I said it was funny that people get worked up that I call it by the sponsor's name, not that it was my intent to get them worked up. They do a fine job of that all on their own when they see fit to disagree. My take is that Sanderson understands or at least believes that there is a group of folks who would really like to change the way this sport settles national championships. My take is that he believes these types of events just promote those ideas and he doesn't want to participate in that promotion. The N in NCAA stands for National. Anyone else can put that word in their event, but it isn't really the same thing, hence my reference to the commercial sponsor of the event.

I think you actually have it right in the second paragraph. I saw a video clip somewhere of Cael saying something to the effect of this being a re hash of long held arguments that he doesn't think make sense. Not those exact words of course, but that sort of meaning. I don't think they will have any issue filling comp dates.

I don't normally disagree much with your posts, but I have to here. Hendrickson beat Steveson straight up and exposed any small weaknesses in his game in the process, whether physical or mental, plus he has no other losses. He earned a spot ahead of Gable for those reasons.

100% certain that Taylor will bring Okie State back up. How far is anyone's guess, especially with how special Penn State has been under the legend Cael Sanderson. However, just nitpick, almost half their points came from two portal guys. I give him a little cred also for Plott getting 15 points (he scored more last year though) and Spratley getting 17.5 points for 2nd place. Their other 6 weights added up to 21.5 points.
