  1. All jokes aside Amos at heavy would be perfect for West Virginia right now
  2. Yea he has a good chance as does Brock Zurawski from rider 1x NJ 7th place finisher and was MAC champ and knocked off wyatt Volker at ncaas as a freshman last season
  3. I’m excited to see if Knox makes another jump now that he’ll have elite training partners around everyday , no one in that st .john vianney room was on the same planet as Knox talent wise , now he ll get to roll with ncaa and world champs everyday
  4. Idk if anyone is a lock nowadays with all the talent but I personally feel confident at least 3 will be ncaa champ and all 4 will be 4x AA
  5. Yea I can’t believe Clark was never even a starter in college that’s a mystery to me , I think Joey O finally started looking like his old self last year and should be in the r12 at minimum this year again . Also don’t forget Oliveri had his redshirt pulled mid season 2 different times because of Alvarez and his weight issues, I think if they stuck with the original plan for him he’d be an AA already …99 percent sure Clark and Olivieri are first cousins
  6. 3xers is all over the place and mixed results but Knox is a 4xer and the last two 4xers from NJ both went on to be ncaa champ ( Ashnault and Suriano )
  7. Y’all are sleeping on Anthony Knox he’s beaten Bassett and might end up with a better folk career then anyone listed
  8. I agree and him being a public school kid makes it even better , as far as his sr year goes I think he’d had a solid chance but you had 3x champ oliveri at 132 and 3x champ Clark at 138 , Composto always found himself in the toughest bracket in AC
  9. I can’t believe Ragusin, Ungar and cannon all have eligibility left , along with aj Ferrari they have to be approaching van wilder territory
  10. Yea he wrestled the last 2 duals at heavyweight after Wolfgram blew out his knee , he did beat 2x NQ Sam Mitchell so he can compete at heavyweight but he was a top 15/20ish overall recruit and bumping up the highest rated recruit you may ever get isn’t the best long term strategy when 197 seems like his ideal weight for now , but who knows he was only 18 last year he could’ve had a growth spurt we don’t know about
  11. CJ Composto was a 2x placer in hs 3rd and 5th and is already a 2x AA with a chance to be a 3xer and just won u23 pan ams
  12. I think they’ll most likely bite the bullet at heavyweight and Robin will end up odd man out. Bush has shown alot of development and beat some really good guys last year up at weight I think he is a legit AA threat at 184
  13. Yea I agree , he definitely has the frame to build up into at true 133, I hope he’s really locked in for his last season and finally gets it done
  14. For a couple duals yes I can imagine that scenario but not for the season, Runes development will be a big deal this season so risking bumping him up to heavyweight a bunch of times while trying to build his confidence at 197 is a tricky thing to balance…Who knows maybe Rune gains 40 pounds by October and fills the hole at 285 naturally I read a post awhile back on the West Virginia forum that mentioned it’s not 100 percent Robin will be back next season
  15. I agree with you but from everything I’ve heard the plan is Gill 125 and Jett 133. It may be just too unhealthy for Jett to make that cut again for even half a season
  16. Here is my guess for the fighting Tim Flynn’s of West Virginia 125- RS Freshman Louie Gill (14-3 last year as a RS at nc state) 133- Sr. Jett Strickenberger (2023 NJCAA national champ ,Big 12 champ, 2x NQ, R12 last year) lost in OT in ncaa quarterfinals and blood round, struggled at 133 last season 141- Sr. Jordan Titus (3x NQ , 11-18 last year) 149- Sr. Willie McDougald ( 3x NQ, R16 in 2022, 21-8 last for Oklahoma) 157- RS Soph. Ty Watters ( NCAA 4th in 2024 , 6-0 last year with 2 wins over AAs before injury , should be considered a legit contender at 157 this year) 165- Either RS Sr - Caleb Dowling (9-7 at 157 last year) or RS Freshman Shawn Taylor (13-5 in redshirt last year ) 174- RS Jr. Brody Conley ( 13-8 last year , injuried late in the season and med FF out of big 12s, NQ in 2024) 184- RS Jr.- Ian Bush (NQ 21-13 up at 197 , beat 3 AAs total last season ) 197- RS Fr. Rune Lawerence ( 18-7 as a redshirt last year) biggest recruit in the Flynn era and has a lot of expectations around him 285- a black hole that will be filled with either RS Soph Wilson Spiries (4-10 last year, 9 of those loses by bonus) or True Freshman Brock Kehler…this weight will be a problem all year again , I know they went hard after Catka and a few other guys but West Virginia as a university has banned all big donors from donating to all sports other then football and men basketball so not much NIL money in Morgantown to bring in transfers
  17. Ayers is from NJ actually , spent a year at Blair (idk if he started) then spent next 3 years at tiny newton high school and won 69 matches won a district title and finished runner up at regions to Pat Coyle who went on to finish 2nd in the state that year ( fun fact Delbarton head coach Bryan Stoll was 3rd at this weight) Stoll beat Ayers at super regions
  18. Yea he took 3rd his senior yr losing in the semis to the legendary Paul Finn who is the only guy in NJ history to go undefeated with all pins for an entire season .. that weight class was pretty wild , Baumgartner beat future pro wrestler bam bam Bigelow in that tournament , also jim Jeffcoat who played 15 years for the Dallas cowboys and won 2 superbowls lost on the otherside to Finn
  19. We’ll find out next year when Brooks moves up
  20. I have no idea but I’m sure people said they same exact thing when Synder took out Varner for the spot ,PJ Duke was in high school literally last week , he ll have the next few months to train with team USA and the NLWC and there isnt really any tape on him for people to gameplan against and I’m sure he ll wake up tomorrow more confident then he’s ever been, the sky is the limit for him right now yianni clearly out wrestled him in match 1 but duke scored 15 straight on him in match 2 and match 3 they wrestled close until Duke pinned him off a single ,something u see in JV match so I think they were equal today if anything not hating on yianni it just seems disrespectful to the guys that beat him that it always get written off like yianni just had an off day or something and not the other just going and taking it
  21. For the last 7 years every time yianni loses it’s the same story , oh he was the better wrestler , oh he would ve medaled but the other guy won’t , he’s made 2 teams in 7 years and medaled once ..every time he loses people just make the same excuses
  22. So your response is to send me a thread that starts off by accusing Penn state of running a secret steroid ring and then just trashes Mormons lol and I’m supposed to believe you want to have a good hearted discussion
  23. Other then Kerk who was injured wrestling against gable I don’t think any schedule tweak would’ve stopped brooks (whose been out of college for 2 years now) from getting double pneumonia or Nagao getting hurt wrestling freestyle in the offseason and as far as “losing in classless fashion “ nonsense I didnt hold it against Brett metcalf when he pushed Darrion Caldwell mid back flip and I’m not gonna hold running off the mat as quick as possible after losing in the world team finals against Barr either bc I have no idea what the emotions of losing an ncaa final or a spot on the world team are like and neither do you
  24. lol you seem to be channeling your inner Jimmy ,Kerk blew out his knee at big 10s , Brooks had double pneumonia, van ness doesn’t wrestle much freestyle and Nagao is coming back from a major injury and BB biggest L was getting hitched
  25. Why are they gonna help him blow out his other knee or help him continue the trend of losing to Penn state guys?
