  1. Plus Parco's first transfer was because his program was cut, definitely gets the benefit of the doubt for that.
  2. He relied so heavily on the art of surprise with two moves that aren't common (inside trip and trap-arm that comes from a top setup), once people figured those out they've essentially been nullified. Scouting is so much bigger than people give credit for... Just like in college, his lack of a "go to" leg attack from neutral is his biggest weakness.
  3. DT is also the oldest by far and the only one moving up (recently) from 86kg. Plus DT isn't a full time wrestler anymore, even if he decides to go. This isn't prime DT by a longshot, plus he'll be (a little) undersized... That said I agree with you, Ghasempour is the most likely to go 0-2 in this theoretical round robin.
  4. Man, that's a rough one if it's a year or longer. Such a great dude and wrestler, I sure hope we see him back in the mat in 2025.
  5. I don't think that hand injury or whatever it was is new for Vito, but maybe I'm over-reading his reaction.
  6. But he was a 2023 medalist at a different weight, does that give him one of those semi-final byes?
  7. So he officially confirmed this?
  8. For whatever it's worth (tier jump?) Mike Macch seems to be a well liked dude as well
  9. Japan keeps impressing, Blaze got beat decisively in that match.
  10. I believe the guy spearheading this whole Oklahoma State David Taylor thing is a billionaire.
  11. We think any of those 3 NDSU transfers can make some noise for NIU? If three athletes were willing to follow Midkiff, probably a good sign that he's well respected by his wrestlers.
  12. Not on the online roster yet, should we be starting the clock? https://gorunners.com/sports/wrestling/roster
  13. I'm sure they are but he was part of the one-day, night before era of weighins. This could be naivety but I don't think those extremes are a reality anymore.
  14. Despite being upset at NCAAs, I would argue that Myles Martin was clearly a better wrestler as a senior than as a freshman or sophomore. I also think that many elite collegiate wrestlers tend to peak near the end of their redshirt sophomore year and are at a similar level or even slightly below (due to scouting, injuries and HEW) their last two years. I think you can find these examples at every school, heck I think soph Ed Ruth doesn't lose to freshman Gabe Dean like senior Ed Ruth did. That said I agree with some of your points about tOSU, but imo it's a bit too far to say they can't coach. But that is semantics, thanks for going into more detail.
  15. While I agree the draw was the main reason, there was also the one move he used that wasn't scouted yet. Everyone know it's coming now and avoid that position, so unless Coon has developed more offense it's going to be harder for him nowadays.
  16. If the RTC is announcing it I'm guessing it's related to signing a new senior level athlete.
  17. Whiting transferred to Minnesota, so no battle at 184 this year.
  18. Which is donated directly to the opposing school's RTC or NIL fund.
  19. I'll be there...
  20. I welcome any and all Steve Albini discussion on this forum - rest in peace my friend.
  21. Actually, he said wakeboarding is the hardest part. And he ain't wrong!
  22. Not sure I bull-ieve that...
  23. You seem to having it right based on the message board speculations except #2 - the cut to 197 was in the works months before DT was named coach or Hendrickson joined Oklahoma State.
