I agree with real woods being most surprising. He seems to have jumped levels quickly considering he was in a couple nailbiters just to make the team at wtt. Levi is pretty surprising as well. I think we have several guys better than him at the weight and if he didn't perform well it would have been a bitter pill to swallow. Not surprised at all with Jax and Zahid after watching they way they handled Vito and Dake. Helen and Snyder have been doing this for a minute, it's just what they do. We all knew Trent was capable, glad he was able to put it all together and get it done.

Helen looked super impressive at Worlds with no signs of slowing down. I think she has 5 gold's now while Burroughs I believe has 7. Does Helen end up getting more gold's than Burroughs and become the GOAT?

Still having Gilman and real woods in the room would definitely be nice. The brands dropped the ball there. However they did coach him to an Olympic silver. Spencer has good enough training partners and everything he needs to win at HWC, he just needs to put it all together.

Everyone knew Suriano was training in Michigan and going 125 before second semester started.

Actually Spencer started wrestling some matches that season and shortly after Suriano showed up at the weight Spencer decided to not finish the season. I believe Spencer knew he needed to be 100 percent to beat suriano and wasn't close to 100 percent that season.

Are there going to be teams? Team scoring and Team duals? That's a big part of what makes college wrestling so entertaining

Caliendo will take a match from Messinbrink this year. He closed the gap. Carr showed the blueprint on how to beat Messinbrink. Caliendo is athletic enough to copy it

No not trying to troll just don't know what happened there. Northwestern was putting out competitive teams with studs like Tsirtis, Deakin, and Rivera. I believe northwestern had a roster limit and high admission standards too, so the coaching staff was doing very well with what they had. Something happened there. I guess it is irrelevant now.

Did it ever come out why the coaches at northwestern got fired? Northwestern was producing a lot of studs and seemed to have fallen off a cliff since the coaching change.

I hope you are right, but I heard Knox gets ragdolled by vito in the room and Jax just beat Vito. Duke also just stuck yianni. Yianni is a 4x national champ and one of the greatest college wrestlers ever. He was never pinned in four years of college. These kids are unreal.

Cael did lose to Paul Jenn I think, during his redshirt year. So would a wrestler completing their college career undefeated, with or without a redshirt, break caels record?

Bassett was going to also likely bring his brothers which would have kept Iowa relevant. It pains me to say but I believe this is the last year Iowa competes for a trophy in the foreseeable future.

Desanto was pretty legit, had wins over Byrd, lovett, gross, rby, suriano, micic(world champ) That's a lot of champs desanto has beat. I realize he makes a lot of idiotic comments but not sure this one is that idiotic. Plus the Lee Desanto bonus rate has to put them pretty high on the 1,2 punch list

Gabe was a freshman last year up a weight. I think he has potential to be an all American threat at his ideal weight. With 3 years of eligibility left that's a tough loss.

This upcoming season the outlook and results will be fine, but what about after that? Drake and Caliendo will be done. I believe Kennedy too. Whose knows if kueter will finish his career. Angelo can't win a team title by himself.

Ben Askren is the next game changer head coach. Praying he has a speedy full recovery. He should be the obvious first choice to replace TnT if Iowa decides to move on. I think TnT do a good job coaching what they got. They just can't recruit to save their lives. Let's be honest, the only reason they landed Angelo is because other schools didn't pursue him due to his last name. I suspect they only got spencer because Penn State already had suriano at the time. Drake just happened to grow up in iowas backyard. What other elite recruits have they actually recruited? It's just so frustrating that a major program like Iowa is so horrible at recruiting. You would think elite high schoolers would be lining up to go to Iowa.
