  1. It was stated in the tOSU vs Rutgers dual, and I heard it again last night on the broadcast. There isn't any new information. The last thing that came out from Lehigh is still that they hope to get him back this season.
  2. I actually did a double take there because I couldn't believe it. 1st - Minnesota - 138.5 2nd - Iowa - 125.5 3rd - Oklahoma State - 115.5 4th - Oklahoma 93.5

  4. If the article is interesting, I read it. I read one yesterday on Flo about Tom Ryan's comments after the Rutgers dual.
  5. Some stiff competition.
  6. There are times where I feel similarly, but overall I stand by this logic.. You were either forced into the bottom position or chose to be in the bottom position when given choice. You choose bottom knowing that a reversal is worth two points and and escape is worth one. I've said it before, a takedown should be rewarded more than a reversal because you started in a neutral position. A reversal is only possible by either being taken down, or choosing bottom. If you want to score three point, choose neutral. IMO, neutral takedowns should be more heavily rewarded than changing control from a position of being controlled. That's obviously a controversial opinion. I don't think reversing my control is necessarily as difficult as gaining control from neutral. You are never on bottom unless your were forced there, or put there by being taken down. You're in a defensive position regardless, and it shouldn't be rewarded equally as to scoring in neutral where you need to be offensive.
  7. I am someone who prioritizes takedowns above all else. But in folkstyle, where getting back to neutral is earned via escaping control, vs being put back in neutral by lack of action (freestyle), there has to be a reward for the bottom wrestler. I think the old system of a 2 to 1 reward system wasn't accurate, but the current 3 to 1 system is fair. If you got rid of the escape point, you might as well just convert to freestyle and put both wrestlers back to neutral after 10 seconds. IMO, folkstyle with the three point takedown and the current nearfall system is better than it has been in my lifetime.
  8. Where do you watch the U.S. open across age divisions? Where do you watch WTT across all age divisions? Where do you watch Final X? Where do you watch CKLV, or Ironman? If anything, the success that Flo has had in streaming duals has led to other entities becoming buyers for the rights to stream duals. You tell me where you were watching B1G duals in 2007. They invest 10% of the effort they used to? How so? They provide content whether predictions, or breakdowns of duals/tournaments they don't have the right to air, as well as promoting wrestling beyond any other entertainment media. If Flo is so bad, who is covering and promoting the sport better than Flo?
  9. TBH, this is a stupid argument. Rock, you missed some action and didn't have access to rewind and see what actually happened, the WKN is faulting you for a live take that missed the replay.. The call, despite my rooting for Hardy, was correct, and you two are arguing over nothing. Rock, you didn't watch the conclusive angle where Brock clearly lost riding time, and Wkn, you're arguing against someone who is justifying their position based on not seeing the replay/conclusive evidence. Sure, in real time it might have seemed like Hardy should have won, and certainly with replay and slow-mo, it was clear that albeit close, Bartlett won. Just stop.
  10. Escape has to be worth something. You have to earn getting back to neutral in folkstyle, where in freestyle you get put back to neutral for merely defending on bottom. You have to earn an escape in folk, you are granted a restart by successfully prohibiting action in freestyle. See a recent thread for a longer breakdown of why a reversal shouldn't be worth as much as a takedown. You either were put on bottom or chose to be there. Go from neutral to control if you want three points.
  11. Hey Greenwave, you never responded last time I asked. Curious. How old is a typical RS junior in college? I don't know if you're purely a troll, or if you are just woefully unaware when you make these statements. If Bo Bassett wrestles as a true freshman, he will be the same age as a RS freshman. But go on hating on a high schooler.
  12. Well, I hit the over of 1.5 wins for Nebraska, however, my prediction of three wins coming at 125, 141, and 157.. not so hot.
  13. You know Hardy is fun because he makes a Bartlett match watchable.
  14. Drives me nuts. So dumb.
  15. nah, it was 7-13 +1 for riding time for the 7 point decision.
  16. He was studying the Illinois tape in the locker room.
  17. I thought the same. As he matures I can't imagine he can stay at 125. LL looks like he's been in the Penn State room. That was the best he's looked in neutral this season IMO. He was constantly pushing and looking for an opening, and Caleb just refused to truly engage. He should have been hit in the first for stalling.
  18. There really should be an automatic stall at the end of a scoreless first period. Ref warns whoever they deem less active.
  19. Despite the outcome, I liked how Pinto wrestled. He didn't just stand there and avoid wrestling. He gave up a takedown when he committed to a shot, and we was in pretty decent position to score in a couple of scrambles.
  20. He had a couple of nice shots, but he needs to watch some Snyder film to clean up his finishes against the big boys.
  21. Give me Smith, Hardy, and Taylor.
  22. Other than Pucino, I'm not sure an Illini has locked their hands around a leg from their own shot.. I'm not even sure how many have touched a leg at all..
  23. Obviously Arnold is thicker than Ruth, but does Ruth look noticeably larger to anyone else?
  24. Hey, we actually get to see Arnold wrestle a decent opponent this season.
  25. I heard a lot of talk on FRL about him before ever seeing what he looked like. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting red raid. Same kind of scenario when I found out Bubba Wilson was a white boy.
