  1. Obviously didn’t need to retaliate like that, but looks like Vito did give him a knee to the head at minimum. The headbutt may not have been intentional though.
  2. Maybe part of is continuing to encourage more blacks to wrestle?
  3. If you like freestyle wrestling, sounds like pretty soon you will also need USAW+ or whatever they decide to name it
  4. Of the 28 replies, I count 4 clearly racist replies including 1 use of the n word (but at least x/twitter censored it). Not a good look. Hopefully some of these people learn to be decent humans for Christmas but I doubt it.
  5. To play a little devil’s advocate here, there also seemed to be a bit of that basically being ISU’s peak of that season, and many of them weren’t able to wrestle up to the same level for NCAA’s
  6. Another possible downside is it will disincentivize bumping guys for dual victories. Not that that happens a lot anyway. Will also disincentivize getting lesser guys matches in likely blowouts. But overall I think I like the idea.
  7. Out of bounds rule Danger rule Three point takedowns Top man must work for a turn
  8. He just beat Nico Provo in his first match back
  9. So what you’re saying is…Stanich to the transfer portal?
  10. High school maybe. Isn’t there a decent amount of testing in college though?
  11. Starocci trying to switch to the non-heel team?
  12. Guys don’t need to take banned substances to compete for world titles. I have no idea if Taylor did, I’d guess not.
  13. I’d put Spratley and Jordan on list 1 honestly. Is the assumption that Stanich is redshirting?
  14. Bahahaha
  15. Some may say the Ramos/Noto match never happened.
  16. Speculating of course but personally I don’t think anyone from Cornell said anything to him about Shapiro. Or else I don’t think he wrestles at all yesterday.
  17. What do you make of his decision to let Shapiro finish the match against Chumbley?
  18. Interesting, I see in your later post this is in thousands? How do they determine if it fits this definition vs a legitimate injury?
  19. There was a similar conversation on twitter. A point was brought up (that from a financial perspective, I agree with) that the only “fans” that matter are big donors. Yea they’re usually fans too, but in most cases they’re paying for NCAA titles, not December dual victories. I think the answer is having a team dual championship with 8 teams or so. It only adds 3 matches, and gives more incentive to put out your best lineup to make sure you make that 8. Of course how it would be determined would be another controversy.
  20. They have fined coaches for resting players?
  21. Yeah, I can forgive sitting Ungar (since Greg D won), Vito (seems to have something lingering), and Shapiro (likely concussed, although wrestling him earlier in the day kinda defeats the purpose there). But Ramirez seems like a duck to me. I guess it’s possible he got injured in the Pitt match. In reality Grey should not bear the brunt of the criticism here. It’s just a microcosm of the current ducking culture.
  22. It does in the NBA throughout the season, as well as the NFL in the last week or two
  23. Combine this with ignoring Shapiro’s likely concussion, not a great look for the Big Red
  24. The 247 article says he had earned the starting spot at HWT in 2020, but he already lost to Penn’s other guy that year
  25. Not sure about other sports, but this was an excerpt from his Wikipedia page - “After Haselrig's run of NCAA titles, the Division I Wrestling Committee voted to rescind the bids to the Division II and III champions”
