    He lost one opportunity when he got injured at BTS to a guy not even in his stratosphere. Lost a second opportunity to Covid? My memory is shot on this chit, but that sounds plausible. I think since he started winning he probably would have won those two years as well, but just my take on it.

    This is the biggest "IF" in this discussion. If Howard is healthy I like him to get the starting position vs McHenry or anyone else at PSU. Howard was improving his freshman year and he's a tough wrestler when healthy.

    It would help your argument if you would at least get the wrestler's name right. Ryan Howard was a baseball player. Robert Howard is the wrestler that you think has done nothing to convince anyone he could start at Penn State even though he has started for them in the past.

    Without Dean and Kerk they probably get a few more from Beard and Nevills, not sure how much though. Imagine Iowa having to replace DeSanto, Lugo, The Riddler, Real Woods ...etc. Then no Ferrari bros. That portal is a lifeline for sure.

    How would the NCAA Championships have worked out had all the schools NOT been able to utilize the portal or the transfer system? Only counting points from those recruited out of h.s.?

    I don't like the portal or NIL, but the lawmakers and the NCAA made them happen. They set this system up this way. Don't blame the coaches. Don't blame the wrestlers. They are not the ones who set it up this way.
