    That is correct. Every line up posted in this thread for Iowa has 9 wrestlers from the Dan Gable era and 1 wrestler from the Tom Brands era which is a basic continuation of the Dan Gable era just without the same results. And why do they not have the same results? Because Sanderson's wrestlers have changed the sport. Wrestling has evolved.

    The sport has evolved under Sanderson. His guys would beat the old Iowa style. They already have beaten that style time and time again. This hypo does not make the Iowa style better.

    There are literally many thousands of runners who have run faster marathons than Peters. They are therefore faster. If the question is who would win a race are you going to pick the 2 hr 18 minute runner or the 2 hr 12 minute or 2 hr 3 minute runner? The thread asked who would win, not who had better accomplishments in their time.

    Ever hear of Jim Peters? He broke the marathon world record 4 times over a three span in the 1950's. He always found a way to win as well. The current WR is more than 17 minutes faster. Times change. Athletes evolve.

    Today's wrestlers utilizing Cael's techniques have displaced Iowa style. Imo, PSU would win most of the weights regardless of the names of the wrestlers.

    Also Penn State centric and agree whole heartedly that Mason Parris deserves this Hodge Trophy. He won it on pretty much every criteria.

    If we are going to lower the PSU scoring total, then we have to take away Iowa's portal points too. How many did Real Woods score? How many in year's past from The Riddler and DeSanto? How many will the Ferrari's score in the future? Seems to me that the portal is now Iowa's go to for repairing recruiting problems. Since they can't seem to build champions they can just portal them over.

    It is not even 25.5 points. No Max Dean means Michael Beard stays. No Kerkvliet means there is another Hwt, either Nevills or someone else.

    I thought Shapiro was going to be a 157 but he wrestled 149 this year. Is he projected 149 or 157 going forward? Him and Haines would be a nice one.

    No doubt. PSU fans were ecstatic with 4 Champs that night and it certainly bothered some PSU haters who made a big issue of it. Nice to see PSU fans accepting of the idea that Cornell had such a great night.

    Spencer wasn't the first ever unbeaten PA 4x State Champ. Kolat and Marstellar were 4x PIAA State Champs. Lee was neither unbeaten or a 4 time State Champ in high school. You'd think Sonnen would not have made that claim after describing Lee losing his final h.s. match.

    You can kind of tell that Bartlett has both given the sport a lot of thought and in a way he has let the chains fall from his mind. Now he is free to just enjoy it. Best place to be as a competitor.

    I expect a miraculous recovery for next month's US Open, that being chalked up to Lee being super human.

    Bartlett actually said that? If that happens then the line up is probably 125 Howard, 133 Bartlett, and like you say, Kasak 141 and Van Ness 149.

    Lots of people think Brooks to 197 and incoming freshman Barr to 184. Braeden Davis and Howard handle 25 and 33. However it works out they will again be formidable.

    I thought it would end up being Mason Parris, but I don't fault in any way that the OW went to Vito. Well deserved after that performance.

    A certain level of truth to this statement. PSU won the tournament but Cornell probably won the night. Nice recruiting commercial for them.

    One thing about being an Ivy wrestler is the comparitively weak schedule. The Big10 especially is a grind from start to finish.
