  1. Iowa state did the triple bump against Cornell a couple years back when Yonger was 197 in 2023. He bumped up to 285 and beat Lewis Fernandes. Marcus Coleman bumped to 197 and beat Jacob Cardenas. Joel Devine bumped to 184 and beat Evan Canoyer.

    Kaleb Larkin

The brothers are very good. It will be interesting to see what happens with them. They seem to both march to the beat of their own drum so I wonder if there is a non-zero chance that they just focus on wrestling freestyle and forgo college altogether?
  3. Has anything been reported on what is going on with Kaleb Larkin? Is he expected to compete this year? Are him and his brother staying at ASU?
  4. Carter did not come off as arrogant as he did when he talked about pissing on people's graves. He did come across as quite mystic. He was talking about feeling the energy of the person's soul that he is wrestling and praying and looking for God to send him signs and such.

  6. Nice find!
  7. I assume that means that he won the spot in the room?
  8. Any word on Cael Hughes?
  9. Nice find Fly! It was also a split just like the dual today with a different family winning each match.

    Zeth Romney

    Romney?
  11. Interesting tidbit and question for the wrestling historians. In the SDSU vs Little Rock dual the Espinosa-Owens brothers just wrestled the Bianchi brothers in back weight classes. Matty Bianchi Dec Moses Espinosa Owens and then Marcus Espinosa Owens Dec Joey Bianchi. How often does this happen?

    Zeth Romney

TJ can beat some really good guys with his scrambling and riding ability (like Sprately 2x last year) but there is a certain type of athleticism that he struggles with. He’s a gamer and will be an AA contender come March. He’s tough as nails.
  13. Webster has absolutely nothing in his match. Did not open up at all. Kraisser is fun to watch.
  14. Is Birden the guy going forward for tOSU?
  15. Some salty 1-2-3 punches for Iowa off the top of my head: Lee-Desanto-Woods/Eierman; McDonough, Dennis/Ramos, Marion, Zaputil-Brands-Brands
  16. Alek Martin SDSU also

maybe a 16 man round robin haha

    Zeth Romney

He has definitely jumped a level. He seems very confident out there. Last year at CKLV he lost to Evan Frost 16-3. This year he beat him 7-3. Last year he got teched by Bouzakis 24-6 and this year he beat him 6-5. He lost to Nassir Bailey 7-1 last year and just pinned him. That is a seriously impressive turn around.
  19. Is it time to start talking about Zeth Romney as a serious title contender at 133? He pinned Nasir Bailey today at national duals to add to a hit list that includes AA Evan Frost, NQ Jacob Van Dee, NQ Derrick Cardinal, NQ Braxton Brown, NQ Angelo Rini and NQ Kade Moore. He has one loss to Tyler Knox. Knox has the two most impressive wins on the season at 133; Ayala and Romney.
  20. There was a reason that Wisconsin gave Bono a large contract after his time at SDSU. The team had a lot of success under him. But I can assure you that we are happy to have coach Hahn now. It seems as if Bono can wear out his welcome rather quickly in places. Fair or not, that is the perception.
  21. Bennett Berge (4th @ 184 last year), Cam Simaz (former NCAA champ), Damion Hahn (2x NCAA champ)
  22. Too bad he doesn't have a good 184 lber on the team to workout with. Or two coaches that were NCAA champions in his weight class.
  23. The impossible leg!
