  1. at worlds!! this was meant to be about gomez lmao
  2. Austin gomez can win a medal at 70kg
  3. 2027 125 Spratley vs Deluca 133 Forrest/Ramirez vs Raney 141 Vega/Forrest vs Bailey/Raney 149 Swiderski/Vega vs Bassett 157 Robideau vs Williams 165 Lockett vs Transfer 174 Facundo vs Arnold 184 Ryder vs Ferrari 197 Merrill vs Ludington 285 Ross vs Keuter this feels like Oklahoma state 7-3/6-4 to me
  4. going to be completely honest I think with these two lineups each team has 1 for sure win 125 for OKST and 285 for Iowa. Iowa is definitely favored at 133,165,174,184 but those all feel like matches OKST could win. I think I would favor OKST at 149. 157 and Bailey 141 who knows if Bailey is healthy at 141 I would favor him.
  5. I need to see more of roman in stillwater against good guys before I say the scale is an issue for him. I think the issues at the olympics had more to do with how he was wrestling at the time than the scale but I could be completely off base.
  6. thought came to mind after roman beat cronin who would you guys pick out of RBY and Lilledahl right now? I lean Roman but it would be a super fun match.
  7. this seems to be the oklahoma state thread so Jax wins senior gold outscores opponents 30-0 beat former d1 guys Josh Kramer and Joey silva. Silva lost to suriano 3-2 at Pan am's last year I thought Jax looked really good. Lockett also won by tech in the finals over an olympian from last year. Was having a sort of tough match in his semi with a cuban until the guy tombstoned him and got dq'd. Zahid won easily as he should.
  8. sorry I was not insinuating that gable would beat zare or masoumi 9 out of 10 times especially not now perhaps if he never took time off the sport. I meant the bout with Wyatt I feel he would win the vast majority of the time. I think wyatt is a good option for the united states he even does some things gable does not like he has a really good high gut and normal gut but I do not think he can contend with Masoumi or Zare right now.
  9. I want to say this without it seeming like I am taking away from Wyatts win. I think Wyatt can compete for medals on the senior level however I do not think he can compete with either Iranian. As for gable if they wrestled that match 10 times I would expect Gable to win 9 of them.
  10. I think removing gable from the convo they are the two best heavyweights in the world. Masoumi has killed mason twice and mason is top 7 or so in the world.
  11. I would agree if Jax did not have the Mendoza loss in the last 12 months he also lost to Marcus at trials in mid April last year so just outside of that range.
  12. Fellers just put it about as well as you could on the firstword on @Husker_Du's rokfin.
  13. super 32 2022 I believe on the backside.
  14. Going over the last two years Jax: Notable wins: Gross,Nashon,Davino,Cronin,Stanich,Tomasello,Deshazer,Mendoza,Raney,Lilledahl,Seidel losses: Lilledahl,Blaze,Gillman,Vargo,Mendoza,Desanto (all of these were in 2023/2024) Marcus: Notable wins: Gross,Nashon,Fix,Jax,Ramos,Davino,Megaludis,Bailey,Abbasov,Ozbek,Lilledahl,Seidel Notable losses: Gross,Palmer,Ono,Vito,Davino Bassett: Notable wins: Zepeda,Ashnault,Valencia Notable losses: Zepeda,Stanich,Kolodzik,Hosokawa Duke: Notable wins: Webster,Robideau,Miller,Lewan,Thomas,Andonian Notable losses: Pantaleo,Baitukaev Lockett: Notable wins: Sealey,Shapiro,Miller,Denny,Burton,Bouzakis Notable losses: Berger,MM,Ali Reza If you go over a 1 year sample I think Jax is the pick slightly edging out Blaze. However the Mendoza and Vargo losses ding him a lot over 2 years so I will be ruling him out although he may have the best trajectory with another year of high school. Going off the two year sample I think Blaze are both options however Duke does not have quite the same hit list and both do not really lose at their own age level. Blazes last age level loss was davino that he has avenged 3x's and Duke was like cadet trials in 2022 and Baitukaev who aged out of u20's this year. Considering overall quality of competition I am going Blaze and I will give Duke a slight edge over Jax for consistency but thats a push if anything honestly and I like Jax's ceiling the most out of all these guys but for the sake of rankings here we go. Truzzcat final ranking: 1. Blaze 2. Duke 3. Jax 4. Lockett 5. Bassett
  15. final score is deceiving but Zare beats Masoumi 8-2 Masoumi lead for a good portion of the second period probably the closest hes gotten so far.
  16. PA kid but right now its chance since I have been alive its been Jody strittmater but what chance is doing with stellar right now is pretty special.
  17. He was pretty graceful in the Ariel interview was hoping he would ride that wave. I hope he does well I would like to see him fight Andre Petroski next and then maybe someone like Brendan allen or abus magomedov. Petroski does what I think Bo should do very well to the level he competes. Bo is a much better wrestler than petroski was but petroski seems to have a better ability to implement it and has one or two go two submissions more often than not a darce. That path would put him at the bottom of the top 15.
  18. I watched Bo's podcast and he walked back fighting multiple times this year said he will definitely fight one more time this year and then said he needs to get bigger and he will fight again when he feels the time is right. I think he really needs fight experience. He was obviously very uncomfortable in the fight and admitted he was not really able to redirect the way it was going. To me that's not something you can really get from sparring unless you are getting smoked all camp which is probably not good either. At the end of the day if he wants to be a champ this loss set him back likely 2 fights unless RDR goes on to win a belt which I don't think is going to happen. He will be 30 next January. Lets say he is 4 fights away from a title fight which is probably the minimum, he will be close to out of his prime before he even gets there at the current rate he is going.
  19. The name of this affiliation is why I fear it will fail. Guys like Askren are great gets but I think they need international talent to really peak fan interest and I doubt that's going to happen with the name "real American wrestling"
  20. who is the indian I was going to look up some of his matches. Goleji I thought looked like he may be losing a step against Snyder at the ranking series part of that is because I think Snyder may be on the decline as well. Speaking of Amir Yazdani what happened to him? As a 22 year old teching akmataliev I thought he was going to be the future of 70kg maybe even 74.
  21. Where are you projecting them weight wise? Jayden making 55kg kind of shocked me but I heard they do not weight train at all, so I am anticipating some growth once they get to college.
  22. if he is truly walking around at 215-220 he should work on putting good size and fight at light heavy. The skill discrepancy between those two divisions is immense and he would have much more favorable matchups on paper.
  23. What a good guy, V-tech always shows up on kids short lists for schools and I would imagine it's from the impact those coaches make on the kids.
  24. Justin outstruck fiziev in two fights and Fiziev is one of the best pure strikers in the MMA. His striking has gotten very good under Trevor Wittman. Edit: he also ko'd and outstruck poirier the last time they fought.
  25. Keuter Mullen Trumble Gable Mason Wyatt Hopke greg (if Aaron goes 97 maybe snyder?) Its a shame other than Gable and maybe Mason and Wyatt that none of these guys seem to really feel like established senior level threats.
