he was so bored with HS Wrestling and he just simply hasn't had to cut weight. I think he went from wrestling 92KG(just showing up, no weight cutting) to probably one extra workout and he was at 86KG. That Jay Aiello match should have been reason enough. He was better(IMO) than him, but it's hard to get to someone's legs when they're just that much longer than you. He just moves so smooth, chain wrestling is incredible, hits his shots to both sides so naturally, Hi-C or a duck to both sides. I would imagine he doesn't like to cut. Nobody does(again, I've never actually heard it and I know Askren advocates going up and not cutting until you're older...to that end, he advocates waiting to compete at all until you're older when talking about Youth Wrestling. It's about keeping kids involved in the Wrestling and enjoying it and getting better...so I understand. But, it'll be his call. I don't believe he can win at 184 any longer. Not after watching the length and size of Ferrari, McEnelly, Even Welsh, he's a monster '74, but he'll be up at '84. I think O'Toole is...bigger than Sinclair. I hope I'm wrong.
  22. You don't need to comment on his off the mat stuff unless...well, you already did. Sinclair was at 195 because he didn't want to cut and...again, he wrestled 220 because he didn't want to Wrestle fellow AWA teammate Connor Mirasola. He was struggling to hold his weight to got 220. Being the #1 recruit at 195 in HS should just tell you he wrestled up so AWA guys wouldn't wrestle each other...he beat Connor Mirasola in who's number 1, but it doesn't mean he's got the frame to '84 or '97 vs the best at the NCAA levels. And he IS strong...I'm sure. He's far more technical though and we've seen him get just physically overwhelmed vs some larger Wrestlers who he was clearly technically better than. I don't think he's "behind" Ferrari, Welsh or most of these guys(he's well behind McEnelly right now). But I would bet money, if he wanted to, he could legally certify for 165. Watching him and Charlie Millard, I don't think there's much of a difference in their build. Millard is more cut. Sinclair is thick in the hips and barrel chested, but he's...~5'7, 5'8 tops. I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's a better Wrestler than O'Toole...and we saw what he did. So I'm just pulling for him to have the most success possible.
  23. Griffith also won one. Starocci had to beat both he and Lewis on his way to Welsh. This was in a debate in which Steiber was given credit for beating a 3X Champ in Retherford...and McEnally was the guy people were talking about, but of course someone could have said, 'well see how many titles McEnally, Welsh and then if ANYONE was the "super" Freshmen, it was Welsh. It was NEVER how he had a "easy" run when he had a bad knee and still beat two National Champs. That's just Calvario or whatever making things up(hence why he's "to lazy to find it.'
  24. Because he tweeted in support of the guy he's been a teammate with...two weeks AFTER the NCAAs? I'm gonna assume you said bet against him and...I'd agree. That whole weight is stacked with young talent. I could see 5 or 6 different freshmen in the finals. I'd probably favor McEnelly, Welsh and Ferrari, but Sinclair is right up there as well. Haven't seen enough of Ryder. But I'd take McEnelly to win it as of right now.
