  1. I don't know how many wrestlers in general will have 100 wins moving forward. We have guys with 5 years of eligibility that are missing or barely hitting 100 wins.
  2. Are you a fan of OKST?
  3. I feel like with all recent talk about how hard it is to score a clean takedown in D1 wrestling (Fish vs Chittum), this is a position that I am pretty adamant about. The defensive wrestler is essentially in a position where he has no chance to score, but might be able to keep his hands locked to "prevent control." Show me a time where the defensive wrestler has scored from this position, and I may change my mind. But otherwise, I think this should be a takedown for the wrestler that is covering the hips. It feels like the J.O. vs Steiber match to me, where it seemed clear that Oliver should have had the takedown, but with the rules at the time it wasn't control because the head was in between the legs. I think the reverse lock around the leg should not prevent a takedown from being scored. Agree, disagree, roast my opinion?
  4. You want to use a year of Brock's eligibility to finish well outside of the top 10 at NCAAs this year? Recruits are coming, patience is needed.
  5. Let's see that data that supports this.
  6. Ah that makes sense. I was curious why it was different at conferences than during the regular season, but that does make sense.
  7. Let's just use Cory Land at CKLV as an example. He lost to Knox via injury, so he isn't further penalized for his MFF loss to Witcraft. Whether you are injured or choose to MFF you will only accrue one loss. But I believe you are correct about the seeding criteria. This made me curious about Starocci last year. He stepped on the mat to injury default twice at B10s which is why he took two losses on his record. I'm curious why he needed to step on the mat the second time rather than MFF. Obviously there must be a reason?
  8. I was entertained with the previous entries, but you really got me with this one. Well played.
  9. You're just in a rush. Barr may very well be a legitimate contender, but until he beats another contender, it's fair to call him a "maybe contender." Lilledahl was being credited as a contender and just lost to Dean who is a mid-ranked 125. We don't yet know where Barr is in comparison to Buchanon, Cardenas, or Ferrari. He could beat them, or he could be a step behind. We just don't know yet. But if you want to blanket everyone that wrestles for PSU as invincible then go ahead. McIntosh was pretty good, but how many titles did he win?
  10. This poll is just to see whether or not people enjoy action on the edge of the mat. This isn't intended to create the college OB rules debate, but just to see what the majority think. I'd be curious why people enjoy or dislike edge wrestling in college.
  11. Agreed. But how good has Jacob Frost been? It seems like he's only gaining confidence as the season goes on.
  12. Maybe could have gotten stalling, but I didn't think that was a takedown. Without reaction time, it would have been. But I thought the call was right, and I was rooting for Fish.
  13. @flyingcement finals has some takers.
  14. Great opportunity to influence some people right now against Paniro.
  15. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/11514767-2023-nwca-all-star-classic-wrestling-results @flyingcement
  16. I think he is a legitimate contender to be an AA this year. He could also easily go 2-2. I think there is overreaction to some narrow losses that also involved questionable refereeing (McDougald and Realbuto).
  17. Thanks for the updates. You weren't joking about it being evenly matched.
  18. 125 Lilledahl dec Cruz, 3-0 PSU 133 Ayala dec Davis, 3-3 141 Bartlett maj Block, 7-3 PSU 149 Van Ness dec Parco, 10-3 PSU 157 Teemer dec Kasak, 10-6 PSU 165 Mesenbrink tech Caliendo, 15-6 PSU 174 Haines dec Kennedy, 18-6 PSU 184 Starocci dec Arnold, 21-6 PSU 197 Buchanan dec Barr, 21-9 PSU HWT Kerkvliet dec Kueter, 24-9 PSU I'm assuming Mesenbrink is going to be a man possessed trying to keep that tech streak going.
  19. If your current school is giving you $10,000 in NIL and you dip a toe into the portal to see what other offers you can get, and collective representative from another school says he'll pay you $50,0000 if you transfer to their school, doesn't that seem relevant? Some collectives (aka schools) can afford to pay more than others. I don't know what your missing here, but go on.
  20. Jacori said in his post-match interview that yesterday was the first time that he's gone live since his injury. So I'd assume he was missing workouts.. because he was injured.
  21. I don't know if his comment was aimed towards you, but the thread topic in general? Arnold's statement isn't in the same ballpark as some of the things Starocci has said. Arnold's was a little soft if anything.
  22. I'd argue that is what's exciting about a dual vs a tournament. In a tournament, you can knock of the number one seed in the first round and lose your next two and finish with 1 point for your team. The upset didn't end up meaningfully helping your team. In a dual, a big upset can literally flip who is the favorite to win. Excitement.
