  1. The info on "8 kids missing weight" came from Pyles' conversation with Valencia's dad. It seems as Mr. Valencia is the source for the "eight guys missed" info
  2. https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2018/03/01/lenox-students-vote-to-keep-contentious-millionaires-mascot-name/
  3. I considered bot Nate and David.
  4. Awhile since I posted here!
  5. Wonder who game planned it? Carr? Metcalf? Dresser? etc?
  6. Not the "men's style.'
  7. He would have had that word if the old forum existed in 1970.
  8. Won my first (sub-varsity). Did not win another for a little over a year (also sub-varsity). Won my first varsity match as a Junior , probably late in the season. By my senior year of college I was beating guys who were placing 2nd (by pin) and 3rd (16-14) in my state during my losing streak. (Large prestigious one class state.) Armpit hair and weightlifting go a long way! (But I was really bad my first three years of high school)
  9. I think the Steven Mocco era was the first to end, at the hands of one Leonce Crump.
  10. You forgot about knee sleeves and/or clunky braces.
  11. Why no nearfall with two swipes?
  12. Interesting pairings at that tournament, as well.
  13. Speaking of which, I have been privileged to spend some time with Nate Carr, Sr. Amazing duck series!
  14. I just don't see that.
  15. That's his base. Just like Madsen's base is Greco. And TBH Couture, Lindland, Sonnen have a base in scholastic wrestling. Everyone trains all the disciplines. I see a lot of guys who miss weight and lose, because they weren't working hard during camp. Paulo Cost who was about 40 lbs over when he entered the ring for the Vettori fight is an example. Dawson was a replacement, might be why he missed.
  16. Choked out by an American high school wrestler from Wisconsin, who was a replacement for the original opponent.
  17. Clinch work. That is about it. Most of the mentioned Greco guys were attacking legs. All wrestled high school and collegiate, too.
