Doubtful unless they have no other option , Casale has dedication and being the life of the party problems, he has wrestled 1 D1 match and 4 total matches in 2 full years at Rutgers..there is a reason he couldn’t find another school to take him . I’d say there is a better chance he’s off the roster then replacing Slav in a year

It was insinuated for years by ok state fans that Gfeller didn’t want to give up the partying lifestyle and that’s what led to his fall off..maybe if Cael could’ve gotten him to put the bottle away for 4 years he would have different results but I don’t think he would’ve tolerated it to begin with

Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s on a pitch count, they may send him to some 2 day weigh tournaments to see if his body can hold up, they still have Surber to fall back on if he can’t hold the weight …if he’s having trouble making 197 consistently don’t be surprised to see him just disappear mid season to an unknown “injury” bc they hand out Medical years like candy nowadays

Yea definitely would’ve been a dogfight good call, still I would give him at worst a 50/50 shot against those guys also shout out to Colby community in the last 2000s and earlier 2010s

They may not have the N.I.L set up like they have in the past with the shutting down of Sunkist and all

Nj currently has one active AA that never won a state title (CJ Composto) if he wins a title in the next 2 years you can add him to the list .probably never going to win a title but Ethan Fernandez of Cornell was the 8 seed this year at ncaa and he never placed higher then 4th in NJ states and was never a title contender at all

TJ Hepburn could’ve been a D1 AA ,maybe a finalist , he was 3rd in sr nationals only losing to Jamal Parks who then put it on Molinaro in the finals ,he was always talented enough to wrestle D1 but didn’t have the grades and went Juco for a year where he took 2nd then went 3rd, 2nd ,1st at D2 nationals . His senior year he made the midlands finals and lost to then 2x ncaa champ Kyle Dake 4-0 , he won the Wyoming open multiple times and beat a lot of D1 guys over the years. Whatever level he wrestled at he was going to rise to the top .

Baumgartner is the only jersey one I can think of…Tanelli was close 2nd and 3rd in HS and 3rd in college but can’t find any others

That’s not my quote you quoted me in lol , I agree with you Ive known since he was still in college that coaching and not competing was his long term passion

What I’m saying is he was a bit burned out and I’m sure bummed out by the end of his senior year and had more coaching aspirations then world level wrestling ones

Na just done with the grind of competing ,he even mentioned his senior yr of college he might not wrestle freestyle at all and just jump into coaching as that’s his long term goal , I think it was more others pushing him to keep competing for a few years and he gave it a cycle and now it’s time to move on to admin stuff

The reason he opted for Mexico is because he didn’t want to waste years trying to make a team , he wanted to give his Olympic dream a shot then go into fighting he has been training with Dominick Cruz for years now

St Paris has a few in coaching Steibler at Ohio state , Brascetta at Maryland , Heil was coaching until this most recent Olympic run I think he ll be back in a D1 room sooner then later , NATO was on the duke staff until 2 years ago I know he has his own academy but good chance he jumps back In at some point

head coach at rising ACC school, then top assistant at ok state , then starting over as head coach at an underwhelming ivy-less EIWA school all in a 3 yr span when you’ve had nothing but success in that time frame , that has to be tough , I’d be feeling real bitter if I was Coleman Scott right now

I doubt he wants to come home to be an assistant and Penn state , Pitt , lock haven and Lehigh are pretty set with coaches so what is he going to coach Franklin and Marshall? Bloomsburg?

Word on the Oklahoma state forum and around the wrestling world is that he was verbally promised bc they couldn’t legally promise him and he was all set to take over but DT called ok state when smith retired and that changed the entire plan

Weirdness ? Coleman Scott is probably burning every piece of Oklahoma state clothing that he owns right now . He sold his house left a pretty good head coaching position and moved his family across the country with promises he was the next head coach , now one way or the other he’s out of a job , how many years will he have to wait til another job even on the UNC level presents itself?

Had no idea Brooks Black was fighting , I thought he would be a world beater in college ,I guess injuries really slowed him down though but i definitely will keep a look out for him on the fighting scene

Strickenberger might be moving up to 133 he’s pretty tall and that cut was really difficult towards the end of the season and maddox has had a losing record all 5 years he’s been in school and has no notable wins and not really any good loses either so no guarantee he sees the line up either way
