Arnold to 174 really doesn’t make much sense to me on several levels: 1. Didn’t he claim he spent the offseason bulking up?- 2. Didn’t Ferrari say he’d do whatever coach Tom Brands wants him to do? Highly doubt he’d burn Ferrari’s redshirt and have Arnold drop to 174 where he already has 2 AA caliber guys including his nephew. Although I suppose it’s possible that comment from Ferrari was not actually true and he told Brands he wants to wrestle 3. Yes, I get guys want to try to beat the best, but does anyone outside of the Ferrari family actually think he can win 184 this year? He’s blowing whatever chance he had of becoming a 4xer if he wrestles this year

One potential upside for this topic & NIL is that the people paying the money probably want to see the guys they’re paying for more than in just the postseason. For example I believe Steveson said he’ll be at every dual or something.

1. Yes down vs historical, but this year’s Midlands/Scuffle/Salute were pretty similar to the last couple years IMO. IIRC (could be wrong) PSU did not send anyone to the Scuffle last year so the fact that they did this year was a positive IMO 2, 3, 5 & 6. If anything within the aforementioned tournaments and CKLV there’s probably been less MFF’s since they changed the rule making the first one a loss. 4. But the guy I was referencing from Illinois ( @ILLINIWrestlingBlog, do you know what Marinopolous weighed?) wasn’t even good for 197. Their 197 starter last year was 7-11.

Saw this reply Who I assume is related to Logan Ashton, who spent 3 years at Stanford and 2 at Chattanooga (but did not compete last year). Redshirted 2020, 2021 free year if last year was a medical could in theory have 2 years of eligibility assuming he wrestles this season. So would guess it’s him. If not, almost certainly someone from either Stanford or Chattanooga.

Moreso the lack of bonus points in general. It is not super common for only one bout to have bonus…
