  1. He did beat Lujan and Aedon sinclair 4-2 and 9-4 at the LCQ. He lost to Gunderson twice in the same tournament, but this was also 86kg. I think it's fair to assume he was at least wrestling for a while prior to that tournament and probably up until he got suspended at least so likely at most only took a few months off. I'm not here to argue if he's over or underrated if he actually earned the spot on that team, he's probably fairly rated to me.
  2. I highly doubt he changes his training environment long term given the trajectory he is currently on. Especially given his limited English to put him in a state school on top of learning a new style of wrestling just does not seem like a great move for him other than NIL. I would assume Japan compensates him very well though.
  3. Main take aways. Nobody is touching Jesse this year I know it may seem like a lot to takeaway from a win over a guy bumping up two weights in one off season but after watching stanich against Lemley he would be right there to AA and Mendez just crushed him. Score does not tell the entire story in Davino vs Bouzakis it did not seem like bouzakis had anything for him aside from hopping out of a crab ride for a reversal which he does to everyone. Kilkeary probably gives you a little more ceiling but a much lower floor overall I think Mccrone is the guy.
  4. styles are so often mentioned and they generally dont seem to matter with the very best but talk about three guys wrestling with 3 very very different results. I truly think Ghasempour beats sadulaev more times if they wrestle 10 times I dont think Dt ever beats Sadulaev and Dt wins the vast majority against Ghasempour.
  5. Great way to go out one of the best American's to ever do it.
  6. Was really surprised and honestly not thrilled with Forrest at 57kg unless it's not a cut for him at all. I'd like to see him let his body grow I think he only gets better the heavier he goes at least up to a certain point. I was really hoping for a Blaze Bassett match at Iron man so hoping blaze puts on a little size.
  7. I think the most interesting wrinkle is if Blaze,Forrest,Bassett enter like they did last year. Blaze at 133 or 141 would be awesome I'd pick him to win 133 I think and at 141 dear god, Jesse is my pick but please let me see that match. Bo at 141 would be super interesting as well all three of those ranked guys hand fight hard so it would be nice to see him against guys that can match that.
  8. I think most kids usually can still wrestle u20's going into their sophomore year I know Lilledahl,Davino,Shapiro,MM,Barr,Ryder,Duke etc all had or will have that ability.
  9. He had lost in the wrestle off to yazdani on three different occasions I believe, none of them being super competitive. edit: the three wrestle offs occurred prior to the injury this year I'm not aware what transpired with the injury situation this year.
  10. "don't let him get to his hooks, but also don't shoot on him because he will go miss direction and re-attack you. Also keep your feet back or he will pick you. Oh and no short offense because his chest wrap is insane."
  11. The Turkish fella Duman lost to Zane richards at the Zegreb in January this year. Pretty incredible run from him.
  12. I would not be at all surprised if AB takes snyders spot at 97 for 2028 I don't see him descending to 86 if he fills out into 92kg.
  13. It's extremely unlikely he ends up having the career Buvaisar did however he beat a 3x world and olympic champ 10-2 and a world champ 12-0 Id have to see what satievs run was like his first year and who he beat.
  14. Japan could win 57kg: Guchi 61kg: Ono 65kg: Kiyooka 70kg: Aoyagi as well as a silver at 74 and potentially a bronze at 79 pretty insane stuff this year by Japan.
  15. serious bottle job by nohkodi if that was the last time JB steps foot on the mat and I did not get to watch it because of flows stream crashing I will be rather upset.
  16. Very interesting result if Aoyagi beats sheriev he just lost to a Russian last week at u23's, Sheriev won the spot at Russian nats.
  17. That is absolutely insane was it definitive he was not age cheating? Im always concerned with Russia,Turkey,Iran in that regard but thats partially because they grow beards at 11 and I did not get my first whisker until I was 19.
  18. Blaze losing to Ono 7-2 is looking like one of the more impressive losses out there when you factor in him teching everyone else at u20's beating uguev 10-2 and Vito 12-0
  19. Kentchadze is a monster will be a great match Takahashi did wrestle 74kg less than a week ago though and looked super small comparatively he also has a bum wheel so Im taking that match with a grain of salt.
  20. Thats the best 20 year old to ever grace a wrestling mat.
  21. He's up 45lbs from where he started in college and wrestled hard against maybe the best to ever step on the mat nothing to be embarrassed about not to mention he is 4x world and Olympic champ not too shabby if you ask me.
  22. Saw some people saying Uguev was washed on twitter. He beat Bashir Magomedov at Russian nats to win the spot, bashir has won the past two u23 titles and teched his way through the field this year. Ono is just that damn good. Also great performance by JB vintage if I do say so myself.
  23. Not entirely sure why the gameplan was to go underneath him especially after bagaev scored 7 points off an outside step high c/single none the less great effort by David and Sadulaev looks in form.
