  1. I am happy to be wrong, if so. I enjoyed his movement and if he can keep that, while improving his skillset and power he could be a sleeper.
  2. I 110% respect the way he handled the 'why didn't you leave your shoes on the mat' question. The response of "I'm not done with wrestling, so why would I do that?" sort of answer is lovely. He said he understood what some of it meant and why some folks would want to see that, but he isn't done, he is just done wrestling as a competitor. He even mentioned Zahid specifically and said that now he gets to work with him to get him to the same level and help him earn those experiences and accolades. It was a great response.
  3. Tabor might be 265, but he isn't 265lbs of functioning muscle, when he was 220lbs last year. Nobody puts on 40lbs of functionable muscle in 6 months. Edit: I agree on chance of getting hurt. I still believe Nelson is a better option because he is a much better wrestler. There was nothing that Tabor did last year that could make me think otherwise.
  4. I hope he does, too... but not getting Nelson in to the lineup when he was the recruit he was is going to be a tough bullet to bite. So you're saying even if he cannot earn the spot at 197, he is okay holding 197lbs all year when he could potentially beat the guy the next weight up and get experience?
  5. Damnit, DT. Shoes stayed on.
  6. Some of us have another American to watch... c'mon man.
  7. Oh no. He's back on the mat.
  8. He looked like he thought real hard about it... ... and did not take them off.
  9. Do we see him take his shoes off?
  10. It was a garbage-time takedown, to be clear, but still two points.
  11. Last second TD for DT - wins 6-2. BOOM
  12. I hope he lays it on and separates here. Back to dancing around, though.
  13. BOOM another one. Up 4-2.
  14. TAKEDOWN David Taylor. Put together several shots in a row and finally got one to convert.
  15. DT is going to go on the clock early unless he scores in the first minute.
  16. 2-0 for Ghasempour at the break. He is controlling center. DT has shot once, and he had zero penetration. Ghasempour shot once and converted.
  17. Yeah, he got called for action twice pretty quick after DT was called for it first.
  18. Ghasempour appears to have a solid strength advantage here.
  19. Wow, Ghasempour put on the clock. That was surprising. He gets a takedown pretty quickly after that as well. Up 2-0 with 49S to go in the first.
  20. DT and Ghasempour up next!
  21. Kentchadze wins gold via 13-4 domination of Magomaev. Magomaev after the first minute didn't have anything for him.
  22. Kentchadze is living on Magomaev's legs here.
  23. Vito needs to go wherever Ono is not. Nobody is touching this kid.
  24. It might also be 57 KG +2, which they have done in the past there, which is ~130lbs. He is freshly at 132lbs, so that isn't so bad, right?
  25. I think I would prefer to see Bassett at 149, honestly. Imagine 133 - 141 - 149 Forrest, Blaze, Bassett... That said, I believe all three are registered for the Bill Farrell the following weekend. Forrest is registered at 57 KG, too - at that. Edit: As of right now, only Forrest is actually registered.
