  1. IMO, as I mentioned earlier the only place that “race plays a role” is with women, which 3 of your 4 earlier links were primarily about. And that’s more due to sexism than racism.
  2. You keep repeating this “people of color only received 16% of the total NIL compensation” line. There’s just no way that’s true. It says it’s from Opendorse, which is a website for athletes to try to find NIL deals. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m going to assume their data is only based on transactions that occur on their site. The problem with that is that the top athletes don’t need to use Opendorse, so they’re going to be missing the biggest deals from their data. Speaking of, I’m not aware of better “studies,” but the easiest thing to do would be to look at the top deals. Maybe this isn’t exact but it’s much better than 3-4 year old data that only comes from transactions on one website: https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/nil-valuations/ 1. white football player - $6.8m 2. White football player - $4.3m 3. black football player - $4.2m 4. black basketball player - $4.1m 5. White football player - $3.8m 6. black football player - $3.7m 7. black football player - $3.7m 8. white football player - $3.4m 9. white football player - $3.1m 10. White football player - $3.1m 11. Black football player - $3.0m 12. Black basketball player - $2.8m 13. Black football player - $2.8m 14. White football player - $2.7m 15. black football player - $2.7m 16. White football player - $2.4m 17. Black football player - $2.4m 18. black football player - $2.3m 19. Hawaiian football player - $2.3m 20. black basketball player - $2.3m So, of the top 20 valued players, 11 are black and if my math is correct, they account for 52% of the total dollars. Probably worth noting that every white person on this list is a quarterback. Edit: after further review, updated #19 to Hawaiian
  3. This is not true. https://www.si.com/college-basketball/highest-paid-college-athletes-via-nil-deals https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-basketball/news/caitlin-clark-nil-deals-money-iowa-nike-sponsors-2024/e58534cadc3b2960663a36cb
  4. I’m not an Iowa fan, but his post most certainly was a shot. And he is no longer a high school junior.
  5. This may be another reason for the masks. Apparently some of them aren’t actually employees, they’re contractors
  6. Did you like a post that made fun of him?
  7. Well one of them just got arrested, so I think that one is pretty self-explanatory. Not sure about Arnold, I have seen him be accused of partying as well, but no clue if there’s truth to that. Bob may be racist, but I don’t think that post was. Now ScrapLife’s Don Beshada’s post from 2020 on the other hand… (but he did apologize at least)
  8. Hopefully that’s actually true (there has been nothing since the last post I shared from Amy). Minnow pretending to be close with the Askren family is kinda gross though
  9. The last three links are specific to women. I’d agree that I’m sure there is probably a racial disparity in women’s sports, but I think that’s more due to the fact that unfortunately it seems a lot of women athletes’ NIL value is derived just as much from their sex appeal as their athletic ability. And white women appeal to a larger audience because there’s more white people… The first link is just some google survey, and looks like it’s only about “expectations.” Also it says the three sports represented the most are track, soccer, and lacrosse. Or is your comment referring to sports other than football & basketball? I guess that’s possible, but I’d bet football & men’s basketball account for like 90% of total NIL dollars spent or something.
  10. Can you share some of this evidence? I’m skeptical of that claim. And are you talking about within wrestling or in general?
  11. hope this isn’t real, seems like it is
  12. What are the grounds for the lawsuit? Was he under 18 at the time or something? Seems like it would be pretty cut and dry if you sign the contact, no?
  13. Chael offered him $1 million for his “NIL rights” (not sure what that’s even supposed to mean, TBH), and the Bassett’s didn’t even respond? I think that gives credibility to the $5 million number…
  14. Who even would be responsible for enforcing the 250 mile thing? USA Wrestling, not the NCAA, right?
  15. Back on topic. Shooter’s mom confirmed to be member of the church, shooter attended services there. I will give credit to the church for not badmouthing him and for asking to pray for the family. Of course also a great job by the security team and members who stopped the attack. But @El Luchador, sounds like the people you need to “watch out” for most at church (albeit still much less than other facets of life), might be the ones sitting next to you. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/wayne-county/2025/06/23/police-id-suspected-gunman-fatally-shot-at-wayne-church/84315724007/p https://nypost.com/2025/06/23/us-news/gunman-behind-michigan-church-rampage-idd-as-brian-anthony-browning/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=nypost
  16. To be fair, many PSU fans were bashing him after he signed with Iowa. I hope Jagger is working on some good Kyle Snyder jokes if God tells Bo that Penn State is the right fit for his faith journey.
  17. I don’t think it’s an elaborate scheme. Bob calls them up and pays them a lot of money. The end. Not sure if true but I read that “just getting an apartment” doesn’t fulfill the RTC 250 mile requirement. But to that point, my guess is the bigger issue was more about Brands apparently saying he can’t practice with the RTC whenever he wants, not the cost of travel to get there.
  18. Sounds like that’s what happening. But isn’t that quote also Iowa’s defense to Bob calling up guys that aren’t in the portal and paying them to enroll at Iowa? Why would Iowa’s compliance department be okay with that but not this?
  19. That theory was wrong, fyi
  20. Ignore what? He said “the trends are down but the threat hasn’t gone away”
  21. All right I’m listening to this since it’s not super long. Key points -“attacks” are down 18% vs 2023 -Catholic churches, Synagogues and Mosques were disproportionately targeted compared to how many there are, Protestant churches were not -80% are property crimes -Of the 841 “attacks”, there were 23 deaths and 78 injuries. 2/3 of the injuries occurred outside (and some of those ones outside may not have had anything to do with it being a church) Do you know how many churches are in the country? 78 injuries in a year from “attacks” probably makes them one of the safest places you can be
  22. Any in America in the last few months? And not a carjacking in a parking lot or some homeless people attacking each other at a church-run shelter. My point in bringing up the soccer thing was you need to bring up other countries to find these stories because it’s rare in the US.
  23. On the Iowa board there is talk (somewhat confirmed by @Husker_Du) that his travel was being paid for by a mid-40’s female “friend” that recently passed away.
  24. Uh, YOU brought Syria into it.
