  1. You're always going to get this when you have a sport where most of its fans call themselves "christians"
  2. Smack My Bitch Up by The Prodigy
  3. Peyton Robb
  4. Looks like Stanford v Va Tech is the big matchup unless I'm missing something. Sloan v Allred should be good too (assuming it's not duck season)
  5. Bartlett wins plenty of matches w/o taking risks. I don't think it's the most fun style to watch but you can't argue with the results. Even in his match against Cornella he was never at risk of losing, he's very similar to the way RBY used to wrestle Desanto. If RBY would have got into a shooting match he still would have won 80% of the time but if he was careful Desanto had no chance. It's like if Floyd Mayweather Jr wrestled.
  6. It's too risky. Look at a guy like Bo Nickal, he probably would have been an undefeated 4x champ if he didn't try crazy throws a few times. IMO the only reason to go big like that is if you're a big underdog and are guaranteed to lose anyway.
  7. What a bunch of champs these Hawkeyes are! Their #1 and #2 ranked guys were both gifted wins.
  8. I heard people saying 141 was possibly bonus territory for Iowa and they were lucky to win and now Voinovich decided not to take a committed shot at 149? This isn't going to be close.
  9. Howard actually looked good in his first match but struggled in the next two. I'm not sure if it was because he's not good enough or because he hasn't competed in over a year and his conditioning isn't there to wrestle multiple matches in one day. It just doesn't make sense. He was a blue-chip recruit who was a beast in HS so he shouldn't have lost to those guys unless there is something going on.
  10. He already used his regular RS and can't take an ORS since he wrestled today.
  11. BIG TEN ACC
  12. That would make more sense. Every year the defending team champs wrestle a dual against an all-star team.
  13. Where would USA Wrestling be w/o NLWC?
  14. Kurt Henry from Michigan. I feel like the news out of Iowa may change their lineup a bit now. With half the Hawkeyes suspended PSU might shirt a couple guys and still cruise to a title.
  15. Isn't Gabe Arnold supposed to step in and beat Starocci?
  16. Is it cool to promote your own stuff that's behind a paywall here?
  17. It would have been a much better fake if he would have done it with a team that would actually take him.
  18. He must have just barely missed the academic requirements at Harvard
  19. As a PSU fan I'm saying he should get a lifetime contract. Is there any way we could take up a collection to pay them to stay on longer?
  20. I think Iowa might need to offer bullet-proof housing and vests along with their bags of cash. Guys know Ferrari's sister will be around the team and don't want to risk getting shot for talking to her.
  21. The thing is that nobody was going to compete with PSU either way. Kids want to be champs and if they can get in they're not saying no. Even without transfers they'd have had six returning AAs that all fished in the top-3, who was going to compete with that?
  22. This forum is slipping, I was looking forward to hearing why this will actually be bad for PSU. My guess is that Facundo stakes an ORS and Mesenbrink steps in at 165.
  23. Embarrassment of riches is a huge understatement at this point. In the preseason I said they should redshirt Haines because they wouldn't need his points and I was right, they would have still won going away even w/o his 2nd place finish. i have a feeling this will be the case w/ LL as well. They're going to be fine with Robby Howard until 2026 so by the time LL steps in he'll have had an entire year in the room turning into a beast. In three years the premier tournament is going to be the Black Knight Invite because it will be the only chance people get to see PSU's hammers wrestle each other
  24. Nagao has three years left and LL doesn't graduate until next year. As I see it LL redshirts Nagao's Jr year and then Nagao bumps to 141 for his Sr year to make room. I also think it LL won't matter with Lagao because LL looks like a career 125 guy, it's the other guys like Howard, Davis and Gibson who will be battling for a spot. My prediction is: 2023 Davis-Redshirt 125-Howard 133- Nagao 2024 125-Howard/Davis 133 Nagao/Howard 2025 Gibson and LL redshirt 125-Davis 133-Howard 141-Nagao When you factor in the inevitable injuries I think they'll be able to make everybody happy. A lot hinges on Howard and if he can ever get healthy.
