  1. Silvestri (The challenge lost guy) did emphasize the Lost syllable and not the others. But this version of French doesn't look flat!
  2. Strength and conditioning are obviously important in this sport. But we're so far behind in technique and the international styles rely on technique. Rules are set up to enhance technical advantages. Years ago (60s/70s?) there were 3 3 minute periods. When the Americans started to surge they cut it to 2 periods (and 1 5 for a short while). And even when our conditioning started to make a difference the Soviets seemed like they could score while tired. I don't want this to sound like American wrestlers and coaches don't know the techniques but our reliance on competing rather than training means we might know the moves but can't use them when they count.
  3. I was wondering if he was saying that what they were showing was from the wrong period but as JB said- the time was clearly around 2:00 left which puts it in the 2nd period. Or was he saying that what they meant to argue was from the first period? It was far too late to argue something from the first period.
  4. And the Davidson article shows the same posting date/time as before the edit!
  5. Yesterday, Davidson wrestling has an article showing Stutzman as Head Asst and Clothier as asst. Wonder if Clothier will also switch to Bloom since he was Stutz's asst at Buffalo. Davidson article now only mentions Clothier.
  6. That's what it says on his IG (no, I don't follow him- his IG is public). He shows himself in a CS-Bak singlet doing his split (uses more fingers this time).Captioned as The Most Anticipated Comeback Celebration of All Time. But a comment below says he will decide within a week or so - comment was about two weeks ago.
  7. I believe it's Antonio SILVESTRI Germany- Chief of the Refereeing Commission of UWW.
  8. How sure are you that DT kicked him off without talking with the school?
  9. Sergei first came over before the breakup of the Soviet Union
  10. You mean like Sergei at Michigan?
  11. Does Dan need some Collagen?
  12. Once wrestling is actually eliminated from the Olympics, more schools will drop since that's why they keep them.
  13. But at the time, Trump expressed support for Walz's handling of the protests, according to a recording of a phone call obtained by ABC News -- telling a group of governors that Walz "dominated," and praising his leadership as an example for other states to follow. "I know Gov. Walz is on the phone, and we spoke, and I fully agree with the way he handled it the last couple of days," Trump told a group of governors on June 1, 2020, according to a recording of the call, in which he also called Walz an "excellent guy." "I was very happy with the last couple of days, Tim," Trump continued. "You called up big numbers and the big numbers knocked them out so fast it was like bowling pins."
  14. I didn't say you didn't say USADA. I was referring to the last paragraph but misread part of it.
  15. That's USADA not WADA and from 2014. But it seems to imply that WADA allows it.
  16. What do you mean by qualification process? From USAW or from UWW? I don't believe there's any UWW qualification for Worlds. USAW will have this- https://usawrestlingevents.com/event/2400279802
  17. Study the Europeans in most sports. They don't over-compete. Check what NBA coaches are saying about the European players. They practice and learn fundamentals all the way through- especially early. When Sergei came to Lehigh around 1990 and saw what the local high school teams were doing. He thought it was crazy. We wrestle Tue/Thu/Sat often. So when do you practice to learn? You're either making weight the day before or recovering the day after. I know you didn't say to compete that much but thinking that competing should be high on the list is very American. They go to a few lower level events and then to what they need to qualify for Olympics. They don't usually send all their top guys to the duals trips or World Cup. Remember how bad the seeding was. The top guys (including Americans) didn't go. Seeding isn't for the top guys, it's for the other guys. As an aside- they should have followed the original thoughts of seeding- past World/Olympic placings.

  19. Not sure about locations but they are highly syllabus dependent. In the Soviet days, they might have their best coach early on teaching from that syllabus.
