I actually think Caldwell didn't take it too kindly... the 'game' that Woods was playing. It was fun for Woods, but I think Caldwell actually didn't like it. I was pensive at first when I heard Edmonds to 149lbs, because his success at 141lbs was limited, and sporadic - albeit he could wrestle close with anyone. Then he went to 70 KG (~154lbs) and won the U23 title, so I am much more happy with the idea of him at 149lbs. Lamer will always be the 'one that got away' for me. Kid seemed like dynamite when I met him... good, firm morals. Now he's on his 3rd school in four years. It's just disappointing we couldn't keep him at UofM. Thought you meant Mizzou's David Cross. To which, I was like 'Master Crane?!' Then I look now and see that he isn't on their roster. He was last year, but hasn't wrestled since the 2023-24 season - so now I am sad.

I am just upset that it probably has a higher accuracy than I would have picked. I think Nickal is going to pin him or get beat... Cardenas is a big, long grinder who specializes in Freestyle. Bo isn't going to be able to 'hip' in to him like he did Moore. Pindrickson will win via Pinfellery or Techfellery. He is bigger, faster, stronger, and better. It's going to be a clear mismatch on the mat. Blades is a punt pick. There wasn't any way it wasn't going to get that one right - no disrespects intended. NATO - Ramos at 7-4? I don't know. I think it ends up being a wide Decision for Ramos (12-4 or so) to a Tech or a grinding victory for NATO, like 3-3, 4-4 or the likes. Johnny D and Bajjie? Bajjie hasn't looked good in YEARS, and I know Johnny D doesn't look right, right now... but 9-3 Johnny D? If he is up that much, he's winning via Tech. If it's 9-3, it'll be Bajjie winning. Just how their styles will play out (I think) at this stage in their careers. This one is tough, because I don't know if either of them are in wrestling shape right now. Palmer and Gomez? I don't see how we don't see Palmer fly at least once with the checks he is writing. Palmer got completely dominated by Jenkins in a proto-wrestling match (it was supposed to be a fight - it wasn't). Jenkins tossed him several times in that match. Gomez is planting him on his head at least once. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gomez get countered... but if that happens Gomez will send him flying again. It's going to be a Tech or a Pin. Even Wick - Jason Nolf? How far from competition is Nolf, as far as competition shape goes? I know Wick can be a difficult draw for anybody under 6'6" tall, but Nolf is Nolf and if he has his cardio under him (which recent videos of him rolling around at Oklahoma and other places show he does) then it isn't going to be close. Might be low scoring first, but Nolf shouldn't give up any offensive points. I expect a 6-0 to 10-0 type performance from Nolf. Folks forget the last time we saw him take the mat in competition he beat Burroughs (blanked him), preventing JB from making the Best of Three OTT finals. Hildebrandt over ZHG via tech is as safe a pick as Blades. Even with her being 'retired' for a year now. Dake - Hamiti? 8-2 seems about right. Dake might not score that much, honestly, but it could be 4-1, 4-2, or 10-0 and I wouldn't be surprised. They will all seem dominant. Even a 3-3 win would seem dominant, I think. Woods - Caldwell? 6-1 seems plausible. With where their careers are right now, for Caldwell to get a Takedown on him, I would be surprised. I expect Woods to grind it out, get 1 or 2 takedowns and 1 or 2 exposures. Maybe a step out or two. That would be a good result. Take with a grain of salt, as I am also playing devil's advocate now.

I think it is absolutely stupid when there are three shot clock points awarded. The ref has essentially decided the victor there.

Yeah... being that Blaze is the only one who made ANY offensive attacks in that match, I think he'll be just fine going forward. It was 2-1 and Blaze was down... all on shot clocks, despite Blaze making the offensive effort. He was pushing him out, made a reaching shot and Mendez got behind. The match was weak on Mendez's part. Blaze was the considerably smaller guy and he couldn't capitalize.

Michigan has a battle forming for 157 & 165 it seems. Three guys for two spots. Cam Catrabone Justin Gates Dylan Gilcher All should be NQ type level at a minimum. I think 157 is a better weight for Catrabone and Gilcher and Gates was a high-profile Davison recruit (Facundo, Metcalf, Reader, etc), so I think they're expecting a bit out of him. I am curious if Walker can suck himself down to 165, with both Mantanonas moving up to 174 and 184, respectively - I assume they didn't do that to ride pine. Walker against either of those, or perhaps Walker inserts himself in to the 165lb conversations (or the other end - 197lbs?)? Walker isn't coming back to also ride pine - he wants to start. Speaking of Walker, his brother Zar has potential to grow, too. He came in as an expected 133/141 and wrestled as high as 157lbs last season. He could enter the conversation at 157/165 as well.
