  1. I’d have to think that conversation was had before yesterday, and I’d guess he was not planning to retire if he lost, so my assumption is that Slay just didn’t want him to do that in the heat of the moment
  2. How does one “game” the step out? I would think just getting rid of grounded all together would help.
  3. Why won’t Chance or Zahid medal? Didn’t Chance beat someone from Iran or something? And don’t a lot of the international guys have similar gas tank issues as Zahid?
  4. Agree. I will say it seemed strange seeing Hall in his corner. Can’t imagine it’s very often that you see a guy being coached by someone like 8 years younger than them
  5. They showed him sitting there untying them, but they didn’t show his feet when he walked off. Weirdly they didn’t really comment on that possibility. I don’t think he makes the team either way, but I’m thinking he goes up to 86 next year.
  6. Didn’t Flo interview him yesterday?
  7. Doesn’t an average full length match take like 8-10 minutes with replay reviews etc? Honestly doesn’t seem so bad unless you get a bunch of quick techs
  8. Even Micah Parsons doesn’t wanna pay
  9. Didn’t @jross do the same with the same result?
  10. I think guys like Gable Steveson, Kyle Snyder and Jordan Burroughs would disagree with this. If you are better on your feet and can get out from bottom, it’s hard to lose.
  11. Banning live wrestling at practices
  12. Similar to the people saying "only make the first TD 3 points," that would be way too complicated for people to understand, potentially even refs.
  13. And apparently that degree includes a class on “the history of Cornell” according to Yianni
  14. This one was a bit of an eye roll…he’s describing the same situation as can happen now…
  15. It’s already the rule in HS…
  16. I can’t tell if this conversation is sarcasm, but here’s one from 2002 https://wsucougars.com/sports/2002/3/8/207882724.aspx
  17. add this guy to the best names thread
  18. Try a different device...you may have already read your "limit"
  19. When talking about Cornell specifically, I think the main complaint is about their advantage over other Ivies. I personally don't really have an issue with Cornell, but I think this is just yet another example of exploiting the gray area around RTC rules.
  20. Depends who's defining "bigger issue," but I know some have complained that it is apparently much easier to get into Cornell as a transfer student than as a traditional high school graduate. Not sure if this differs at all from other Ivies.
  21. I was more interpreting the keycard discussion as only wrestlers had access and not all students, but not really sure.
  22. Starts around 3:05. He doesn’t clarify but is referring to the Ivy rules. I know this isn’t breaking news but I’m moreso not crazy about the aspect of the RTC system in general where it is legal for non-students to use school facilities yet somehow still claim that the RTC’s aren’t affiliated with the schools. This particular facility is for wrestling only and Yianni explains that the team members have access cards specific to the facility. I wonder if the grayshirts get access cards as well…
  23. Cenzo out according to Basch (check the comments)
  24. They practice at the same time as the college team, but using a different mat in a separate gym. Cool facilities though.
