  1. One guy took 4th at the other school and then injured himself again at PSU. "Improperly managed injuries.' Another guy chose to wrestle freestyle during the season. "Improperly managed athlete who had multiple seasons lost to injuries at PSU." But this has quickly been forgotten about. I think PSU probably needs to dial back the "1970s style training methods."
  2. Because voting to ignore past results got his 125 the #1 seed over Glory. Thus, he didn't mind Yianni at #1. It is not what is best for the sport, it is about what is best for his team.
  3. Like this? https://www.yorkdispatch.com/story/sports/college/psu/football/2020/01/08/penn-state-suffers-two-wrestling-injuries-could-derail-title-hopes/2842535001/
  4. Yeah... now Iowa is responsible for Covid!
  5. Yianni's coach voted to keep the seeds the way they were at EIWA!
  6. Despite what PSU says, I find it hard to say that Brooks won B1G as a true freshman. He was a greyshirt and focused on training for a year after high school,
  7. I thought he retired? https://www.nj.com/highschoolsports/2020/03/126-pound-final-bergen-catholics-robert-howard-leaves-legacy-for-all-to-see.html
  8. Are you saying PSU mismanaged an injury? I thought only Iowa did that!
  9. Showing that people of different sizes can compete? I don't get what is wrong?
  10. Completely unrelated to the topic, but I also think Terry's actual development took longer. I once heard him say that Tom wrestled almost entirely with a left lead, whereas Terry wrestled both. Tom was primarily single to your right leg and high crotch to your left. Terry said it took him an extra year or so to be really good, because he was trying to perfect both shots to both sides.
  11. Weigh-in protocols. Recruiting violations. PEDs. Greasing. What else?
  12. They reference that zoo fact from time to time. This was something else that Pyles didn't want Askren to talk about because Pyles was worried about the fallout. "Cheating allegations" was a term that was used.
  13. Maybe they were talking about Witchcraft's potential to throw Glory? That would explain why I thought they were talking EIWA and you thought they were talking OSU?
  14. Kinda like when Sasso wrestle Yianni. Sasso's scrambles, that seem to work so well against everyone else, tend to fall short.
  15. I'm not insinuating anything, but I am curious as to what Askren was insinuating. My guess is you may be on to something based upon what the Flo Bros were discussing when Ben brought up the "rumor."
  16. Yes. You have achieved what you intended to achieve. Congrats on that. My issue has never been with Iowa seeds, and I am not sure why I am being congratulated on Iowa's B1G performance. I was almost 700 miles away in Raleigh (and I didn't wrestle.) My issue is with your flawed reasoning and the insult levied at the military. My Wolfpack has decent seeds, although Hidlay looks to be in a lot of trouble.
  17. I have a problem with this. And 2nd place in B1G is literally not "middling." You may have some issues.
  18. Although I don't have a problem with Parker as the #1, I think many do. This is probably the #1 most complained about seed.
  19. On FRL yesterday, Askren brought up a "rumor" that he had been made aware of. Pyles cut him off and said that he didn't want to deal with the damage control that comes with "cheating allegations." Askren dropped it, somewhat reluctantly. It seemed they were talking about 125, perhaps highly seeded, maybe EIWA? Anyone have any clues?
  20. Very minor taunt, Calls Spencer for stalling late in the match. Really not a huge deal, but probably more than Cardinale would feel comfortable with today. Also, keep in mind that it was pretty much an established fact that Spencer had been hurt in the Big 10 final, as he was caught on camera telling Brands he had torn his knee.
  21. Isn't Cardinale the kid who was taunting Spencer when Spencer was wrestling him without ACLs in the 2021 tournament?
  22. It is though. It plays into coaches rankings.
  23. On this and some other boards, I am seeing complaints about seeds of past champs, and other notables. It is almost as if people don't know that Griffith has multiple losses, Dean has multiple losses, and Brooks has a loss and really not a lot of matches. "They are trying to bury Sugar Shane in the brackets! It is a plan to give Carr a loss so that O'Toole can win. It is by design" "Who are the idiots who put Brooks in at #3?" "Dean will win. Penn State shows up at Nationals. Dumb to make him a low seed when you know PSUs record at NCAAs." I have seen variations off of all of these. My head hurts.
