  1. That’s 8 for OU by my count. Only natives being McDougald and Picklo. But what does wrestlestat know about the heavyweight lineup battle. They have Mora listed as the starter but only rated #45, and Heindselman (who would be another non-transfer) as the backup at #12, despite finishing R12 last year whereas Mora was 4-4 including a loss to Heindselman.
  2. What makes you say “sounds like it wasn’t”? I’ll give you it’s not totally clear, but by saying “you don’t know the story,” it sure seems to me like he’s referencing the same “Happy Valley coach” that Koll is referencing.
  3. Brands, Buchanan and Teemer are all listed as grad students
  4. Iowa might be one of Illinois’s top challengers here: 125: Peterson - RS FR 133: Ayala - 4th year JR 141: Block - RS FR (if Schriever - 5th year SR) 149: Parco - 6th year SR 157: Teemer - 7th year SR 165: Caliendo - 4th year JR 174: Arnold - RS FR 184: Brands - 7th year SR 197: Buchanan - 6th year SR 285: Kueter - RS FR
  5. "I do not have "special knowledge" but if the scholly guys return and keep the money without being on the team it is no longer an athletic scholarship" They offer this as cover, IMO. I cannot speak from authority. Speculation only. What a sh1tty position to put these guys in. Make them choose between having their education paid for or being able to wrestle.
  6. Byrd for sure has 1 more if he wants it so he’ll be a 7th year guy next year (regular redshirt 2020, free year 2021, ORS 2024). I think in @ILLINIWrestlingBlog’s post there was question about Ruth. I’m assuming he doesn’t have any years after this one based on the eligibility clock, but this will technically only be his 3rd year of attached competition and you never know these days. Scoles at 165 did have a win over NQ Sonny Santiago, so could certainly see him staying in the lineup in the future.
  7. He went on a Mormon mission or something so was like 27 or 28 I think when he graduated?
  8. I thought the official Campbell wrestling page had posted to donate to the school, but unless I am misremembering, that post appears to be gone. The guy that made this original post is now suggesting to donate to the RTC instead (Buies Creek Wresdling Club). I can only find a Facebook page for them: https://m.facebook.com/Buiescreekwc/ But the Facebook page did have a donation link: https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4490287?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2TZ0NdK5hcMJVAhVK1sAR82yblqZjmzmndqA8MdyO5ghw06vG80qLlECQ_aem_RjVDW37xfg7rk2Sc6Fwqkw
  9. Is it Illinois? Projected starters according to wrestlestat: 125: Attasauov - 6th year SR (wrestlestat shows 2024 as not existing for him) 133: Byrd - 6th year JR 141: Pucino - 5th year SR 149: Webster - redshirt FR 157: Kraisser - 6th year SR 165: Scoles - redshirt FR 174: Braunagel - 7th year SR 184: Ruth - 6th year SR 197: Braunagel - 7th year SR 285: Luffman - 6th year SR
  10. They never count athlete-paid tuition as revenue. I know @Jason Bryant has done a good job articulating why they should at some of these smaller enrollment driven schools that don’t have particularly high academic standards. I guess the argument is that they still could have let someone in other than the athlete. is it true they’re not letting scholarship athletes compete? That doesn’t seem legal, but I am not a lawyer.
  11. What do you mean? He wasn’t allowed?
  12. The second Manville isn’t Mason is it? Surely he can’t have any eligibility left
  13. Where? Is it even going to be in theaters when it comes out I thought it was an Amazon Prime thing?
  14. Did they have the second most prominent wrestler in the film as a D1 wrestler? And as I mentioned, they said they did use Robles himself for some of the shots
  15. Good interview with Bader and Johnni DiJulius. They do some shots with Robles as the wrestler. They also have actual wrestlers as extras wrestling in the background or other matches - he mentions Kyler Larkin, Brandon Courtney, Evan Wick and Shakur Rasheed. Angel Rivera apparently plays the ref and I believe he said Jesse Jantzen plays one of the Iowa coaches.
  16. Hopefully they (the school, not AJ) makes a “double birds” tshirt that they can sell. That could be a hit for wrestling shirt a day in May
  17. I can. He was able to confiscate the “America” handle because he owns the company. He also has spoken on behalf of the company by agreeing with a post saying that Harris is going to ban X.
  18. No, it is not true. Here is the spokesperson for FEMA:
  19. The comment I’ve seen many making is “Elon should be allowed to have his own personal opinions without it impacting x/twitter!!” But now he is using his influence as the owner of x/twitter to push his personal opinions.
  20. I don’t really think anyone else will take him even if he has success, because there will still be the risk of him imploding later. Seems like he should help Bakersfield sell some tickets as long as he lasts though.
  21. Welp, so much for that whole “politically neutral” thing https://www.disruptionist.com/p/elon-musk-takes-america-x-handle
  22. I was assuming cameraguy was on the team too
  23. I mean isn’t it possible he participated in the actual practice and didn’t film it, then wrestled some more with the coach?
  24. Didn’t notice that. I liked how he was acting like he was studious by doing study hall hours, but it seemed like it was required (although he wasn’t even sure how many were required), and he had to do them all in one day. He lived in a pretty nice house for a college student though.
