  1. Crookhams best offensive attack is that misdirect to a head inside single. With Marcus's stance and how far back he keeps his legs I just dont know how he ever generates his own offense, and Marcus is so selective with his attacks and always finishes around the corner it just to me seems like a really hard stylistic match up for Crookham.
  2. conceptually its hard for me to grasp that Jayden is going to wrestle an event at 150 and his twin brother is going to make 121 3 weeks before that.
  3. 1st period tech is pretty impressive against Rivera. I think he is more of a folk guy but he made the round of 16 this year. Stuff like that really puts into perspective how good these kids are. People like to get on Bo because he may not be quite as good as Jax/PJ/Marcus but any other time period if you said a kid about to start his senior year of high school just teched a round of 16 guy in a minute 40 seconds you would think he was the second coming.
  4. did Bassett have eligh rivera in the finals?
  5. I think brown is going to shock a lot of people this year!
  6. He lost to Robideau twice this summer and I am not ready to put Robideau top 5 I dont think although I think they will be 149 and 157.
  7. Takahashi beat him at the ranking series but it was close.
  8. was a big discussion on FRL I think its very clear we have better depth and development than Japan they do certainly thrive in a 6 weight format though. I am going to push back with @Jon_Kozak a bit though. Japan does seem to have extremely good depth at 61,65,74 potentially 57 depending on what Higuchi and ono do. 61(Ono,suda) 65(Kiyooka,Nisiuchi (I believe he is not even #2 on the ladder but is a 2x u20 champ lost to ono 3-2) 74 (takanti,Takahashi,Yamaguchi).
  9. The rematch we never got to see. Raney took this one at fargo in 2022 via fall in a match he was leading in. Both guys have improved a ton since then. Have to favor Bassett in this one but I was super impressed with Raneys pace in his fargo final against Wolbert and Wolbert certainly was the beneficiary of freestyle exchanges in that one. O/U on points for this one has to be about 25.5 wondering your guys thoughts.
  10. I stand corrected he did 3-1 in 2023 I will caveat that with it was 17-year-old Toprak but still a great win. Nic bouzakis also beat him in 2022, this kid has been wrestling juniors since he was 16 what a menace.
  11. I firmly expect 2026-2027 to have at least 50% representation in the finals of Oklahoma state and PSU guys. A lot of that race I think depends on if Henckle stats at 174 and can immediately be a top 3 guy (seems likely after worlds), I also think how they fill 149 will be very important. Penn state has a lot more sure things without baking in development but if you assume guys develop at Oklahoma state they will have All American caliber guys at every weight.
  12. I've always wondered if getting rid of Greco would increase the popularity of Judo. I personally would watch judo any day of the week at a high level. Greco at the highest level almost feels like a chess match. Who can do enough to not get put down first, but I may have a poor grasp of the sport. I know there are people who enjoy it and I don't want to disparage something I do not understand to the fullest extent, but I would not be sad if it was done away with for more freestyle weights.
  13. Yeah, I do not think he is making 65kg for olympics unless he has a zain type of cut.
  14. especially with a style that is largely predicated on being able to move and get your opponent out of position. Henson is a hoss.
  15. 125: Mcgowan, Rivera, Sotelo 133: Seidel, Yarbrough, Ayoub 141: Mendoza, larkin, Evans, Clark 149: Busgens, Kade brown, Cartella 157: Catrabone, Larkin, Millard 165: Ruiz, Church, Scoles 174: Augustine, Arujao, Norman 184: Dellegatto, Sinclair, Mcdonell 197: Bechtold, Lawrence, Hogan 285: Doucet, Pitzer, Carroll
  16. Certainly, I am not sure how much of a factor I foresee him being at I believe 32 by 2028 however guys seem to be having much longer careers.
  17. potential field: Luke Stanich (Junior gold) Bo Bassett (Junior Bronze, Cadet gold) Jax Forrest (Senior world team member, Cadet silver) Marcus Blaze (Junior gold (hes gonna win), Junior bronze, Cadet gold) Brock Hardy (u23 Bronze) Jesse Mendez (Junior silver) Real Woods (2025 senior world team member) Aden Valencia (2x wins over Real woods) Andrew Alirez (national champion) Beau Bartlett (3x NCAA top 3) Not mentioned but could end up here: Vito,Yianni,Nick Lee This is a great problem to have obviously whoever wins the spot is going to have a great shot at gold however even assuming PJ moves up to 74kg that weight could realistically only have 3-4 guys competing there where it is their optimal weight (excluding KOT and Meyer I dont think it will be optimal for them.)
  18. I think a lot of it boils down to I am not confident in real at all and do not really think he is our best guy. He earned it he made it through the process but I would definitely prefer Jesse or Stanich as our guy maybe even Brock I think his style would do well internationally.
  19. Valencia was 2-1 against woods and 6 seconds from being 3-0 I think that bracket probably could have had 3-4 different winners. In terms of wins I believe the Toprak and Dhzandubaev wins are better than any other current domestic 65kg guy has.
  20. 3 champs are the most we have ever had in a single year at u20's I am like 99% confident that both Max and Blaze win tomorrow.
  21. It is hard to unsee his clarion open match against Mendez for me. However, in the same breath I kind of feel like he would have been our best 65kg if he tried to make the senior team.
  22. not gonna lie boys if you squint a little this was not too bad for before brackets. Would have never not picked Lockett for gold but other than that I will take the within 1 spot of margin of error.
  23. Radamacher won a bronze last year and beat Merill in season. If you think coaches were not blowing his phone up already, I think you are a bit silly. As mentioned now that there is "fair market value" assessed to the NIL deals there is no way he is getting offers equivalent to what he was getting before.
  24. Could not do the 3am wake up this morning boys I apologize ready for the semis though! Mcnelly vs rahamni is going to be awesome.
  25. Dhzandubaev is 2-0 against Toprak that Luke went down 8-0 before breaking 6-4 and winner by tech and u20 and u23 euros.
