    I only see 3 other names mentioned. Koll- WWII before winning (although OP said or implied not including WWII vets), Ruth- service after Lehigh but before winning titles at OK, Jones- service before college. So who are these proud few others that screwed this up?

    As I recall- the numbering displays mat assignments. Something like under 100 Mat A, 100s B 200s C 300s D. The Mat letters might be rotated differently but I believe it's something like that.

    I often have to remind people that it's generally not the top guys that get "screwed" by bad seeding. Normally, it's the other guys who have to face that guy early on.

    Dual at Atlantic City, as I recall. The next week or so at World Cup, Sergei teched him. Ricky was very dangerous especially from a scrambling point of view. The two got into what appeared to be more of a folkstyle match (rolling around).
