  1. I think they win 141 and one of 125 or 133 but would be surprised if they win all 3 of those. Not much shot anywhere else.
  2. Can you share the link to the interview or post?
  3. Reminiscent of Bo Nickal helping guys up after he pins them here:
  4. So what are the chances we actually see Hamiti/O’Toole in the dual? O’Toole has already been confirmed to be out until not much before it, so wouldn’t be surprised if that gets extended. But could also see Hamiti not go either since they don’t need him to win the dual and then he’d only have to beat O’Toole once to get the 1 seed.
  5. They’ve also wrestled Lehigh and Missouri, I believe them & Little Rock are all in the top 20. I’m not sure any team will score more than 6 points on their starters.
  6. Love Sparks as an announcer. I didn’t realize he called headlocks “head throws” though… Favorite normal duo IMO is Rock Harrison and Shawn Kenney. But when I believe they put Sparks and Harrison together for NCAA’s is the All-Star duo
  7. Highly doubt that’d be the best ever, but I also doubt Davino or Bouzakis can make 125. Not too familiar with Davino but Bouzakis seems like he has a huge cut for 133 already. I’d guess one of Bouzakis or Mendez bumps to 149 next year.
  8. I see there was a thread on this on the HS forum but guessing not many people go over there. I know these guys are really from all over the country but this may have been the most high level high school dual I’ve ever seen. Probably at least 15 guys from this dual that wrestle D1 if I had to guess, maybe more. Was also cool to see Shane Sparks call a HS match
  9. Wait Titan Mercury actually has practices?
  10. In recent history, despite a not necessarily “salty” 125, PSU still got 4 titles from RBY and Nick Lee in 2021 and 2022, so I would take them over Lee-DeSanto-Woods/Eierman
  11. By my count MSU had 5 qualifiers last year. The aforementioned Lujan, Malczewski who graduated, Fish/Saldate who transferred out, and Jordan Hamdan. Hamdan had one more year of eligibility but was there for 5 years so guessing he graduated and moved on
  12. Looks like they also didn’t use Tristan Lujan at 133 who was a NQ at 125 last year, although he already has some bad losses, including 14-1 to a guy he beat last year. But he actually lost to Davis twice by decision last season
  13. Well he also claimed on that episode that his podcast was the “#1 podcast in combat sports”… On that note, I’ve tried to watch his podcast a few times and he’s pretty boring. This one even had the always entertaining Chael Sonnen on and I still couldn’t watch until the end
  14. Where did he say this?
  15. FWIW, Minnow appears to be doubling down (as opposed to deleting the tweet like would usually happen).
  16. He does live in the Lehigh Valley though so I probably would have given him better odds than usual at being accurate with this
  17. Yeah I think they’d have a pretty good shot at 3 AA’s. Ohio State could have an outside shot at 3 AA’s with Welsh and maybe 2 out of Davino, Cannon, Kilkeary, Hepner, Geog/Shumate Iowa could do decent in a tournament format if Ferrari + Brands or Kennedy place high, but that’s probably about it except for maybe a point or 2 from Rathjen OK State: potential shot at 2 AA’s out of Merrill, Doucet, Hughes, Thompson
  18. And if the rumor of Bastida getting a medical year is true, maybe Carroll goes on the move again?
  19. Jantzen was one of the other guys on the ASU team I believe I think IMDb might have the wrong Shane Sparks credited… https://m.imdb.com/name/nm1468535/?ref_=m_ttfcd_cl19
  20. Yeah but would he be favored against Hamiti?
  21. Agree, that would be my thought. Although it’s weird OP said he “finally” cracked a lineup but this is his first actual year of attached competition. Although wasn’t there talk Bastida could be out for the year? If so, any chance Carroll bumps up?
  22. Maybe a little picky, but this was probably a fair review. Good, but not great. However for me that might still put it as my second favorite wrestling movie, far behind Win/Win but ahead of Foxcatcher and Vision Quest IMO. The wrestling scenes were OK. They did do a bunch of weird zooming into their hands and stuff. Maybe it was because they used Robles for some of the wrestling scenes, but I thought the guy that played him may have been the best non-wrestler that I’ve seen in a movie. There was a Q&A after it was over and he said he trained five days a week two hours a day for seven months with Robles. I know they said some actual D1 wrestlers were used as extras, but I didn’t recognize any. I don’t really recall Charles, so I don’t know how accurately Cheadle portrayed him. My biggest complaint was the guy that played Tom Brands. I know Brands is one of a kind lol, but that guy wasn’t even close to an accurate portrayal. Yes it was similar to a lot of cliche sports movies, but at least it was mostly a true story. I am also not super familiar with the specifics so not quite sure what was changed. I honestly didn’t remember that they announced ASU as being cut. Although the movie makes it seem like that caused the team to miss a season when I don’t believe it did. They also ripped off a scene from Rudy which if I had to guess didn’t actually happen (and IIRC didn’t even really happen in Rudy). Overall definitely worth the free tickets though! My wife even said she liked it even though she says she “doesn’t like JLo.” They even gave out free popcorn and drinks, might have to check out more of these Amazon screenings…
  23. Made it to one by me, starts in 10 mins. Theater is about half full
  24. Cool story, but to be fair the guy from Bucknell (Hartman) he beat as a senior AA’d the prior year. At first I thought maybe you were referencing the infamous Todrank (Buffalo) match, but looks like that was in February
