  1. People have been saying that the word out of the room is that he has seriously jumped levels. This weight has a ton of guys to watch. Lilledahl, Mark Anthony Mcgowan (former cadet world champ) I dont know that hes wrestled a competition match in like 18months so really no way to gauge where he is at. Kale Peterson down at 125 at 125 U. Greg Diakohmihalis. Majored Sotelo last year and outside of a fall to miller had two 1 point losses finally getting a chance to start. Vinny kilkeary "beat" Braeden Davis and feels like a true 125 which I think is a real bonus come March. Very exciting weight similarly to last year.
  2. Really interested to see what level Merill,Hendrickson,Plott,Hamiti are at this year adding Zahid on top of an already dream training scenario is pretty incredible. The upper weight room is NLWC caliber now.
  3. Very true I should Include Valencia because hes been on the senior level I guess because of his age I look of him as more of a peer of Bo's but hes certainly done enough and in a lot of cases more than the guys I mentioned for PJ. I do believe most of Adens credentials were at 61kg but I don't think hes a particularly undersized 65kg and Bo is not a big 65kg as of yet.
  4. I don't think there are crazy margins by any means Duke did beat (Lewan, Yahya, Webster, Jacques) Ashnault is on paper better than all of those but I really don't know how much he was training before last chance all of those guys are active so I rate them a bit more.
  5. The bassett hype while super warranted perplexes me a bit. He is spectacular but when you stack up his wins vs Duke,Blaze,Forrest,Lockett they are just not the same. Yes, he is dominant against his age level, but the Ashnault win to my knowledge is his only real senior level win whereas those other guys have beaten multiple active all americans/national champs and in regard to Forrest and blaze haven been at the toughest high school weight for like 2-3 years.
  6. if they snag one of Forrest,Blaze,Bassett with dee already I believe Merill will be very good they would be pretty set up for 2028.
  7. That yazdani guy seems pretty good he may even win a world title or two! I agree just as a reference to how hard it is on the senior world level for an 18 year old. Pico was the most physically advanced kid I've seen and he even would not have been super competitive against the best. More drawing a comparison towards him to temper expectations for Khalili unless of course hes another Yazdani.
  8. Was Ali Mahmoud Khorramdel discussed to replace him at all?
  9. Must be a special young talent if he's second in the ladder in Iran as an 18-year-old. That being said unless there is age tampering it's hard to imagine someone that young being highly competitive at 70kg at the senior level. Thinking about Pico at 18-19 at 65kg having his struggles and he's probably the best hand fighter in comparison to his age that I have ever seen. best wishes to baby Yaz he has had the injury bug.
  10. the only way this would matter (I don't care how old he is he would be beating most of the d1 guys now anyway) is that if he's an 06 (im pretty positive that he is) he will not be eligible to compete in the post season for McCort next year. I believe if you turn 20 during the season you are ineligible to compete in the post season.
  11. presumably this is what Yianni was talking about.
  12. after a very good 70kg season in 2023 he did not live up to my expectations competing there in 2024 I really thought it would be him and PJ in the finals even prior to kasak missing weight.
  13. he has never lost in totality at 92kg to my knowledge he did lose to ebrahimi in 1 of the best of 3 finals for the spot in 2021.
  14. Pyles mention on FRL that Parker is 1 of 3 guys in the last 10 years to bonus every guy at NCAA's the other two were Nolf and Zain. Guys that did not do that during that time period Bo,Spencer,Gable,Brooks,Yianni,Ringer. After hearing that stat it sort of answers the question for me now regardless of how weak 184 may have been last year when you also account for Carter going up in weight.
  15. I really think this team could push for somewhere between 4-8 AA's 8 probably being the absolute ceiling and anything less than 4 being really shocking for me Smith,Hardy,Lovett,Pinto seeming very likely and Van Dee, Taylor, Wilson, Allred, McDaniel all having a shot although Wilson and Van dee given their weights would really surprise me.
  16. not a wrestle off thing but I saw on wrestlestat Kale peterson is now at 125 I think that is HUGE for Iowa.
  17. Is this the father of the Medlin that just committed to Illinois? I was on a deep dive on Seth Mendoza results and saw he bumped up from 126 to 138 and beat him 4-0 which I thought was pretty insane given he's a national caliber kid.
  18. Dustin Plott in a flow interview said, "I've gotten a lot better at wrestling" and that is enough for my blindly optimistic pea brain to decide it's a 3-horse race now.
  19. going to do two lists because I'm not sure if they have to be enrolled yet or not Including HS: Blaze Forrest MM Lilledahl Shapiro Lockett Duke Kasak Merill Kaleb Larkin Only enrolled athletes MM Lilledahl Shapiro Kasak Merill Larkin Crookham Davino Feldman Keuter
  20. I think when you account for their Big 10 match Carter beating kem at NCAA's is still by far the biggest obstacle even if Keck were to win at the all-star I think it will be very close where the big 10 finals against Kem honestly was not.
  21. This seems like a lot to be made about something everyone is aware of. I assume Sergio Vega is the guy thats being contacted hard, he just dominated super 32 and at who's 1 and committed to Cornell pretty early while he was very good but maybe not a household name. It makes sense that now coaches are trying to poach him. It is absolutely slimy but its definitely part of the game at this point and only becomes and issue to me if the kid wants no part of it and the coaches are essentially harassing them. I look at this instance (it could not be Sergio but thats my best guess) as something similar to an Olejnik or even Nasir Bailey this year. Im sure programs wanted them but then they showed they jumped levels and now everyone is banging down the door this time it just happened to occur during the high school season rather than during the collegiate season which I honestly would rather happen if it has to happen.
  22. Belton at 133 is giving serious first period national champion vibes. It will be interesting to see if he comes out guns blazing and the tries to sit on leads or if he manages his gas tank. He got tired a lot at 141 so I just see that only getting worse at 133 but his twitchiness coupled with his length at 133 makes him a real real problem.
  23. not a 2024-2025 issue but this last weekend as Im sure a ton of you saw Asher Cunningham won super 32 and looked pretty damn good doing it. He won the title at 165 I think that there is zero shot he ever sees 165 again I think it was largely a by product of having a single day before competition weigh in at super 32. A good problem but a problem none the less now for psu is you have Ryder,Barr,Mirasola,Duke,Cunningham with 4+ years as of now who will all be on the team by this time next year barring a grey shirt for 165-197 and on top of that you have at least 1 more year of Levi after this year and 2 more years of MM. side bar Cunningham kinda wrestles like hes showing someone technique so I think the bigger he gets the better. when Bambinelli was able to finish fast he was cruising but any prolonged exchange at it was all Cunningham.
  24. Interesting to see Radamacher red shirt coming off a huge summer.
  25. there is a younger forrest that I think is in 7th or 8th grade and they have like 5 kids that will be on their junior/senior high team this year that are from Florida. It will be interesting if 3-4 years of being a national powerhouse attracts enough kids to sustain long term success or not. given the investment to "the compound" training facility and the proximity to young guns I would imagine they will try to keep development going.
