1. I believe I read that Mean Gene was around 145 for his 118 final. Can’t remember… did they have night-before weigh-ins back then? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
2. I’ve updated the draft selection page, providing a visual look at the current status (championship, consolation, eliminated) for each of the picks. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eze6IbcFHbIbVy3x6PkCYowK3kdUYBuhVvo2ZncA4ek/edit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
3. …and my response: (1) offered encouragement that it is not difficult; (2) gave directions on how to get to the website; (3) showed where to look on the page; and (4) provided evidence of what following my suggested path would provide. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
4. Not hard to find on the NCAA website. If you don’t know how to get there, a simple Google with the keywords: “2023 NCAA Wrestling Brackets” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
5. How is Glory gaming the weight management rules? Everything else stated in your OP is reason to look forward to an entertaining final on Saturday night. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

7. says the guy in LAST PLACE!
8. Let me double check my spreadsheet calculations. I did it very quickly at the end of the first session before jumping into a meeting at work. If you go to the "Raw Score Data" tab in the document, you can see the scoring by Picker. I agree with the following: VakAttack with 13 MizzouFan01 has 12 EDIT: Found the problem. When I originally build the placeholder for scores from Track, I only made the lookup range for the 165 wrestlers we selected (15*11). It is faster for me to simply download the entire field of 338 (330 in the brackets plus the remaining 8 alternates). When expanding the lookup range to cover the entire dataset, the score will be corrected.

10. That’s a real upset - he is a 184. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
11. I just lost my 125 (Poulin) in the fantasy tourney!
12. Any last minute changes due to missed weight or skin check that would result in bracket updates?
13. That’s my low-end estimate. I don’t see him going above 140. If this was a single day tourney with a similar delay between weigh-in and the bout, I could see it. But not after holding weight down for three days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
14. This is on the high end of what I think. With a Saturday morning weigh-in at 127 (125+2), he’ll be between 137-140 by the time he hits the mat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
15. @Jerry Callo has selected (15*) Kyle Biscoglia (UNI) 19-9 as his replacement pick via PM to me. *15 is Biscoglia's new bracket placement after the McGonagle shift. The field is now complete.
16. 125: Lee 133: Arujau 141: Woods 149: Sasso 157: Humphreys 165: Carr 174: Labriola 184: Brooks 197: Beard 285: Cassioppi
17. True story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/sports/1978/03/19/people-named-gable-schalles-immortals-of-the-mat/12d87d0c-f2c1-466d-aaa3-fc3b6b8e2bcd/
18. Schalles wasn't eligible for the NCAA tourneys that year, so he went up to 177 for the PSAC championships and pinned Shorty to win the title and the tourney OW.
19. It took Minnesota a while to get the memo on that one. I seem to remember them having upwards of 7-8 Administrative Assistants around the time the Schlatter brothers were graduating. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
20. I’m fine with replacements at 133 and 149. Either give them the replacement entry or grant them a new pick. I trust your judgement, VakAttack. Whatever is decided, I need the new name before the tourney begins Thursday morning. However, if your guy fails skin check or misses weight, you’re stuck with the horse you bought. 21. Prior to the current field size of 33, it was a larger tourney. Yes, the single pigtail was introduced when the current AQ and ‘at-large’ process replaced the process based on the five-year R12 average and ‘Wild Card’ system. The drop to 33 occurred around the same time the eleven scholarships were dropped to 9.9. Here is an example of a bracket with nearly 360 participants. 40 pigtails and two ‘byes’ made a field of 358. Eight pigtails at 134 and 167. http://www.wrestlingstats.com/ncaa/pdf/brackets/NCAA%201989.pdf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
22. I believe that happened at the same time the fully-funded scholarship cap went from 11 to 9.9 (10% reduction). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
