True. But I was staying within the current framework of ten weight classes.
-
It's not that difficult to blend-in the weight classes prior to the 1998 seven-pound increase (1970-1998). Or, if you're adventurous, include the eras prior to 1970. This covers you back to 1952, when ten weight classes were introduced. 115/115/118/125 123/123/126/133 130/130/134/141 137/137/142/149 147/145/150/157 157/152/158/165 167/167/167/174 177/177/177/184 191/191/190/197 UNL/UNL/HWT/285

Can you predict your favorite team's lineup for next season?
lu_alum replied to flyingcement's topic in College Wrestling
Your post might make sense if Truax was a full-feed 197. Reality is he was only three pounds over 184+1 on day two if this year’s tourney. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

No He’s indicated in past interviews that 157 is the perfect weight for him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Yes, until Mark Perry got NF3 in second period of the national SF from a crab ride. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You are correct. The embarrassing part is I actually knew about Conklin and Maurey.
-
That honor belongs to Mike Johnson (Lock Haven HS). Career record 84-0. Never taken down in HS. Went on to wrestle for Pitt.
-
He actually answered (or lobbied for) this in his championship interview last year. He came back b/c he got paid NIL money. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

True. I recall that Shane had indicated a desire to go 174 the first time he floated the idea of entering the portal. However, I don’t see Michigan as his landing spot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Cooperman's four years at NCAA... He was a monster on the back-side of the bracket, with 10 bonus wins in 13 bouts. 2003 (#6 @ 133): Did not weigh-in 2004 (#9 @ 141): Top-Side: LBF, 0:26 in Pigtail; Consolations: MAJ, WBF, TF, WBF, DEC, (Loss to Gallick, 4-2), DEC for 7th 2005 (#4 @ 141): Top-Side: MAJ, DEC, (LBF, 6:18 to Andy Simmons in QF); Consolations: TF, MAJ, WBF, MAJ for 3rd 2006 (#3 @ 141): Top-Side: DEC, MAJ, WBF, (Loss to Ware, 2-1 in SF); Consolations: MAJ, MAJ for 3rd Top-Side record: 5-3 Back-Side record: 12-1 (3 WBF, 2 TF, 5 MAJ, 2 DEC)

Don't feel bad about benefitting as the 3rd place finisher. The three-way payout above follows what you and I discussed prior to the draft.

Very similar to when he swept RBY (both wins were TFs) in a best of three series to make a world team in 2018. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Bigger upset: Ramos pinning Lee or Vito beating up RBY?
lu_alum replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Vito was not a huge surprise. Admittedly this was five years ago, but beating RBY with his quickness was nothing new. -
I can live w Option 2. Top 3 getting paid in a 15-person competition seems reasonable.

They don't hate me. They understand that go into the zone the first three weeks of March. Yes, there are those buried in the desert. However, the more interesting revelations of late are the bodies appearing as the water levels of Lake Mead continue to drop.

Absolutely agree 100%. @BobDole @Husker_Du... are there any provisions in the forum guidelines to put @Jimmy Cinnabon in a penalty box for an extended period of time? His BS is beyond frustrating.

Not a finalist, but Humphreys will likely petition for a medical year. He blew his knee at the beginning of the 2020-21 COVID season. He's only competed in three NCAA tourneys (R12, R12, 3rd).

Doesn't matter to me. Fun contest - I moved up one spot after being in the basement last year! Definitely need to draft on Zoom next year & a little earlier in the day. Here's a frustrating tidbit about the 25 minute traffic delay I got stuck in on draft night: I had to drive from work to pick up my daughter at gymnastics practice. When I dropped kids at school in the morning, told her that I had an important meeting at 6:30. Make sure to be ready at the door at 5:50, so we can make it home on time. It's typically a 25min drive from gymnastics to the house in evening traffic. 20min before school ends, sent her a reminder text before Mom picks her up to drop her at gymnastics. She confirmed she'd be ready at 5:50p after practice. I leave work at 5:15p (30min drive across the Las Vegas valley from Summerlin to Henderson). Get to gymnastics at 5:45p I'm waiting in the car to pick her up after practice. waiting... waiting... waiting. Finally, I call her at 6:00p. Me: "Where are you?!?" 13-year old daughter: "I wasn't feeling well, so I just had Mom bring me home." Mind you, she made this decision 20min after she confirmed she'd be ready on-time after gymnastics. Never occurred to her that she should let me know I don't need to go to the gym. Had I driven straight home from work, I would have arrived at 5:45p I leave the gym & get stuck behind an accident on the 215W between Henderson and Las Vegas. GPS stated 45min delay & I hit the surface streets to cut 20min off the delay and make it home by 6:45p and start the draft at 6:50p 13-year old daughter lost her iPhone and iPad for a week. If we draft on a weekday next year, I'm taking half-day PM PTO.

Definitely! You and GWN go H2H at 165. He has Sasso at 149 You have Sloan at 197. A Carr victory at 165 and getting favorable results at 149 (Yianni) & 197 (Sloan) will make you a winner by 0.5 points (not factoring bonus)

"control of the mat" was the bench penalty given to Coleman Scott for running onto the mat and yelling at the refs for making the stall calls.
