Cornell with Rob Koll or Iowa State under Bobby Douglas? None have any chance at a 5 time champion. Just the bad luck associated with Covid altering the landscape and allowing a fifth season for some wrestlers.

Cael Sanderson can become the first NCAA wrestling coach to run the table with Champions. Eight one time winners. Five two time winners. Four three time winners. Two four time winners. Then, we have ONE who can become a Five Time Champion. We are talking a team under one coach, not the whole history of the school. If we limit this to 4 timers and down, maybe Cornell is in the mix? They have two four timers with the same coach. Not sure about 3 timers during the same regime. If Aaron Brooks comes back and wins a Fifth Title - he will stand alone, as will his coach. What do you think, will it happen?

Cornell will change the rules a bit to get a 5 timer to go with their 4 timers. Gotta be flexible. If not he will go for the Campbell University Fighting Camels. Performing on that mat... has to be worth at least three extra points per match.

He is entering the Portal and will transfer to Cornell to go after his fifth title.

Any competition that allowed mat time and not just punching would find John Smith beating the famous Bruce Lee. About the same weight John would take him down and punish him. Dan Gable would do it also - with more emphasis on punisment as his grinding style was built on it.

Iowa was laughing and making jokes and is now the one being laughed at and the butt of Jokes. Cael(& Co) has Penn State in the rarified atmosphere of the historical Oklahoma State and Iowa programs while at their best.

It was time for John. He was that grumpy old fart yelling "you kids get off my lawn". He looked 80 years old and unhappy - even though only 4/5 years older than Tom & Terry. OSU looked a bit better this year - until Iowa woke them up to reality once again - and Iowa really wasn't any great shakes either. Really hope John goes into calling matches. Especially Olympic and International freestyle. His analysis, commentary and calling out what could be done was great to hear during the matches. Wish him the best. All time great - but it was time to walk off the mat.
