  1. Carter will be the bigger wrestler. I think Angelo was 165 for Ironman last year and then finished the year as a 175 pound state champ. Carter finished the year as a 174 pound national champ.
  2. The fact that they sent Ferrari out in a must win match in a tight dual tells me that he is the better wrestler. They say that he holds his own against Buchanan in the room.
  3. So SDSU. Train with Berge
  4. Just looking through those matchups on wrestlestat all of those duals would be super close, especially without Teemer. The UNI dual has some interesting predictions.
  5. I think the rumor is that he wanted to go at 174 this year
  6. OKSt, VT, Rutgers have seniors at 174.
  7. A gigantic youth soccer tournament can break a city. Does that mean that youth soccer has more "fans" than the English Premiere League? If you go to an EPL soccer game, there might be 500 people out of the 100,000 that are at the event that are friends / family of the athletes competing. If you go to a youth soccer tournament the family / friends percentage probably eclipses 95%.
  8. What event are you referencing that broke a city?
  9. I think he is saying that college wrestling has more USA domestic wrestling fans than FS/GR.
  10. It should be a great match. With O'Toole's crackdown position and scrambling/leg pass ability, this could look like an entirely different match than a freestyle match.
  11. 125 - Sprately tech Peterson (5-0 OSU) 133- Ayala mdec Witcraft (5-4 OSU) 141- Jamison dec Block (8-4 OSU) 149- Parco dec Young (8-7 OSU) 157- Teemer dec Fish (10-8 Iowa) 165- Caliendo dec Amine (13-8 Iowa) 174- Hamiti dec Kennedy (13-11 Iowa) 184- Ferrari dec Plott (16-11 Iowa) 197- Buchanan dec Surber (19-11 Iowa) HWT- Hendrickson dec Kueter (19-14 Iowa)
  12. I’ll give a shout out to Drake Rhodes.
  13. Eli Griffin (Cal Baptist) Dec Jordan Titus (WVU) 5-0
  14. Now Mineo is saying that it’s rumored Rocky Elam may join Surtin and medically retire from the sport.
  15. Actually the rule is addressed in a way that a headgear tossed toward a coaches bench, tossed to a coach or toward the edge of the mat is not a penalty.
  16. Catka brothers went to different schools and wrestled each other. Hunter to VT and Ryan to Virginia. The Stout brothers went to different schools. Mac to Pitt, Luke to Princeton. They are in the same weight class but have not wrestled to my knowledge. The Gioffre family has two kids at Virginia (Jack and Michael) and one at Mizzou by way of Cal Poly (Logan). Jack and Logan compete in the same weight class but have not wrestled.
  17. I imagine that Paddy is better than Sasso at this point in time and Sasso is at 165 to make the lineup.
  18. I think OKST floor guys should also include Surber and Fish. Surber looks tough so far this year but he has three NCAA wins in three trips. I am going to need to see it before I lock him in as a R12/AA type. Fish had nice wins over Paniro and Saldate but has losses to Chumbley, Brock Herman and Johnny Lovett on the year. For Reece, I am going to need to see some more consistent wins to but him in the R12 conversation. I am interesting to see how it plays out with him and Hughes. Is the cut just too much for Hughes? The other factor to consider is that Jamison fell off a cliff trying to hold 141 for an entire season last year. He had great wins to start the year last year and then was about .500 to finish the season including 0-2 at NCAA's. On the flip side, it is possible that Hamiti is a true title threat. Carter Young has looked better with each outing so perhaps he keeps improving. If Cael Hughes can figure out his weight cut or whatever issues he is dealing with the point potential of 133 goes up significantly in my opinion.
  19. Duke did not look like an overly big 70kg guy. I think he’s a 157 pounder now that will grow into 165. So he would have to contend with Kasak for the spot as of now. I think he could give Kasak a run for his money right now. I don’t see a guy like Duke wanting to sit two years to wrestle but maybe he will.
  20. Gotta imagine Duke is ready to go win a title right now. Hard to shelf a guy like that for two years.
  21. Particularly on the backside of a tournament in freestyle. In that same tournament KOT beat David Carr 9-4 on the frontside of the bracket and David Carr beat Haines 8-2 on the backside of the bracket.
  22. Hard to say that Henson is in a different tier than Ridge when they just went to OT. LL will have Volk (possibly, Volk was out at CKLV), Surtin, Caleb Smith, Dean Peterson, McCrone as top 20 guys in the dual season. Will add Matt Ramos, Cooper Flynn and Nicolar Rivera into the mix at B1G's. I suspect we see him drop a match somewhere in there. SVN will have Ridge, Parco, D'Emilio, Webster as top 20 guys in the dual season. SVN will have some tough tests, particularly Parco and Ridge. Same guys to deal with at B1G's. Kasak will have Antrell, Teemer (possibly), Saldate, Miller, Gallagher as top 20 guys in the dual season. I think Kasak drops one somewhere in this mix. Will have Blaze, Askey and Chumbley in the mix at B1G's. Haines will have KOT. If he beats KOT, he likely goes undefeated. Will also have Kharchla, Brands/PK, Pinto, Braunagel as other top 20 guys in the dual season. Hard to see him losing to anyone outside of KOT and Hamiti.
  23. I think we see Mesenbrink and Starocci go into NCAA's undefeated. SVN and Haines have a decent shot of going undefeated as well.
  24. I am surprised how easily Barr was able to suck the leg in on that last takedown in this video. He is totally stretched out and Beard as his hips back and then Barr just sucks the leg of the much larger Beard in effortlessly.
