  1. Thanks for the updates. You weren't joking about it being evenly matched.
  2. 125 Lilledahl dec Cruz, 3-0 PSU 133 Ayala dec Davis, 3-3 141 Bartlett maj Block, 7-3 PSU 149 Van Ness dec Parco, 10-3 PSU 157 Teemer dec Kasak, 10-6 PSU 165 Mesenbrink tech Caliendo, 15-6 PSU 174 Haines dec Kennedy, 18-6 PSU 184 Starocci dec Arnold, 21-6 PSU 197 Buchanan dec Barr, 21-9 PSU HWT Kerkvliet dec Kueter, 24-9 PSU I'm assuming Mesenbrink is going to be a man possessed trying to keep that tech streak going.
  3. If your current school is giving you $10,000 in NIL and you dip a toe into the portal to see what other offers you can get, and collective representative from another school says he'll pay you $50,0000 if you transfer to their school, doesn't that seem relevant? Some collectives (aka schools) can afford to pay more than others. I don't know what your missing here, but go on.
  4. Jacori said in his post-match interview that yesterday was the first time that he's gone live since his injury. So I'd assume he was missing workouts.. because he was injured.
  5. I don't know if his comment was aimed towards you, but the thread topic in general? Arnold's statement isn't in the same ballpark as some of the things Starocci has said. Arnold's was a little soft if anything.
  6. I'd argue that is what's exciting about a dual vs a tournament. In a tournament, you can knock of the number one seed in the first round and lose your next two and finish with 1 point for your team. The upset didn't end up meaningfully helping your team. In a dual, a big upset can literally flip who is the favorite to win. Excitement.
  7. Yes, but predicting anyone to AA at 125 is risky, let alone someone that has losses to backups and NAIA competition this year. Don't get me wrong, he looks to be improving, but let's not overreact.
  8. He had a fall in 31 seconds yesterday.
  9. NCAA protections NCAA rules prohibit schools from reducing, canceling, or failing to renew an athlete's scholarship due to injury, illness, or athletic performance.
  10. Stop with this. You know exactly what everyone means. No the school is not paying the athlete directly, but their collective is. Would never answered last time I asked for how you would prefer it be phrased. Would you be okay if I asked, "How much money is Iowa's collective spending on 3 rentals?" Drop this ridiculous argument. Everyone knows that the "collective" is just a middle man so that the coaches aren't technically breaking the rules. Each schools NIL recruiting power is a direct reflection of how much money the programs supporters are donating. Bigger donors/more money to spend on athletes. You think Iowa brought in 3 top tier transfers without Brands agreeing on spending that amount of money?
  11. Doesn't seem very in line with the message of Jesus Christ.
  12. Using the portal is an unsustainable way to build a successful program. How much money is Iowa spending on 3 rentals to (at best) finish in second place this year? Wouldn't it be better to spend that money on recruits that you will have for their entire eligibility?
  13. How does an injury prevent the athlete from finishing their education?
  14. What OSU are we talking about?
  15. Man, I don't care if you're an Iowa fan or not.. that is absolutely embarrassing behavior. Certainly not persuading me to give you more calls if I'm the referee.
  16. Did Brands just yell "that's a nice start Ass-Wipe" at the referee after a caution on Buchanon? I hope not.
  17. Because he's been the only one close to a score?
  18. You're arguing that the top wrestler should just be able to pull the ankle for more than 5 seconds? How is that advancing the position? You don't need more than 5 seconds if you're trying to use it for a breakdown.
  19. He grabbed the far ankle (out of camera view) for the count.
  20. Or mature earlier/max out their ability relevant to athleticism in high school. Once guys get into college rooms and continue to mature and develop, they can catch and surpass guys that may have been winning in high school.
  21. Teemer had a bonus rate of 27.59% last year. He's never been a huge point scorer, he just wins.
  22. So we rank wrestles by how exciting they are rather than who wins? Edit: I thought you meant inactivity during his matches as he can wrestle some pretty boring bouts. My apologies.
  23. He has one top 20 win and 0 top 10 wins. Let's temper expectations.
  24. Would have loved to see Davino and Ayala.
  25. We're losing excellent a little loosely. He's now 7-5 against D1 competition. He has 2 losses to backups and a loss to an NAIA wrestler. But he is showing improvement.
